AirTAC has phased out the MAL series. The drop-in replacement is ACEJ12X100-75B — same bore, stroke, output force, port and mounting, so it fits the same application. The ACE replacement is a current-production ISO 21287 compact cylinder in the same bore, stroke and force class, with a matching short body and the same mounting-accessory family, so it fits the same envelope. The AirTAC Airtac ACPJ Adjustable Compact Cylinder ACPJ12X100-75B is a double acting, adjustable stroke DIN-standard tight/compact air cylinder with a Ø12mm bore and 100mm stroke, M5×0.8 air ports and a hard-anodized aluminium body. This model is discontinued — the current-production replacement is the ACEJ12X100-75B (ISO 21287 ACE), in the same bore, stroke and force class.
The ACPJ12X100-75B is a double acting compact cylinder with an adjustable extend stroke: a stop screw trims the 100 mm stroke by up to 75 mm, giving a usable range of 25-100 mm. Air works on both faces of the 12 mm piston, so at 0.5 MPa it pushes 56.5 N and pulls 42.4 N, rising to 79.2 N and 59.4 N at 0.7 MPa. The 100 mm stroke exceeds the 50 mm standard limit for this bore, so it is a made-to-order build. This model is discontinued; the current-production replacement is the ACEJ12X100, a drop-in ISO 21287 successor in the same bore, stroke and force class.
The short ISO 21287-class body saves about 50% of the mounting length of an ISO 15552 profile cylinder, which is why it suits tight jigs, guards and gantries. A fixed TPU bumper sits at both ends, and the hard-anodized aluminium body carries an S45C hard-chrome 6 mm rod with a male thread (the B code). Because there is no S in this code, no magnet is fitted, so CMSE / DMSE switches cannot be used; order the -S variant if sensing is needed. As a sizing rule of thumb, plan on roughly 34 N of real work at 0.5 MPa, which lifts about 2.9 kg vertically with a 2:1 margin.

Replacement mapping (swap P for E): ACP→ACE, ASP→ASE, ATP→ATE, ACPD→ACED, ACPJ→ACEJ. ACP-family: ACP (double acting), ASP / ATP (single acting push / pull), ACPD (double rod), ACPJ (adjustable stroke).
A 34 N usable push at 0.5 MPa is enough to strip light aluminium stampings off a die, and the 25-100 mm trim range lets one cylinder serve several die heights.
The short body fits inside compact analytical and diagnostic equipment, and the male-threaded 6 mm rod bolts straight to custom tooling plates.
With about 2.9 kg of vertical lift capacity at a 2:1 margin, it lowers lightweight camera or sensor heads in inspection gantries; add the -S magnet code if position switches are required.
If 56.5 N of push at 0.5 MPa is marginal for your jig, step up to the 16 mm bore for 100.5 N; if the load is under about 20 N, the same 12 mm bore in a shorter fixed-stroke ACP may be cheaper. The stop screw only shortens the extend stroke and is not a mid-stroke lock: on air loss the piston still drifts, so do not rely on it to hold a load. Match FA/FB flange or LB foot hardware to the ISO 21287 face, and confirm the ISO 21287 mounting dimensions of the ACEJ12X100 before swapping from this discontinued DIN-standard model.

The -75 code is a 75 mm adjustment window: an external stop screw shortens the 100 mm extend stroke on site, so the effective range is 25-100 mm; it cannot lengthen the stroke past 100 mm. The fixed TPU bumpers only decelerate at the ends. This model is discontinued - the ACEJ12X100 is the current ISO 21287 drop-in, so confirm its mounting dimensions before swapping.
