This model is discontinued
AirTAC has phased out the MAL series. The drop-in replacement is ACEJ12X110-30B — same bore, stroke, output force, port and mounting, so it fits the same application. Simply order the ACEJ12X110-30B in place of this model. The ACE replacement is a current-production ISO 21287 compact cylinder in the same bore, stroke and force class, with a matching short body and the same mounting-accessory family, so it fits the same envelope. Confirm mounting-interface dimensions against the ACE datasheet before ordering.

The AirTAC Airtac ACPJ Adjustable Compact Cylinder ACPJ12X110-30B is a double acting, adjustable stroke DIN-standard tight/compact air cylinder with a Ø12mm bore and 110mm stroke, M5×0.8 air ports and a hard-anodized aluminium body. This model is discontinued — the current-production replacement is the ACEJ12X110-30B (ISO 21287 ACE), in the same bore, stroke and force class.
This double acting compact cylinder trims its extend stroke on site: the -30 stop screw shortens the 110 mm stroke by up to 30 mm, giving a usable 80-110 mm window. The 12 mm bore delivers 56.5 N push and 42.4 N pull at 0.5 MPa, rising to 79.2 N push at 0.7 MPa. The 110 mm stroke exceeds the 50 mm standard maximum for this bore, so it is a made-to-order build.
The short ISO 21287-class body saves about 50% of the mounting length of an ISO 15552 profile cylinder, which is why it slots into slim fixtures and guarded cells. In practice, plan on roughly 34 N of usable push at 0.5 MPa (about 0.6 of the rating), which lifts around 2.9 kg vertically with a 2:1 margin. Note: this ACPJ model is discontinued; the current-production drop-in is ACEJ12X110 - confirm ISO 21287 mounting dimensions before swapping, since the ACP is DIN-standard.

Specifications follow the official AirTAC ACP datasheet (now discontinued). The ACEJ12X110-30B (ISO 21287) carries the same bore/stroke/force class; confirm mounting-interface dimensions against the ACE datasheet before installation. Rod type: female thread (blank) or male thread (B). Thread options: PT (blank) / G.
| Pressure | Push force | Pull force |
|---|---|---|
| 0.5 MPa | 57 N | 42 N |
| 0.7 MPa | 79 N | 59 N |
| Max (@1.0 MPa) | 12 kgf | |
The ACEJ12X110-30B produces the same force from the same bore. Actual usable force is lower than theoretical; size with a margin.
| ACPJ | DIN compact cylinder (adjustable-stroke, discontinued). |
|---|---|
| 12 | Bore size in mm. |
| ×110 | Stroke length in mm. |
| -30 | Adjustable stroke window (mm the extend stroke can be shortened on site). |
| S | Optional built-in magnet for sensor position sensing (omit for no magnet). |
| B | Rod type: B = male thread; blank = female thread. |
Replacement mapping (swap P for E): ACP→ACE, ASP→ASE, ATP→ATE, ACPD→ACED, ACPJ→ACEJ. ACP-family: ACP (double acting), ASP / ATP (single acting push / pull), ACPD (double rod), ACPJ (adjustable stroke).
The 80-110 mm adjustable window lets the setter dial the eject stroke to clear a shallow cavity, with 56.5 N enough to push light nylon or POM parts off the core.
A short 12 mm-bore pusher verifies a PCB or connector is seated in a test nest; with the optional -S magnet, CMSE / DMSE switches report end positions inside a tight fixture.
The rod lifts about 2.9 kg vertically with a 2:1 margin at 0.5 MPa, fitting small sample trays or sensor heads in compact analysis instruments.
At 56.5 N push (0.5 MPa) this bore suits light clamping and part-presenting; step up to a 16 mm bore (100.5 N) for heavier loads or down to a smaller stroke if 110 mm is more than the jig needs. The adjuster is a mechanical end stop for the extend stroke only - it does not hold a load on air loss. Rod end is male thread (B code); FA/FB flange and LB foot mountings bolt to the ISO 21287 face. No magnet is fitted - order the -S code if CMSE / DMSE switches are needed. Replacement: ACEJ12X110.
Replacement checklist
Push is 56.5 N and pull is 42.4 N at 0.5 MPa; at 0.7 MPa push is 79.2 N and pull is 59.4 N. Theoretical maximum is 11.5 kgf at 1.0 MPa. The -30 code gives a 30 mm adjustment window, so the 110 mm extend stroke can be trimmed anywhere from 80 to 110 mm with the external stop screw. Operating pressure is 0.15-1.0 MPa (22-145 psi) and speed is 30-500 mm/s.
The hard-anodized aluminium body is an ISO 21287-class short build, saving about 50% of the mounting length of an ISO 15552 profile cylinder, with a fixed TPU bumper at each end and an M5x0.8 port. The ACPJ family is discontinued; the current-production drop-in is ACEJ12X110 (swap the P for an E) in the same bore, stroke and force class - confirm the ISO 21287 mounting dimensions before swapping, since the ACP is DIN-standard.
