AirTAC Valve-Type Cylinders

A valve-type cylinder is a standard double-acting cylinder with its 5/2 solenoid valve mounted on the cylinder body instead of in a central manifold. Instead of running two air lines from every actuator back to a valve cabinet, you run one air supply plus one electrical signal to each cylinder. AirTAC states this saves tubing, manifold slots and install time on large or spread-out machines. Because the air path between valve and piston is very short, there is also less volume to fill and vent on each stroke.

The family holds 2622 published part numbers in three series. SAIF (1069 part numbers) is an ISO 15552 double-acting cylinder with a built-in 4M-series 5/2 solenoid valve in 32-100 mm bores - choose it when the machine is already built around ISO 15552 mountings. SAUF (944 part numbers) integrates a 4M solenoid valve directly onto a 32-100 mm profile cylinder, giving the compact profile body rather than the ISO interface. SCF (609 part numbers) is the valve-type version of the SC general tie-rod cylinder; its specifications are confirmed on request.

The integrated valve is the same 4M-series 5/2 solenoid AirTAC sells separately under solenoid valves. Coil voltage and valve options are selected inside the part code. Two practical points to plan for: the valve now lives out on the machine, so it must be reachable for service, and each actuator needs its electrical signal routed to it rather than to a cabinet.
