The AirTAC Airtac 3V1 Solenoid Valve 3V1M5B3F is a genuine 3-port 2-position (3/2) solenoid valve with M5 ports. It either feeds its outlet or vents it to exhaust, which is what makes it the valve for single-acting cylinders, on/off air blow, clamping, vacuum switching and pilot duty.
The 3F code on 3V1M5B3F means three 3V1 valves mounted in series on a shared base, each valve on M5 ports. Every valve is a 3/2-way, direct-acting type with spring return: energise a coil and the outlet is fed; remove power and the spring carries the spool back to the valve's single fixed initial state.
At DC24V each coil takes just 3.0 W, so three valves together place only a light load on a PLC output card or small relay. Protection is IP65 (DIN 40050), a manual override is fitted per station, and 40 um-or-finer filtered air needs no lubrication.

Figures follow the official AirTAC 3V1 catalogue. Confirm coil voltage and thread (PT / NPT / G) against the product label before wiring.
| 3V1 | Body — sets the flow, the coil power and whether vacuum is rated. |
|---|---|
| M5 | Port size. M5, 06 = 1/8 in, 08 = 1/4 in, 10 = 3/8 in. |
| DC24V | Coil voltage. A = AC220V, B = DC24V, C = AC110V, E = AC24V, F = DC12V. |
| — | Electrical entry: I = flying lead, otherwise a DIN plug. |
| 3F | 3 stations in one assembly. |
| PT | Port thread. PT ships from stock; G and NPT are available to order. |
A 3/2 valve has three ports — supply, outlet and exhaust — and two states. It either feeds the outlet or vents it to exhaust, and that is the whole job.
That makes it the right valve for a single-acting (spring-return) cylinder, on/off air blow, a clamp, switching a vacuum generator or suction cup, and piloting a larger valve.
It cannot run a double-acting cylinder. A double-acting cylinder needs air alternately on two sides, which takes a 5-port valve — the AirTAC 4V series.
A small-parts press feeder uses three ejector pins around an indexing table; one 3/2 station per pin fires the eject stroke, with the whole block mounted right at the die to keep tubing short.
Three single-acting gates meter empty bottles into a rinsing carousel; the 3-station manifold keeps the valve block small enough to fit beside the machine's guard door.
An auto-parts leak-test bench connects shop air to three different test ports in turn; the technician triggers each 3.0 W DC24V coil from the bench PLC without rewiring the rig.
Five checks decide the right code: M5 or 1/8in port; PT, G or NPT thread (PT is standard on 3V1, while G and NPT are ordered as options); the coil voltage; DIN plug versus flying-lead entry (this SKU is DIN plug); and one valve or a manifold, where 1F to 20F set the station count.
Because AirTAC publishes no Cv or effective area for the 3V1, confirm flow-sensitive duties with us before ordering. Need more flow? Move up to 3V2 (1/8in and 1/4in, NC or NO selectable, Cv 0.18-0.19, vacuum rated) or 3V3 (1/4in, Cv 0.62). For tightly packed manifolds, 3V2M is the specialist body; for double-acting cylinders, use the AirTAC 4V series.

Expect 0-0.8 MPa (0-114 psi) operating pressure, -20 to 70 C temperature limits, IP65 (DIN 40050) protection and 40 um-or-finer filtered air. Coil power across the family: AC220V 4.5 VA, AC110V 4.5 VA, AC24V 5.0 VA, DC24V 3.0 W, DC12V 2.5 W - all three stations here are 3.0 W DC24V. There is no published Cv for the 3V1 body.
This SKU is supplied with DIN plug sockets, one per station: each coil is wired through a detachable connector, which keeps valve replacement quick on a machine that is serviced often. AirTAC also lists flying-lead (I-coded) 3V1 valves with a pre-wired lead-out for tight cabinets; order that entry style explicitly if you prefer it.
