The AirTAC Airtac 3V1 Solenoid Valve 3V106BI12F is a genuine 3-port 2-position (3/2) solenoid valve with 1/8 in ports. It either feeds its outlet or vents it to exhaust, which is what makes it the valve for single-acting cylinders, on/off air blow, clamping, vacuum switching and pilot duty.
The 3V106BI12F groups twelve AirTAC 3V1 valves on one shared base, all rated 0-0.8 MPa (0-114 psi) and usable from -20 to 70 C. Each position is a direct-acting 3/2 valve with spring return: energise the coil to feed the outlet, de-energise to vent it. That is the natural fit for single-acting cylinders, clamps, air jets or a pilot signal.
The DC24V coils draw just 3.0 W each, so a fully loaded 12-station block stays light on power-supply sizing, and the flying-lead entry removes the need for separate DIN plugs at every station. Air must pass through a 40 um or finer filter; lubrication is not needed.

Figures follow the official AirTAC 3V1 catalogue. Confirm coil voltage and thread (PT / NPT / G) against the product label before wiring.
| 3V1 | Body — sets the flow, the coil power and whether vacuum is rated. |
|---|---|
| 1/8 in | Port size. M5, 06 = 1/8 in, 08 = 1/4 in, 10 = 3/8 in. |
| DC24V | Coil voltage. A = AC220V, B = DC24V, C = AC110V, E = AC24V, F = DC12V. |
| I | Electrical entry: I = flying lead, otherwise a DIN plug. |
| 12F | 12 stations in one assembly. |
| PT | Port thread. PT ships from stock; G and NPT are available to order. |
A 3/2 valve has three ports — supply, outlet and exhaust — and two states. It either feeds the outlet or vents it to exhaust, and that is the whole job.
That makes it the right valve for a single-acting (spring-return) cylinder, on/off air blow, a clamp, switching a vacuum generator or suction cup, and piloting a larger valve.
It cannot run a double-acting cylinder. A double-acting cylinder needs air alternately on two sides, which takes a 5-port valve — the AirTAC 4V series.
Extends single-acting pneumatic pushers that kick cartons off a parcel-sort conveyor, the exhaust port letting each pusher retract by spring.
Switches a low-flow purge or blow-down line on a laboratory glass reactor, with each 3.0 W DC24V coil driven straight from a PLC output card.
Feeds the single-acting cylinder that presses a heat-seal bar onto food trays, then vents it the moment the seal dwell ends.
Because 3V1 has no published Cv or effective area, treat it as a small-port body and verify any flow-critical duty with us first. Where a job needs more flow, the 3V2 (1/8 or 1/4, NC or NO selectable, Cv 0.18-0.19, vacuum rated) or the 3V3 (1/4, Cv 0.62) are the next steps up; 3V2M wins where manifold density outranks flow; and a double-acting cylinder calls for the 5-port 4V series, not this 3/2 body.
Confirm five points before you order: M5 or 1/8 port; thread - PT is the family standard, with G and NPT as catalogue options to order; coil voltage; DIN plug or flying-lead entry; and whether you want an individual valve or a manifold of 1 to 20 stations.

Pressure range 0-0.8 MPa (0-114 psi); temperature -20 to 70 C; DC24V coils at 3.0 W each (AC220V and AC110V are 4.5 VA, AC24V 5.0 VA, DC12V 2.5 W elsewhere in the family); IP65 (DIN 40050) protection; twelve PT1/8 stations. AirTAC publishes no Cv for 3V1 - ask us to check the flow duty before you commit.
The I in the code means each 3.0 W DC24V coil is supplied with a pre-wired lead-out, so you land the wires directly on a terminal rail instead of fitting DIN connectors. It removes one accessory per station and suits cabinets where looms are prepared before mounting. A manual override is still fitted, so stations can be cycled by hand without power.
