The AirTAC Airtac 3V1 Solenoid Valve 3V106BI8F is a genuine 3-port 2-position (3/2) solenoid valve with 1/8 in ports. It either feeds its outlet or vents it to exhaust, which is what makes it the valve for single-acting cylinders, on/off air blow, clamping, vacuum switching and pilot duty.
Eight 3/2 valves, one manifold: 3V106BI8F packs a full bank of direct-acting, spring-return stations into a single valve row. Two states, three ports per station - supply, outlet, exhaust - so each position either pressurizes its line or vents it. With eight DC24V coils at 3.0 W apiece, the total coil load is 24 W, light enough for most 24 V panel supplies.
The I in the code means flying-lead entry: every coil carries its own pre-wired lead-out instead of sitting on a DIN socket, which suits machines where the valve bank sits inside a sealed enclosure wired to a terminal rail. Each station has a manual override for set-up, coil protection is IP65 (DIN 40050), and the 1/8in ports carry the PT thread that is the manufacturer default for this body.

Figures follow the official AirTAC 3V1 catalogue. Confirm coil voltage and thread (PT / NPT / G) against the product label before wiring.
| 3V1 | Body — sets the flow, the coil power and whether vacuum is rated. |
|---|---|
| 1/8 in | Port size. M5, 06 = 1/8 in, 08 = 1/4 in, 10 = 3/8 in. |
| DC24V | Coil voltage. A = AC220V, B = DC24V, C = AC110V, E = AC24V, F = DC12V. |
| I | Electrical entry: I = flying lead, otherwise a DIN plug. |
| 8F | 8 stations in one assembly. |
| PT | Port thread. PT ships from stock; G and NPT are available to order. |
A 3/2 valve has three ports — supply, outlet and exhaust — and two states. It either feeds the outlet or vents it to exhaust, and that is the whole job.
That makes it the right valve for a single-acting (spring-return) cylinder, on/off air blow, a clamp, switching a vacuum generator or suction cup, and piloting a larger valve.
It cannot run a double-acting cylinder. A double-acting cylinder needs air alternately on two sides, which takes a 5-port valve — the AirTAC 4V series.
A single-acting gate cylinder at each of eight divert points is fed and vented by its own station; spring return drops the gate the moment the coil drops out.
Eight single-acting clamp cylinders lock a gearbox housing for machining; the manual override lets a setter release any clamp without applying power.
Each station routes supply to one test port of an eight-way leak-test fixture, and 3.0 W coils keep the 24 V rail of the test controller well within budget.
Size this bank honestly: 3V1 is the smallest body and the lowest coil draw in the 3V family, and it publishes no Cv, so for flow-critical work send us your flow target and we will confirm the fit. Need more flow? Move up to 3V2 (1/8in and 1/4in ports, NC or NO selectable, Cv 0.18-0.19, vacuum rated) or 3V3 (1/4in, Cv 0.62). If your real priority is the densest possible manifold rather than flow, 3V2M was built for it. A double-acting cylinder needs a 5-port valve, so route that job to the AirTAC 4V series.
Confirm five things against your drawing: M5 or 1/8in port, PT thread (G and NPT are catalogue options to order), coil voltage, DIN plug versus flying lead, and the number of stations - 1 to 20 are available, with this SKU fixed at 8.

Eight 3/2 direct-acting, spring-return stations sharing one manifold. Pressure 0-0.8 MPa (0-114 psi), temperature -20 to 70 C, IP65 (DIN 40050). Each DC24V coil draws 3.0 W; across the 3V1 range AC220V and AC110V coils are 4.5 VA, AC24V is 5.0 VA and DC12V is 2.5 W. Air must pass a 40 um or finer filter and no lubricator is needed. One honest caveat: AirTAC publishes no Cv for 3V1, so verify flow with us.
The I in 3V106BI8F means lead-out wiring: each coil exits on its own pre-wired lead instead of plugging onto a DIN socket, so all eight stations land on a common terminal rail - often tidier inside sealed enclosures than eight separate plugs. Coil rating is 3.0 W per station at DC24V, ports are 1/8in PT (G or NPT exist as order options), and the manifold can be ordered in any size from 1F to 20F.
