The AirTAC Airtac 3V1 Solenoid Valve 3V1M5B2F is a genuine 3-port 2-position (3/2) solenoid valve with M5 ports. It either feeds its outlet or vents it to exhaust, which is what makes it the valve for single-acting cylinders, on/off air blow, clamping, vacuum switching and pilot duty.
Two complete 3V1 valves arrive integrated in series on one base with the 3V1M5B2F code. Each valve is a 3/2-way, direct-acting, spring-return unit with M5 ports: it either pressurises its own outlet or exhausts it, so one assembly runs two independent single-acting functions side by side and frees up panel space.
Coils are DC24V at 3.0 W each, wired through DIN plug sockets, and the block is protected to IP65 (DIN 40050). The medium is air filtered to 40 um or finer, with no lubrication required, and each valve carries a manual override for setup.

Figures follow the official AirTAC 3V1 catalogue. Confirm coil voltage and thread (PT / NPT / G) against the product label before wiring.
| 3V1 | Body — sets the flow, the coil power and whether vacuum is rated. |
|---|---|
| M5 | Port size. M5, 06 = 1/8 in, 08 = 1/4 in, 10 = 3/8 in. |
| DC24V | Coil voltage. A = AC220V, B = DC24V, C = AC110V, E = AC24V, F = DC12V. |
| — | Electrical entry: I = flying lead, otherwise a DIN plug. |
| 2F | 2 stations in one assembly. |
| PT | Port thread. PT ships from stock; G and NPT are available to order. |
A 3/2 valve has three ports — supply, outlet and exhaust — and two states. It either feeds the outlet or vents it to exhaust, and that is the whole job.
That makes it the right valve for a single-acting (spring-return) cylinder, on/off air blow, a clamp, switching a vacuum generator or suction cup, and piloting a larger valve.
It cannot run a double-acting cylinder. A double-acting cylinder needs air alternately on two sides, which takes a 5-port valve — the AirTAC 4V series.
Two single-acting diverter gates sit side by side on a parcel sorter; each 3/2 station feeds its gate cylinder to divert a parcel and vents the line to let the spring bring the gate home.
A toolmaker runs a two-piece modular fixture panel where every clamp needs its own valve; the 2F base parks both 3/2 valves on the machine frame instead of crowding the inside of the panel.
In a die-casting robot cell, one station clamps the sprue cutter while its neighbour fires a blow-off pulse to clear chips, both served from the same compact M5 manifold block.
Before you commit to the 2-station base, match five things: M5 versus 1/8in port, thread (PT is the manufacturer default; G and NPT exist as order options), coil voltage, DIN plug or flying-lead entry, and the station count your layout needs - this code fixes it at two.
On flow, 3V1 publishes no Cv, so treat it as a small-port control valve and check critical duties with us. When more flow is required, the 3V2 (1/8in and 1/4in, NC or NO selectable, Cv 0.18-0.19, vacuum rated) or the 3V3 (1/4in, Cv 0.62) are the next bodies up; 3V2M wins where manifold density beats flow; and any double-acting cylinder belongs on an AirTAC 4V 5-port valve instead.

Pressure range 0-0.8 MPa (0-114 psi), temperature -20 to 70 C, and 40 um or finer air filtration. Protection class is IP65 (DIN 40050). Family coil powers are 4.5 VA on AC220V and AC110V, 5.0 VA on AC24V, 3.0 W on DC24V and 2.5 W on DC12V; both stations here carry the 3.0 W DC24V coil. No flow coefficient is published for the 3V1.
No. A 3/2-way valve has three ports and two states: it either feeds the outlet or vents it to exhaust, which suits single-acting (spring-return) cylinders, blow-off, clamping and pilot duty. A double-acting cylinder needs pressurisation on both sides, so specify a 5-port valve from the AirTAC 4V series instead.
