About the Airtac ACPJ Adjustable Compact Cylinder ACPJ12X100-40
The ACPJ12X100-40 is a double acting compact cylinder with an adjustable extend stroke: a stop screw trims the ordered 100 mm stroke by up to 40 mm, giving a usable range of 60-100 mm. Bore 12 mm delivers 56.5 N push and 42.4 N pull at 0.5 MPa (79.2 N / 59.4 N at 0.7 MPa, 11.5 kgf theoretical max). The 100 mm stroke exceeds the 50 mm standard for this bore, so it is made to order. Note: this model is discontinued - the current-production drop-in is ACEJ12X100.
The short ISO 21287-class body saves about 50% of the mounting length of an ISO 15552 profile cylinder, so it slots into slim fixtures and guarded cells. Plan for roughly 34 N (about 3.4 kgf) of real work at 0.5 MPa, or lift about 2.9 kg vertically with a 2:1 margin. The hard-anodized aluminium body carries an S45C hard-chrome rod, fixed TPU bumpers at both ends, M5x0.8 ports and a female M3x0.5 rod thread. No magnet is fitted; order the optional -S code for CMSE / DMSE switches. Speed 30-500 mm/s, pressure 0.15-1.0 MPa (22-145 psi).

At 56.5 N push (0.5 MPa) this 12 mm bore suits light clamps and small part ejectors; step up to the 16 mm bore (100.5 N push) for roughly double the force, or down if you only need positioning. The adjuster is a mechanical end stop for the extend stroke only - it does not lock the piston, so the rod drifts if air is lost. FA/FB flange or LB foot mounting bolts to the ISO 21287 face. Because the ACPJ is discontinued, spec the ACEJ12X100 and confirm the ISO 21287 mounting dimensions before swapping.
