This model is discontinued
AirTAC has phased out the MAL series. The drop-in replacement is ACEJ12X110-10B — same bore, stroke, output force, port and mounting, so it fits the same application. Simply order the ACEJ12X110-10B in place of this model. The ACE replacement is a current-production ISO 21287 compact cylinder in the same bore, stroke and force class, with a matching short body and the same mounting-accessory family, so it fits the same envelope. Confirm mounting-interface dimensions against the ACE datasheet before ordering.

The AirTAC Airtac ACPJ Adjustable Compact Cylinder ACPJ12X110-10B is a double acting, adjustable stroke DIN-standard tight/compact air cylinder with a Ø12mm bore and 110mm stroke, M5×0.8 air ports and a hard-anodized aluminium body. This model is discontinued — the current-production replacement is the ACEJ12X110-10B (ISO 21287 ACE), in the same bore, stroke and force class.
This double acting compact cylinder trims its extend stroke on site: the -10 code gives a 10 mm stop-screw window, so the 110 mm stroke can be shortened anywhere between 100 and 110 mm to suit the jig. The 12 mm bore delivers 56.5 N push and 42.4 N pull at 0.5 MPa (79.2 N / 59.4 N at 0.7 MPa), with a fixed TPU bumper at each end and speeds of 30-500 mm/s. Note that the 110 mm stroke exceeds the 50 mm standard maximum for bore 12, so this is a made-to-order build.
The short ISO 21287-class body saves roughly 50% of the mounting length of an ISO 15552 profile cylinder, which is why it slots into slim fixtures and guarded assemblies. In practice, plan on about 34 N of usable push at 0.5 MPa (roughly 60% of the rating), which lifts about 2.9 kg vertically with a 2:1 margin. The rod end is male thread (B code) and the ports are M5x0.8. This model is discontinued; the current-production replacement is ACEJ12X110 - confirm the ISO 21287 mounting dimensions before swapping, since the ACP is DIN-standard.

Specifications follow the official AirTAC ACP datasheet (now discontinued). The ACEJ12X110-10B (ISO 21287) carries the same bore/stroke/force class; confirm mounting-interface dimensions against the ACE datasheet before installation. Rod type: female thread (blank) or male thread (B). Thread options: PT (blank) / G.

|---|---|---|
| 0.5 MPa | 57 N | 42 N |
| 0.7 MPa | 79 N | 59 N |
| Max (@1.0 MPa) | 12 kgf | |
The ACEJ12X110-10B produces the same force from the same bore. Actual usable force is lower than theoretical; size with a margin.
| ACPJ | DIN compact cylinder (adjustable-stroke, discontinued). |
|---|---|
| 12 | Bore size in mm. |
| ×110 | Stroke length in mm. |
| -10 | Adjustable stroke window (mm the extend stroke can be shortened on site). |
| S | Optional built-in magnet for sensor position sensing (omit for no magnet). |
| B | Rod type: B = male thread; blank = female thread. |
Replacement mapping (swap P for E): ACP→ACE, ASP→ASE, ATP→ATE, ACPD→ACED, ACPJ→ACEJ. ACP-family: ACP (double acting), ASP / ATP (single acting push / pull), ACPD (double rod), ACPJ (adjustable stroke).
The 56.5 N push at 0.5 MPa is enough to kick stamped terminals or plastic caps off a nest, and the 10 mm trim window lets the setter dial the eject travel between 100 and 110 mm without shimming.
A 2.9 kg vertical-lift equivalent covers lightweight shutter plates, and the short body fits inside the tight housing envelope where a full-length profile cylinder cannot.
The male-thread rod (B code) takes a knuckle directly, sweeping light cartons off the labeler belt at 30-500 mm/s with the TPU bumper softening both ends of travel.
Size both ways before ordering: at 0.5 MPa the 12 mm bore gives 56.5 N push, while the 16 mm bore reaches 100.5 N and the 20 mm bore 157.1 N - step up if your load needs more than about 34 N of working force. The stop screw only shortens the extend stroke; it is not a mid-stroke lock, so the rod can still drift on air loss. Mounting is FA/FB flange or LB foot, and the rod thread here is male (B). No magnet is fitted on this version - order the -S code if you need CMSE / DMSE switch positions. For new designs, specify the ACEJ12X110 instead.
Replacement checklist
At 0.5 MPa it pushes 56.5 N and pulls 42.4 N; at 0.7 MPa that rises to 79.2 N push and 59.4 N pull, with a theoretical maximum of 11.5 kgf at 1.0 MPa. Operating pressure is 0.15-1.0 MPa (22-145 psi), proof pressure 1.5 MPa (215 psi), speed 30-500 mm/s, temperature -20 to +70 C, fluid air filtered to 40 um, port M5x0.8, rod 6 mm with male thread. The 110 mm stroke is made to order because the bore 12 standard maximum is 50 mm.
The -10 code adds an external stop screw that shortens the extend stroke by up to 10 mm, giving a usable range of 100-110 mm; it cannot lengthen the stroke past 110 mm, and it does not hold a load if air is lost. The ACPJ family is discontinued - the current drop-in is the ACEJ12X110 (same bore, stroke and force class). Confirm the ISO 21287 mounting dimensions before swapping, as the ACP is DIN-standard.
