This model is discontinued
AirTAC has phased out the MAL series. The drop-in replacement is ACEJ12X110-100 — same bore, stroke, output force, port and mounting, so it fits the same application. Simply order the ACEJ12X110-100 in place of this model. The ACE replacement is a current-production ISO 21287 compact cylinder in the same bore, stroke and force class, with a matching short body and the same mounting-accessory family, so it fits the same envelope. Confirm mounting-interface dimensions against the ACE datasheet before ordering.

The AirTAC Airtac ACPJ Adjustable Compact Cylinder ACPJ12X110-100 is a double acting, adjustable stroke DIN-standard tight/compact air cylinder with a Ø12mm bore and 110mm stroke, M5×0.8 air ports and a hard-anodized aluminium body. This model is discontinued — the current-production replacement is the ACEJ12X110-100 (ISO 21287 ACE), in the same bore, stroke and force class.
The ACPJ12X110-100 is a double acting compact cylinder with an adjustable stroke, now discontinued. Its 12 mm bore delivers 56.5 N push and 42.4 N pull at 0.5 MPa (rising to 79.2 N push at 0.7 MPa), and the -100 code gives a 100 mm adjustment window: an external stop screw trims the extend stroke anywhere from 10 to 110 mm on site. The 110 mm stroke exceeds the 50 mm standard limit for this bore, so it is a made-to-order build. The short ISO 21287-class body saves about 50% of the mounting length of an ISO 15552 profile cylinder, which is why it fits tight jigs and guards.
Built with a hard-anodized aluminium body, S45C hard-chrome rod, fixed TPU bumpers at both ends and a female M3x0.5 rod thread, it runs on air filtered to 40 um at 0.15-1.0 MPa (22-145 psi) with speeds of 30-500 mm/s. Plan on roughly 34 N of usable push at 0.5 MPa (about 60% of rating), which lifts about 2.9 kg vertically with a 2:1 margin. Note this model has no magnet fitted, so no CMSE or DMSE sensor can be mounted unless you order the optional -S version. For new projects, the current-production replacement is the ACEJ12X110 - confirm ISO 21287 mounting dimensions before swapping.

Specifications follow the official AirTAC ACP datasheet (now discontinued). The ACEJ12X110-100 (ISO 21287) carries the same bore/stroke/force class; confirm mounting-interface dimensions against the ACE datasheet before installation. Rod type: female thread (blank) or male thread (B). Thread options: PT (blank) / G.
| Pressure | Push force | Pull force |
|---|---|---|
| 0.5 MPa | 57 N | 42 N |
| 0.7 MPa | 79 N | 59 N |
| Max (@1.0 MPa) | 12 kgf | |
The ACEJ12X110-100 produces the same force from the same bore. Actual usable force is lower than theoretical; size with a margin.
| ACPJ | DIN compact cylinder (adjustable-stroke, discontinued). |
|---|---|
| 12 | Bore size in mm. |
| ×110 | Stroke length in mm. |
| -100 | Adjustable stroke window (mm the extend stroke can be shortened on site). |
| S | Optional built-in magnet for sensor position sensing (omit for no magnet). |
| B | Rod type: B = male thread; blank = female thread. |
Replacement mapping (swap P for E): ACP→ACE, ASP→ASE, ATP→ATE, ACPD→ACED, ACPJ→ACEJ. ACP-family: ACP (double acting), ASP / ATP (single acting push / pull), ACPD (double rod), ACPJ (adjustable stroke).
Trims the extend stroke down to as little as 10 mm so a 12 mm bore can eject finished watch or electronics parts from a fixture without overtravel.
With the optional -S magnet and CMSE or DMSE switches, this model confirms a 10-110 mm clamped position on PCB or connector test benches; without -S no sensing is possible.
Applies about 34 N of working force at 0.5 MPa to seat small bushings or labels in compact assembly heads where a full-length cylinder will not fit.
Size the bore by load: if your jig needs more than about 34 N of working force at 0.5 MPa, step up to the 16 mm bore (100.5 N push) or the 20 mm bore (157.1 N push); if 56.5 N is ample, this 12 mm unit keeps the envelope smallest. The stop screw only shortens the extend stroke within the 100 mm window - it is a mechanical end stop, not a mid-stroke lock, so the rod can still drift if air is lost. Mounting uses FA/FB flanges or LB feet on the ISO 21287 face. This model is discontinued; order the ACEJ12X110 as the drop-in successor and verify mounting dimensions first.
Replacement checklist
At 0.5 MPa it pushes 56.5 N and pulls 42.4 N; at 0.7 MPa it pushes 79.2 N and pulls 59.4 N; theoretical maximum is 11.5 kgf at 1.0 MPa. It is double acting with a 110 mm stroke adjustable down to 10 mm via the -100 stop screw, an M5x0.8 port, a female M3x0.5 rod thread, TPU bumpers both ends, speed 30-500 mm/s and pressure 0.15-1.0 MPa (22-145 psi). The 110 mm stroke is made to order since the bore 12 standard limit is 50 mm.
Only if the cylinder was ordered with the optional -S magnet; this version has no magnet, so CMSE or DMSE switches cannot be fitted. The ACPJ family is discontinued - the current-production replacement is the ACEJ12X110, a drop-in in the same bore, stroke and force class. Confirm the ISO 21287 mounting dimensions before swapping, since the ACP follows the DIN standard.
