About the Airtac ACPJ Adjustable Compact Cylinder ACPJ12X100-100S
This compact cylinder is double acting, with air extending and retracting the 6 mm rod through an M5x0.8 port. The -100 code sets a 100 mm adjustment window: a stop screw trims the extend stroke anywhere from 0 to 100 mm, and a fixed TPU bumper sits at both ends. Note that the 100 mm stroke exceeds the 50 mm maximum standard stroke for a 12 mm bore, so this unit is a made-to-order build. The ACPJ family is discontinued; the current-production replacement is ACEJ12X100, so confirm ISO 21287 mounting dimensions before swapping.
At 0.5 MPa the bore delivers 56.5 N push and 42.4 N pull, rising to 79.2 N push at 0.7 MPa with a theoretical ceiling of 11.5 kgf at 1.0 MPa. As a rule of thumb, plan on roughly 34 N of usable work, which lifts about 2.9 kg vertically with a 2:1 margin. The short ISO 21287-class body saves about 50% of the mounting length of an ISO 15552 profile cylinder, and the fitted -S magnet accepts CMSE / DMSE switches for end-of-stroke sensing.

Size up if 56.5 N at 0.5 MPa is marginal: the 16 mm bore gives 100.5 N push and the 20 mm bore 157.1 N in the same compact family. Size down only if the 100 mm made-to-order stroke is unnecessary, since a shorter standard build ships faster. The stop screw is a mechanical end stop for the extend stroke, not a mid-stroke lock, so the piston still drifts if air is lost. FA/FB flange and LB foot mountings bolt to the standard face, and the fitted -S magnet works with CMSE / DMSE switches. For new designs, order ACEJ12X100 instead.
