AirTAC MFC Series Cushioned Mini Cylinders

The AirTAC MFC series is a double-acting, variable-air-cushion version of the MF JIS round-body mini cylinder. It features a SUS304 stainless steel barrel and aluminium covers joined by riveted rolling-packed construction. Adjustable air cushions at both ends smooth the stroke end at high speed, cutting shock and noise.

The range spans four bores (20, 25, 32, 40 mm) with standard strokes up to 500 mm. Theoretical force at 1.0 MPa spans about 32 kgf on the 20 mm bore up to 128 kgf on the 40 mm bore. Ports are 1/8 inch on the 20/25 mm bores and 1/4 inch on the 32/40 mm bores, available in PT, G or NPT threads. Operating pressure is 0.15-1.0 MPa with a speed range of 30-800 mm/s.

A key design advantage is that for the same bore and stroke, the MFC is shorter than an ISO 6432 cylinder while retaining a JIS-standard interface. It is not an ISO 6432 cylinder. The cushion only decelerates the piston near stroke end; it does not lock or hold position. For load holding, a mechanical lock or pilot check valve is required. A magnet option (-S) supports CMSG, DMSG and EMSG sensors.
