The AirTAC AirTAC 4A210-06 Pneumatic Valve, 4A200 Series (4A21006) is a genuine 5/2-way single air pilot (spring return) air pilot valve with PT1/8 ports. It is a sliding-spool valve switched by a compressed-air signal instead of a coil, and it directs air to double-acting cylinders and actuators. The 4A200 body is published at 17.0 mm² effective area (Cv 1.0).
The AirTAC 4A21006 is a 5/2-way air pilot valve that directs compressed air to double-acting cylinders and actuators around Dia 32-50 mm. It has no coil inside: a 3/2 or 5/2 signal valve, hand lever or limit valve applies pilot air to throw the spool, and a return spring snaps it back the instant the signal is released. That makes the valve safe to mount wherever electrics are awkward - paint booths, dusty woodworking cells, wash-down lines or vibrating quarry plant.
This 06 version carries 1/8in PT (Rc tapered) ports on all three paths, so it seals on the flanks with PTFE tape rather than a face washer - the right pick if your existing pipework is already tapered. The published body figures are 17.0 mm2 effective area (Cv 1.0) and a no-load cycling rate of up to 5 cycles per second, with the whole aluminium-alloy valve weighing just 185 g. Air must be filtered by a 40 um element, and although lubrication is not required, a valve once run on lubricated air must stay lubricated.

Specifications follow the official AirTAC 4A series datasheet. AirTAC publishes the effective area / Cv published for the 1/4" port; other port and centre options of this body share the same casting but are not separately rated. Max frequency is the no-load figure. Confirm the thread standard (PT / G / NPT) against the product label before piping.

| Flow coefficient | Cv 1.0 |
| Control signal | Compressed air (exterior pilot) |
| Pilot ports | One pilot port; spring returns the spool |

Because there is nothing electrical in the valve, the 4A suits wash-down, explosive-atmosphere and high-vibration areas where a solenoid would need certification. Size the valve so effective area / Cv is not the bottleneck for your bore and speed; the 5/3 centre versions have a smaller effective area than the 5/2 of the same body.

In a spray booth, every spark source is a hazard. The 4A21006 runs its Dia 32-50 mm clamp cylinder on pilot air alone, driven by a foot pedal signal valve, so there is no coil or wiring inside the booth. The Cv 1.0 flow class keeps clamp strokes brisk at booth air pressures.
Saw and sander enclosures collect conductive dust that kills electrical parts. Mounted inside the guard, this valve switches a hold-down cylinder from a limit valve on the guard itself; with 17.0 mm2 effective area and 5 cycles per second no-load capability it keeps up with repeat clamping, and the 185 g body bolts on with two screws.
Tipper latches and tailgate locks on farm trailers sit metres from any control box. A single air line from a hand lever valve on the tractor drives this 5/2 valve, and the spring return closes the latch automatically whenever the lever is released - no battery, no solenoid, no harness to damage.
The 4A21006 sits mid-range in the 4A family. If your cylinder is small and speed is not critical, step down to the 4A100 body (Cv 0.6); if you need more flow for faster cycles or larger bores, step up to the 4A300 body (Cv 1.65). Choose this single-pilot 10 function when the cylinder must return automatically whenever the pilot signal stops - a two-hand control or a trip valve is a natural driver. Prefer the 20 function if you want a pulsed signal to hold position without a held signal. An air pilot beats a solenoid when there is no safe or cheap way to get power to the valve: one plastic signal line from a manual valve does the job, with no coil to burn out and no electrical certification in explosive or wet zones. For several valves on one machine, mount them on a 200M manifold base (up to 16 stations, 1/4in common inlet) instead of plumbing each one. When replacing an existing unit, match all four points: 4A200 body, function 10, 1/8in port, PT thread.
Quick checklist
It is a 5/2-way valve for double-acting cylinders and actuators, best matched to Dia 32-50 mm bores. Published figures for the 4A200 body: 17.0 mm2 effective area (Cv 1.0), a no-load maximum of 5 cycles per second, operating pressure 0.15-0.8 MPa (21-114 psi), proof pressure 1.2 MPa (175 psi) and 1/8in PT ports on supply, outlet and exhaust.
On this single-pilot (function 10) valve the signal must be HELD, not pulsed. While pilot air is applied the spool stays shifted and the cylinder is fed on one side; the moment the signal is vented, the built-in spring pushes the spool back and the cylinder reverses. The pilot signal comes from the same filtered (40 um) compressed-air supply - there is no separate electrical feed anywhere in the valve.
