This model is discontinued
AirTAC has phased out the MAL series. The drop-in replacement is ACEJ12X110-10SB — same bore, stroke, output force, port and mounting, so it fits the same application. Simply order the ACEJ12X110-10SB in place of this model. The ACE replacement is a current-production ISO 21287 compact cylinder in the same bore, stroke and force class, with a matching short body and the same mounting-accessory family, so it fits the same envelope. Confirm mounting-interface dimensions against the ACE datasheet before ordering.

The AirTAC Airtac ACPJ Adjustable Compact Cylinder ACPJ12X110-10SB is a double acting, adjustable stroke DIN-standard tight/compact air cylinder with a Ø12mm bore and 110mm stroke, M5×0.8 air ports and a hard-anodized aluminium body. This model is discontinued — the current-production replacement is the ACEJ12X110-10SB (ISO 21287 ACE), in the same bore, stroke and force class.
The ACPJ12X110-10SB is a double acting compact cylinder with an adjustable stroke: a stop screw trims the extend stroke by up to 10 mm inside the ordered 110 mm, giving a usable range of 100-110 mm. The 12 mm bore delivers 56.5 N push and 42.4 N pull at 0.5 MPa (79.2 / 59.4 N at 0.7 MPa), with a theoretical ceiling of 11.5 kgf at 1.0 MPa. Air supply is 0.15-1.0 MPa (22-145 psi), filtered to 40 um, and rod speed runs 30-500 mm/s.
The short ISO 21287-class body saves roughly 50% of the mounting length of an ISO 15552 profile cylinder, so it slots into slim fixtures and guarding where a full-length body cannot. The 110 mm stroke is beyond the 50 mm standard maximum for this bore, so it is a made-to-order build. As a sizing rule, plan on about 34 N of real work at 0.5 MPa (roughly 60% of rated push), which lifts about 2.8 kg vertically with a 2:1 margin. The -S magnet is fitted on this model, so CMSE / DMSE switches can be mounted, and the B code gives a male rod thread. Note this ACPJ is discontinued; the current-production drop-in is ACEJ12X110 - confirm ISO 21287 mounting dimensions before swapping.

Specifications follow the official AirTAC ACP datasheet (now discontinued). The ACEJ12X110-10SB (ISO 21287) carries the same bore/stroke/force class; confirm mounting-interface dimensions against the ACE datasheet before installation. Rod type: female thread (blank) or male thread (B). Thread options: PT (blank) / G.
| Pressure | Push force | Pull force |
|---|---|---|
| 0.5 MPa | 57 N | 42 N |
| 0.7 MPa | 79 N | 59 N |
| Max (@1.0 MPa) | 12 kgf | |
The ACEJ12X110-10SB produces the same force from the same bore. Actual usable force is lower than theoretical; size with a margin.
| ACPJ | DIN compact cylinder (adjustable-stroke, discontinued). |
|---|---|
| 12 | Bore size in mm. |
| ×110 | Stroke length in mm. |
| -10 | Adjustable stroke window (mm the extend stroke can be shortened on site). |
| S | Optional built-in magnet for sensor position sensing (omit for no magnet). |
| B | Rod type: B = male thread; blank = female thread. |
Replacement mapping (swap P for E): ACP→ACE, ASP→ASE, ATP→ATE, ACPD→ACED, ACPJ→ACEJ. ACP-family: ACP (double acting), ASP / ATP (single acting push / pull), ACPD (double rod), ACPJ (adjustable stroke).
The fitted -S magnet accepts CMSE / DMSE switches, so the controller confirms the 100-110 mm trimmed extend stroke before the fixture indexes, at speeds up to 500 mm/s.
About 34 N of usable push at 0.5 MPa is enough to hold tiny components without marking them, and the short body fits inside a compact jig plate.
The 10 mm adjustment window lets a technician dial the extend stroke between 100 and 110 mm to seat vials precisely, with the male rod thread taking a custom pusher tip.
At 12 mm bore this is the smallest force class in the range: 56.5 N push at 0.5 MPa. Step up to the 16 mm bore for 100.5 N push or the 20 mm bore for 157.1 N at the same pressure if the load needs more margin. The adjuster is a mechanical end stop for the extend stroke only - it does not lock the piston, so on air loss the rod can drift and an external brake is needed for load holding. Match FA/FB flange or LB foot hardware to the ISO 21287 face, and remember the magnet is only present when the -S code is ordered (it is on this model). For new designs, specify the ACEJ12X110 instead, since ACPJ is discontinued.
Replacement checklist
At 0.5 MPa it pushes 56.5 N and pulls 42.4 N; at 0.7 MPa those rise to 79.2 N and 59.4 N, with a theoretical maximum of 11.5 kgf at 1.0 MPa. It is double acting with a 10 mm adjustment window on the 110 mm stroke, a 6 mm rod with male thread, an M5x0.8 port, TPU bumpers at both ends, and a speed range of 30-500 mm/s. The 110 mm stroke is a made-to-order length because the bore 12 standard maximum is 50 mm.
No - the ACPJ family is discontinued. The current-production replacement is ACEJ12X110, which keeps the same bore, stroke and force class in a short ISO 21287 body. Because the ACP is DIN-standard, confirm the ISO 21287 mounting dimensions against your fixture before swapping, and check FA/FB flange or LB foot hardware fits the new face.
