This model is discontinued
AirTAC has phased out the MAL series. The drop-in replacement is ACEJ12X110-30 — same bore, stroke, output force, port and mounting, so it fits the same application. Simply order the ACEJ12X110-30 in place of this model. The ACE replacement is a current-production ISO 21287 compact cylinder in the same bore, stroke and force class, with a matching short body and the same mounting-accessory family, so it fits the same envelope. Confirm mounting-interface dimensions against the ACE datasheet before ordering.

The AirTAC Airtac ACPJ Adjustable Compact Cylinder ACPJ12X110-30 is a double acting, adjustable stroke DIN-standard tight/compact air cylinder with a Ø12mm bore and 110mm stroke, M5×0.8 air ports and a hard-anodized aluminium body. This model is discontinued — the current-production replacement is the ACEJ12X110-30 (ISO 21287 ACE), in the same bore, stroke and force class.
The ACPJ12X110-30 is a double acting compact cylinder with an adjustable extend stroke: a stop screw trims the 110 mm stroke by up to 30 mm, giving a usable range of 80-110 mm on site. This 12 mm bore size delivers 56.5 N push and 42.4 N pull at 0.5 MPa, rising to 79.2 N push at 0.7 MPa, with a theoretical peak of 11.5 kgf at 1.0 MPa. The 110 mm stroke exceeds the 50 mm standard maximum for bore 12, so it is a made-to-order build. Note: this model is discontinued; the current-production replacement is the ACEJ12X110.
The short ISO 21287-class body saves roughly 50% of the mounting length of an ISO 15552 profile cylinder, so it slots into slim fixtures, test rigs and small gantries. A practical sizing rule: plan on about 34 N of usable push at 0.5 MPa (roughly 0.6 of the rated force), which lifts about 2.9 kg vertically with a 2:1 margin. The hard-anodized aluminium body carries an S45C hard-chrome rod, fixed TPU bumpers at both ends, and runs at 30-500 mm/s on air filtered to 40 um.

Specifications follow the official AirTAC ACP datasheet (now discontinued). The ACEJ12X110-30 (ISO 21287) carries the same bore/stroke/force class; confirm mounting-interface dimensions against the ACE datasheet before installation. Rod type: female thread (blank) or male thread (B). Thread options: PT (blank) / G.
| Pressure | Push force | Pull force |
|---|---|---|
| 0.5 MPa | 57 N | 42 N |
| 0.7 MPa | 79 N | 59 N |
| Max (@1.0 MPa) | 12 kgf | |
The ACEJ12X110-30 produces the same force from the same bore. Actual usable force is lower than theoretical; size with a margin.
| ACPJ | DIN compact cylinder (adjustable-stroke, discontinued). |
|---|---|
| 12 | Bore size in mm. |
| ×110 | Stroke length in mm. |
| -30 | Adjustable stroke window (mm the extend stroke can be shortened on site). |
| S | Optional built-in magnet for sensor position sensing (omit for no magnet). |
| B | Rod type: B = male thread; blank = female thread. |
Replacement mapping (swap P for E): ACP→ACE, ASP→ASE, ATP→ATE, ACPD→ACED, ACPJ→ACEJ. ACP-family: ACP (double acting), ASP / ATP (single acting push / pull), ACPD (double rod), ACPJ (adjustable stroke).
The 56.5 N push at 0.5 MPa slides sample trays or microscope slides between stations, with the 80-110 mm adjustable range tuned to each fixture.
Ejects pins, springs or molded micro-parts from a machining or molding nest; the 30 mm trim window lets one cylinder serve several die positions.
With the optional -S magnet and CMSE / DMSE switches, the short body fits inside a benchtop go/no-go gauge where a full-length cylinder cannot.
At 12 mm bore this is the smallest ACPJ size: the 16 mm bore gives 100.5 N push and the 20 mm bore 157.1 N push at 0.5 MPa if you need more force. Choose the female M3x0.5 rod thread here for knuckle or bracket attachment, and match FA flange or LB foot mounting to your fixture. The stop screw only shortens the extend stroke within the 30 mm window and is not a mid-stroke lock, so the rod can drift if air is lost. For position sensing you must order the optional -S magnet code to enable CMSE / DMSE switches. Since the ACPJ is discontinued, order the ACEJ12X110 and confirm the ISO 21287 mounting dimensions before swapping.
Replacement checklist
At 0.5 MPa it pushes 56.5 N and pulls 42.4 N; at 0.7 MPa it pushes 79.2 N and pulls 59.4 N, with a theoretical maximum of 11.5 kgf at 1.0 MPa. The -30 code gives a 30 mm adjustment window, so the stop screw trims the 110 mm extend stroke anywhere in an 80-110 mm range. The 110 mm stroke is a made-to-order length because bore 12 normally tops out at 50 mm standard.
The short ISO 21287-class aluminium body saves about 50% of the mounting length of an ISO 15552 profile cylinder, with FA flange or LB foot mounting and an M5x0.8 port. Position sensing requires the optional -S magnet code, which allows CMSE / DMSE switches; without -S there is no magnet. This model is discontinued, so specify the ACEJ12X110 as the current drop-in and confirm the ISO 21287 mounting dimensions first.
