The AirTAC Airtac ACPJ Adjustable Compact Cylinder ACPJ12X110-40S is a double acting, adjustable stroke DIN-standard tight/compact air cylinder with a Ø12mm bore and 110mm stroke, M5×0.8 air ports and a hard-anodized aluminium body. This model is discontinued — the current-production replacement is the ACEJ12X110-40S (ISO 21287 ACE), in the same bore, stroke and force class.
This is a double acting compact cylinder with an adjustable extend stroke: bore 12 mm, ordered stroke 110 mm, and a 40 mm adjustment window set by the -40 code. A stop screw trims the extend stroke on site anywhere in the 70-110 mm range, so one cylinder can be dialled to several jig positions without changing parts. Air works on both faces of the piston, and a fixed TPU bumper at each end absorbs end-of-travel impact. Note that the 110 mm stroke exceeds the 50 mm maximum standard stroke for a 12 mm bore, so this unit is a made-to-order build.
At 0.5 MPa the piston pushes 56.5 N and pulls 42.4 N; at 0.7 MPa those figures rise to 79.2 N and 59.4 N, with a theoretical maximum of 11.5 kgf at 1.0 MPa. As a planning rule, about 34 N (roughly 3 kg of thrust) is a realistic working figure at 0.5 MPa, so treat it as a light-duty actuator for small clamps and sensors-check fixtures. The hard-anodized aluminium body keeps the mounting length about 50% shorter than an ISO 15552 profile cylinder, and the -S code on this model means the magnet is fitted, so CMSE or DMSE reed and solid-state switches can be mounted directly. The ACPJ family is discontinued; the current-production replacement is the ACEJ12X110, and buyers should confirm ISO 21287 mounting dimensions before swapping, since the ACP was built to a DIN-standard footprint.

Size up or down by force: a 16 mm bore of the same family gives 100.5 N push at 0.5 MPa, while stepping to 20 mm reaches 157.1 N, so pick the 12 mm bore only when your load stays under roughly 34 N of usable thrust. The stop screw shortens the extend stroke only - it never lengthens past 110 mm - and it is a mechanical end stop, not a mid-stroke lock, so the rod can still drift if air is lost. FA/FB flange and LB foot mounts bolt to the standard face, and this -S model carries the optional magnet for CMSE / DMSE switch mounting. For new projects, order the ACEJ12X110 instead, which matches this bore, stroke and force class in current production.
