This model is discontinued
AirTAC has phased out the MAL series. The drop-in replacement is ACEJ12X110-20S — same bore, stroke, output force, port and mounting, so it fits the same application. Simply order the ACEJ12X110-20S in place of this model. The ACE replacement is a current-production ISO 21287 compact cylinder in the same bore, stroke and force class, with a matching short body and the same mounting-accessory family, so it fits the same envelope. Confirm mounting-interface dimensions against the ACE datasheet before ordering.

The AirTAC Airtac ACPJ Adjustable Compact Cylinder ACPJ12X110-20S is a double acting, adjustable stroke DIN-standard tight/compact air cylinder with a Ø12mm bore and 110mm stroke, M5×0.8 air ports and a hard-anodized aluminium body. This model is discontinued — the current-production replacement is the ACEJ12X110-20S (ISO 21287 ACE), in the same bore, stroke and force class.
Double acting and adjustable, the ACPJ12X110-20S is a discontinued DIN-standard compact cylinder with a 12 mm bore and a 110 mm stroke that a stop screw trims by up to 20 mm, giving a usable extend range of 90-110 mm. At 0.5 MPa it pushes 56.5 N and pulls 42.4 N, rising to 79.2 N push at 0.7 MPa, with a theoretical peak of 11.5 kgf at 1.0 MPa. The 110 mm stroke exceeds the 50 mm standard maximum for bore 12, so it is made to order.
The short ISO 21287-class body saves roughly 50% of the mounting length of an ISO 15552 profile cylinder, which is why it suits slim guards and tight jig plates. Since about 0.6 of the push rating does real work at 0.5 MPa, plan for roughly 34 N, which lifts about 3 kg vertically with a 2:1 margin. This unit carries the optional -S magnet, so CMSE or DMSE switches can read position. It is discontinued; the current drop-in is ACEJ12X110, but confirm ISO 21287 mounting dimensions before swapping.

Specifications follow the official AirTAC ACP datasheet (now discontinued). The ACEJ12X110-20S (ISO 21287) carries the same bore/stroke/force class; confirm mounting-interface dimensions against the ACE datasheet before installation. Rod type: female thread (blank) or male thread (B). Thread options: PT (blank) / G.

|---|---|---|
| 0.5 MPa | 57 N | 42 N |
| 0.7 MPa | 79 N | 59 N |
| Max (@1.0 MPa) | 12 kgf | |
The ACEJ12X110-20S produces the same force from the same bore. Actual usable force is lower than theoretical; size with a margin.

| 12 | Bore size in mm. |
| ×110 | Stroke length in mm. |
| -20 | Adjustable stroke window (mm the extend stroke can be shortened on site). |

Replacement mapping (swap P for E): ACP→ACE, ASP→ASE, ATP→ATE, ACPD→ACED, ACPJ→ACEJ. ACP-family: ACP (double acting), ASP / ATP (single acting push / pull), ACPD (double rod), ACPJ (adjustable stroke).
The 56.5 N push clears small boards from a nest, and the fitted magnet with a CMSE switch confirms full retract before the next cycle starts.
A 90-110 mm extend range from the 20 mm adjust window lets one cylinder serve two part heights, holding about 34 N of usable clamp force at 0.5 MPa.
With about 3 kg vertical lift capacity at a 2:1 margin, the 6 mm rod raises vials or trays inside a frame too narrow for a full-length profile cylinder.
At 12 mm bore this is the smallest ACPJ size: 56.5 N push at 0.5 MPa. If your load needs more, the 16 mm bore delivers 100.5 N and the 20 mm bore 157.1 N at the same pressure. The 20 mm adjust window shortens the extend stroke only - it never lengthens past 110 mm and it is a mechanical end stop, not a mid-stroke lock, so the rod still drifts on air loss. FA flange or LB foot mounts bolt to the ISO 21287 face, and the fitted -S magnet accepts CMSE / DMSE switches. Order ACEJ12X110 as the current-production replacement and verify mounting dimensions.
Replacement checklist
At 0.5 MPa it pushes 56.5 N and pulls 42.4 N; at 0.7 MPa it pushes 79.2 N and pulls 59.4 N; theoretical maximum is 11.5 kgf at 1.0 MPa. The -20 code sets a 20 mm adjustment window: an external stop screw shortens the 110 mm extend stroke to any length down to 90 mm. The stop is a mechanical end stop only - on air loss the piston still drifts. The 110 mm stroke is non-standard for bore 12 (standard max 50 mm) and is made to order.
No - the ACPJ family is discontinued. The current-production drop-in is ACEJ12X110, an ISO 21287 compact cylinder in the same bore, stroke and force class. Because the ACP is DIN-standard, confirm the ISO 21287 mounting dimensions before swapping. This unit has the optional -S magnet fitted for CMSE / DMSE switches; running 0.15-1.0 MPa (22-145 psi) air filtered to 40 um at 30-500 mm/s, with a fixed TPU bumper at both ends.
