The AirTAC Airtac 3V1 Solenoid Valve 3V106E-AM is a genuine 3-port 2-position (3/2) solenoid valve with 1/8 in ports. It either feeds its outlet or vents it to exhaust, which is what makes it the valve for single-acting cylinders, on/off air blow, clamping, vacuum switching and pilot duty.
The AirTAC 3V106E-AM is an individual 3/2-way direct-acting solenoid valve with 1/8in PT ports and an AC24V coil rated at 5.0 VA. Energising the solenoid switches the outlet between supply and exhaust; the spring returns it when power is cut, so one small valve can feed or vent a single line. That suits single-acting cylinders, air blow-off, clamping and piloting a larger valve.
The 24V AC coil keeps control wiring simple in panels that run a standard AC control transformer, and the DIN plug socket lets you disconnect the valve without unwiring it. The IP65 (DIN 40050) coil enclosure resists dust and splash, a manual override is fitted to help commissioning, and the valve runs on air filtered through a 40 um or finer element with no lubrication required.

Figures follow the official AirTAC 3V1 catalogue. Confirm coil voltage and thread (PT / NPT / G) against the product label before wiring.
| 3V1 | Body — sets the flow, the coil power and whether vacuum is rated. |
|---|---|
| 1/8 in | Port size. M5, 06 = 1/8 in, 08 = 1/4 in, 10 = 3/8 in. |
| AC24V | Coil voltage. A = AC220V, B = DC24V, C = AC110V, E = AC24V, F = DC12V. |
| — | Electrical entry: I = flying lead, otherwise a DIN plug. |
| PT | Port thread. PT ships from stock; G and NPT are available to order. |
A 3/2 valve has three ports — supply, outlet and exhaust — and two states. It either feeds the outlet or vents it to exhaust, and that is the whole job.
That makes it the right valve for a single-acting (spring-return) cylinder, on/off air blow, a clamp, switching a vacuum generator or suction cup, and piloting a larger valve.
It cannot run a double-acting cylinder. A double-acting cylinder needs air alternately on two sides, which takes a 5-port valve — the AirTAC 4V series.
The valve exhausts the single-acting clamp cylinder when the cycle ends, letting the spring retract the jaw; the manual override proves the clamp position before production starts.
An AC24V coil wired from the bench transformer energises a blow nozzle that clears chips from terminals under test, and the spring return shuts the jet the moment the coil drops out.
A small 3/2 valve sends an air pilot signal to a larger process valve actuator; at 5.0 VA the solenoid load is trivial for the skid's 24V AC control circuit.
3V1 is the smallest, lowest-power body in the AirTAC 3V range, and no Cv is published for it, so settle any flow-critical duty with us before ordering. Step up to 3V2 (1/8in and 1/4in, NC or NO selectable, Cv 0.18-0.19, vacuum rated) or 3V3 (1/4in, Cv 0.62) when a job needs more flow, and pick 3V2M where a dense manifold matters more than flow. Match five points to this exact code: 1/8in port with PT thread (G and NPT are catalogue options to order), AC24V coil, DIN plug entry, and a single valve rather than a manifold station count. For a double-acting cylinder you need a 5-port AirTAC 4V valve instead.
Confirm before you order
It is a 3/2 direct-acting, single-solenoid, spring-return valve with 1/8in PT ports. Pressure range is 0-0.8 MPa (0-114 psi), media temperature -20 to 70 C, and the coil is IP65 (DIN 40050). Coil power depends on voltage: AC220V and AC110V draw 4.5 VA, AC24V draws 5.0 VA, DC24V 3.0 W and DC12V 2.5 W - this SKU is the 5.0 VA AC24V version. AirTAC publishes no Cv or effective area for the 3V1 body, so confirm any flow-critical duty with us.
Three ports, two states: it either feeds the outlet or vents it to exhaust. That fits single-acting (spring-return) cylinders, clamps, air blow-off and piloting a larger valve. It cannot switch a double-acting cylinder - that needs a 5-port AirTAC 4V valve. The valve arrives in one fixed initial state; confirm it on the datasheet before wiring your safety logic.
