This model is discontinued
AirTAC has phased out the MAL series. The drop-in replacement is ACEJ12X100-30B — same bore, stroke, output force, port and mounting, so it fits the same application. Simply order the ACEJ12X100-30B in place of this model. The ACE replacement is a current-production ISO 21287 compact cylinder in the same bore, stroke and force class, with a matching short body and the same mounting-accessory family, so it fits the same envelope. Confirm mounting-interface dimensions against the ACE datasheet before ordering.

The AirTAC Airtac ACPJ Adjustable Compact Cylinder ACPJ12X100-30B is a double acting, adjustable stroke DIN-standard tight/compact air cylinder with a Ø12mm bore and 100mm stroke, M5×0.8 air ports and a hard-anodized aluminium body. This model is discontinued — the current-production replacement is the ACEJ12X100-30B (ISO 21287 ACE), in the same bore, stroke and force class.
This double acting compact cylinder carries a 12 mm bore with a 100 mm stroke and a male rod thread (the B code). A stop screw trims the extend stroke anywhere inside the ordered 30 mm window, giving a usable range of 70-100 mm without changing the air supply. At 0.5 MPa it pushes 56.5 N and pulls 42.4 N; at 0.7 MPa those rise to 79.2 N and 59.4 N, with a theoretical maximum of 11.5 kgf at 1.0 MPa. The 100 mm stroke exceeds the 50 mm standard maximum for bore 12, so it is a non-standard, made-to-order length. Note the ACPJ family is discontinued: the current-production drop-in is the ACEJ12X100 in the same bore, stroke and force class.
The short ISO 21287-class body saves about 50% of the mounting length of an ISO 15552 profile cylinder, so it slots into slim jigs and guarded stations where a full-length body will not fit. A fixed TPU bumper sits at both ends. Plan on roughly 34 N (about 3.5 kgf) of real work at 0.5 MPa, which lifts roughly 2.9 kg vertically with a 2:1 margin. No magnet is fitted on this version, so no CMSE or DMSE switch can be mounted; order the optional -S code if sensing is needed. Running spec: 0.15-1.0 MPa (22-145 psi), 30-500 mm/s, air filtered to 40 um, -20 to +70 C.

Specifications follow the official AirTAC ACP datasheet (now discontinued). The ACEJ12X100-30B (ISO 21287) carries the same bore/stroke/force class; confirm mounting-interface dimensions against the ACE datasheet before installation. Rod type: female thread (blank) or male thread (B). Thread options: PT (blank) / G.

The ACEJ12X100-30B produces the same force from the same bore. Actual usable force is lower than theoretical; size with a margin.

Replacement mapping (swap P for E): ACP→ACE, ASP→ASE, ATP→ATE, ACPD→ACED, ACPJ→ACEJ. ACP-family: ACP (double acting), ASP / ATP (single acting push / pull), ACPD (double rod), ACPJ (adjustable stroke).
The 56.5 N push at 0.5 MPa is enough to strip tiny molded caps off a core pin, and the 30 mm window lets the operator trim the 100 mm stroke down to 70 mm so the ejector never bottoms out.
A light push probe verifies a connector is seated before soldering; the male rod thread (B code) takes a custom probe tip, and the 70-100 mm adjustable range adapts to different fixture heights.
The short body, roughly 50% shorter in mounting length than an ISO 15552 profile cylinder, fits inside the guard frame, and the 2.9 kg vertical-lift margin comfortably swings a lightweight latch arm.
At 56.5 N push (0.5 MPa) this bore suits light clamping and part-present checks; step up to the 16 mm bore (100.5 N) or 20 mm bore (157.1 N) if the load is heavier. The adjuster is a mechanical end stop for the extend stroke only - it does not lock the piston mid-stroke, and on air loss the rod still drifts, so do not use it to hold a load. FA/FB flange and LB foot mountings bolt to the standard face. Confirm the ISO 21287 mounting dimensions of the ACEJ12X100 before swapping from this discontinued model.
Replacement checklist
At 0.5 MPa it pushes 56.5 N and pulls 42.4 N; at 0.7 MPa it pushes 79.2 N and pulls 59.4 N; theoretical maximum is 11.5 kgf at 1.0 MPa. The -30 code gives a 30 mm adjustment window, so the extend stroke can be trimmed anywhere from 70 mm to the full 100 mm with a stop screw. The 100 mm stroke is non-standard for bore 12 (standard maximum is 50 mm), so it is made to order. Speed range is 30-500 mm/s at 0.15-1.0 MPa (22-145 psi).
Only if the optional -S magnet was ordered - this version has no magnet, so CMSE or DMSE reed or solid-state switches cannot be fitted as-is. The ACPJ family is discontinued; the current-production replacement is the ACEJ12X100, a drop-in successor in the same bore, stroke and force class. Confirm the ISO 21287 mounting dimensions before swapping, since the ACP was built to a DIN-standard footprint.
