This model is discontinued
AirTAC has phased out the MAL series. The drop-in replacement is ACEJ12X100-50SB — same bore, stroke, output force, port and mounting, so it fits the same application. Simply order the ACEJ12X100-50SB in place of this model. The ACE replacement is a current-production ISO 21287 compact cylinder in the same bore, stroke and force class, with a matching short body and the same mounting-accessory family, so it fits the same envelope. Confirm mounting-interface dimensions against the ACE datasheet before ordering.

The AirTAC Airtac ACPJ Adjustable Compact Cylinder ACPJ12X100-50SB is a double acting, adjustable stroke DIN-standard tight/compact air cylinder with a Ø12mm bore and 100mm stroke, M5×0.8 air ports and a hard-anodized aluminium body. This model is discontinued — the current-production replacement is the ACEJ12X100-50SB (ISO 21287 ACE), in the same bore, stroke and force class.
Double acting and adjustable in stroke, the ACPJ12X100-50SB is a discontinued DIN-standard compact cylinder: 12 mm bore, 100 mm stroke and a 50 mm trim window, so an external stop screw shortens the extend stroke anywhere in a 50-100 mm range. At 0.5 MPa it pushes 56.5 N and pulls 42.4 N; at 0.7 MPa that rises to 79.2 N / 59.4 N, with a theoretical 11.5 kgf at 1.0 MPa. In practice plan for roughly 34 N of usable work at 0.5 MPa, which lifts about 2.9 kg vertically with a 2:1 margin. The 100 mm stroke exceeds the 50 mm maximum standard stroke for this bore, so it is a made-to-order build.
The short ISO 21287-class body saves about 50% of the mounting length of an ISO 15552 profile cylinder, so it slots into tight jigs and guard brackets where a full-length body will not fit. The hard-anodized aluminium body carries an S45C hard-chrome 6 mm rod with a male thread (B code), M5x0.8 ports, PT thread and fixed TPU bumpers at both ends. This model carries the optional -S magnet, so CMSE / DMSE reed or solid-state switches can be mounted for end-of-stroke sensing. It runs on air filtered to 40 um at 0.15-1.0 MPa (22-145 psi), 30-500 mm/s, -20 to +70 C. Discontinued: the current drop-in is the ACEJ12X100 - confirm ISO 21287 mounting dimensions before swapping.

Specifications follow the official AirTAC ACP datasheet (now discontinued). The ACEJ12X100-50SB (ISO 21287) carries the same bore/stroke/force class; confirm mounting-interface dimensions against the ACE datasheet before installation. Rod type: female thread (blank) or male thread (B). Thread options: PT (blank) / G.

|---|---|---|
| 0.5 MPa | 57 N | 42 N |
| 0.7 MPa | 79 N | 59 N |
| Max (@1.0 MPa) | 12 kgf | |
The ACEJ12X100-50SB produces the same force from the same bore. Actual usable force is lower than theoretical; size with a margin.

| B | Rod type: B = male thread; blank = female thread. |
Replacement mapping (swap P for E): ACP→ACE, ASP→ASE, ATP→ATE, ACPD→ACED, ACPJ→ACEJ. ACP-family: ACP (double acting), ASP / ATP (single acting push / pull), ACPD (double rod), ACPJ (adjustable stroke).
The 50-100 mm trim range lets a mold setter dial the eject stroke to the cavity depth on site, while 56.5 N at 0.5 MPa clears lightweight sprues and parts from a 12 mm pocket.
With the fitted -S magnet driving CMSE or DMSE switches, an electronics test bench confirms the trimmed extend position before a probe cycle starts, at 30-500 mm/s.
The short body, about 50% shorter in mounting length than an ISO 15552 profile cylinder, fits inside the instrument housing, and the male-threaded 6 mm rod takes a knuckle for the clamp arm.
Size both ways: if 56.5 N of push at 0.5 MPa is marginal, step up to the 16 mm bore for 100.5 N; if the load is under about 34 N of real work, this 12 mm bore keeps air use low. The 50 mm window trims the extend stroke only - it is a mechanical end stop, not a mid-stroke lock, so on air loss the piston still drifts and the stop never holds a load. FA/FB flange and LB foot mountings bolt to the standard face, and the fitted -S magnet accepts CMSE / DMSE switches. For new projects order the ACEJ12X100, the current-production successor in the same bore, stroke and force class.
Replacement checklist
At 0.5 MPa it pushes 56.5 N and pulls 42.4 N; at 0.7 MPa, 79.2 N push and 59.4 N pull; theoretical maximum is 11.5 kgf at 1.0 MPa. For sizing, treat about 34 N as the usable force at 0.5 MPa, which is roughly 2.9 kg of vertical lift with a 2:1 margin. Operating pressure is 0.15-1.0 MPa (22-145 psi), proof 1.5 MPa (215 psi), speed 30-500 mm/s.
The -50 code sets a 50 mm window: an external stop screw shortens the 100 mm extend stroke anywhere between 50 and 100 mm, and fixed TPU bumpers decelerate at both ends. The model is discontinued; the current-production replacement is the ACEJ12X100 in the same bore, stroke and force class - confirm the ISO 21287 mounting dimensions before swapping, since the ACP is DIN-standard.
