The AirTAC Airtac 3V1 Solenoid Valve 3V106F is a genuine 3-port 2-position (3/2) solenoid valve with 1/8 in ports. It either feeds its outlet or vents it to exhaust, which is what makes it the valve for single-acting cylinders, on/off air blow, clamping, vacuum switching and pilot duty.
The AirTAC 3V106F is a 3/2-way solenoid valve that controls a single air line: it either feeds the outlet from supply or vents it to exhaust, which is exactly what single-acting cylinders, air blow-off, clamps and pilot stages need. It is direct-acting with a single solenoid and spring return, so the valve reverts to its fixed initial state whenever coil power drops. This code pairs a 1/8in PT port with a DC12V coil drawing only 2.5 W.
A 2.5 W DC12V coil suits battery-backed and low-voltage control cabinets, and the DIN plug connection lets the coil be swapped without rewiring. The body is rated IP65 to DIN 40050, a manual override helps during installation and commissioning, and the air supply should be filtered to 40 um or finer - no lubrication is required.

Figures follow the official AirTAC 3V1 catalogue. Confirm coil voltage and thread (PT / NPT / G) against the product label before wiring.
| 3V1 | Body — sets the flow, the coil power and whether vacuum is rated. |
|---|---|
| 1/8 in | Port size. M5, 06 = 1/8 in, 08 = 1/4 in, 10 = 3/8 in. |
| DC12V | Coil voltage. A = AC220V, B = DC24V, C = AC110V, E = AC24V, F = DC12V. |
| — | Electrical entry: I = flying lead, otherwise a DIN plug. |
| PT | Port thread. PT ships from stock; G and NPT are available to order. |
A 3/2 valve has three ports — supply, outlet and exhaust — and two states. It either feeds the outlet or vents it to exhaust, and that is the whole job.
That makes it the right valve for a single-acting (spring-return) cylinder, on/off air blow, a clamp, switching a vacuum generator or suction cup, and piloting a larger valve.
It cannot run a double-acting cylinder. A double-acting cylinder needs air alternately on two sides, which takes a 5-port valve — the AirTAC 4V series.
On vans and service trucks with 12V battery systems, the valve powers a small single-acting clamp cylinder that holds a compartment door; losing power vents the line through the spring return.
A 12V bench supply switches the valve between pressurising a test part and venting it, with the DIN plug allowing quick coil swaps between test cycles.
When the machine's 12V safety circuit opens, the coil drops and the spring-return valve vents the air cylinder that locks a guard, giving a predictable release.
The 3V1 is the smallest and lowest-power body in AirTAC's 3V range, and the catalogue publishes no Cv or effective-area figure for it, so if the duty is flow-critical, confirm sizing with us before you order. When more flow is needed, step up to the 3V2 (1/8in and 1/4in, NC or NO selectable, Cv 0.18-0.19, vacuum rated) or the 3V3 (1/4in, Cv 0.62); where manifold density matters more than flow, the 3V2M is the platform to compare. A double-acting cylinder needs a 5-port valve, not this 3/2 body - send that requirement to the AirTAC 4V series.
Five things decide the right code: port (M5 or 1/8in), thread (PT is the standard on 3V1, with G and NPT available to order), coil voltage, electrical entry (DIN plug here, flying lead where the code carries an I), and whether you want an individual valve or a multi-station manifold.
Confirm before you order
It is a 3/2-way direct-acting, single-solenoid, spring-return valve with a 1/8in PT port. Operating pressure is 0-0.8 MPa (0-114 psi), medium temperature -20 to 70 C, and the DC12V coil draws 2.5 W. Protection is IP65 to DIN 40050, and the air supply must be filtered to 40 um or finer, with no lubrication required. AirTAC publishes no Cv or effective-area figure for the 3V1, so confirm flow-critical duties with us before ordering.
With three ports (supply, outlet, exhaust) and two states, it feeds or vents one line at a time. That fits single-acting spring-return cylinders, on/off air blow, clamping, and piloting a larger valve. It is not the valve for a double-acting cylinder - that needs a 5-port valve from the AirTAC 4V series. Note that the 3V1 code carries no NC/NO position: it is supplied in a single fixed initial state, so confirm that state on the datasheet.
