This model is discontinued
AirTAC has phased out the MAL series. The drop-in replacement is ACEJ12X100-10B — same bore, stroke, output force, port and mounting, so it fits the same application. Simply order the ACEJ12X100-10B in place of this model. The ACE replacement is a current-production ISO 21287 compact cylinder in the same bore, stroke and force class, with a matching short body and the same mounting-accessory family, so it fits the same envelope. Confirm mounting-interface dimensions against the ACE datasheet before ordering.

The AirTAC Airtac ACPJ Adjustable Compact Cylinder ACPJ12X100-10B is a double acting, adjustable stroke DIN-standard tight/compact air cylinder with a Ø12mm bore and 100mm stroke, M5×0.8 air ports and a hard-anodized aluminium body. This model is discontinued — the current-production replacement is the ACEJ12X100-10B (ISO 21287 ACE), in the same bore, stroke and force class.
This is a double acting compact cylinder with an adjustable extend stroke: a stop screw trims the 100 mm stroke by up to 10 mm, giving a usable range of 90-100 mm on site. The 12 mm bore delivers 56.5 N push and 42.4 N pull at 0.5 MPa, rising to 79.2 N push at 0.7 MPa, with a theoretical peak of 11.5 kgf at 1.0 MPa. The 100 mm stroke exceeds the 50 mm standard maximum for this bore, so it is a made-to-order build. Note that this ACPJ model is discontinued; the current-production replacement is ACEJ12X100.
The short ISO 21287-class body saves about 50% of the mounting length of an ISO 15552 profile cylinder, so it slots into slim fixtures and guard brackets. For sizing, plan on roughly 34 N of real work at 0.5 MPa (about 0.6 of the push rating), which lifts about 2.9 kg vertically with a 2:1 margin. The rod end is male thread (B code) and the air port is M5x0.8. No magnet is fitted on this version; the optional -S code adds one for CMSE / DMSE switches. Confirm ISO 21287 mounting dimensions before swapping to the ACEJ.

Specifications follow the official AirTAC ACP datasheet (now discontinued). The ACEJ12X100-10B (ISO 21287) carries the same bore/stroke/force class; confirm mounting-interface dimensions against the ACE datasheet before installation. Rod type: female thread (blank) or male thread (B). Thread options: PT (blank) / G.

|---|---|---|
| 0.5 MPa | 57 N | 42 N |
| 0.7 MPa | 79 N | 59 N |
| Max (@1.0 MPa) | 12 kgf | |
The ACEJ12X100-10B produces the same force from the same bore. Actual usable force is lower than theoretical; size with a margin.
| ACPJ | DIN compact cylinder (adjustable-stroke, discontinued). |
|---|---|
| 12 | Bore size in mm. |
| ×100 | Stroke length in mm. |
| -10 | Adjustable stroke window (mm the extend stroke can be shortened on site). |
| S | Optional built-in magnet for sensor position sensing (omit for no magnet). |
| B | Rod type: B = male thread; blank = female thread. |
Replacement mapping (swap P for E): ACP→ACE, ASP→ASE, ATP→ATE, ACPD→ACED, ACPJ→ACEJ. ACP-family: ACP (double acting), ASP / ATP (single acting push / pull), ACPD (double rod), ACPJ (adjustable stroke).
The 56.5 N push at 0.5 MPa suits light press-fitting of connectors and small pins in electronics assembly, with the 10 mm window fine-tuning the stop position.
A 90-100 mm extend range clamps or gates small PCB trays in automated test stations where a full-length profile cylinder will not fit.
About 2.9 kg of vertical lift capacity at a 2:1 margin covers lightweight stamping or labeling heads on tight packaging lines.
Bore 12 is the smallest in the family: 56.5 N push at 0.5 MPa. Step up to bore 16 for 100.5 N or bore 20 for 157.1 N if the load is heavier. This unit has a male rod thread and PT ports; FA flange and LB foot mounts bolt to the standard face. If you need position sensing, order the -S magnet version, since this code carries no magnet. The stop screw is a mechanical end stop for the extend stroke, not a mid-stroke lock, so the rod can drift if air is lost. For new projects, specify ACEJ12X100, the current drop-in successor.
Replacement checklist
At 0.5 MPa it pushes 56.5 N and pulls 42.4 N; at 0.7 MPa it pushes 79.2 N and pulls 59.4 N; theoretical maximum is 11.5 kgf at 1.0 MPa. Operating pressure is 0.15-1.0 MPa (22-145 psi), proof pressure 1.5 MPa (215 psi), speed 30-500 mm/s, temperature -20 to +70 C, fluid air filtered to 40 um. The stroke is 100 mm with a 10 mm adjustment window (90-100 mm usable), and this stroke is made to order since the bore 12 standard maximum is 50 mm.
An external stop screw shortens the extend stroke by up to 10 mm within the ordered window; it cannot lengthen the stroke past 100 mm, and it is an end stop only, not a load-holding brake. The ACPJ family is discontinued; the current-production replacement is ACEJ12X100, which matches the same bore, stroke and force class. Confirm the ISO 21287 mounting dimensions before swapping, since the ACP follows a DIN-standard footprint.
