This model is discontinued
AirTAC has phased out the MAL series. The drop-in replacement is ACEJ12X110-50B — same bore, stroke, output force, port and mounting, so it fits the same application. Simply order the ACEJ12X110-50B in place of this model. The ACE replacement is a current-production ISO 21287 compact cylinder in the same bore, stroke and force class, with a matching short body and the same mounting-accessory family, so it fits the same envelope. Confirm mounting-interface dimensions against the ACE datasheet before ordering.

The AirTAC Airtac ACPJ Adjustable Compact Cylinder ACPJ12X110-50B is a double acting, adjustable stroke DIN-standard tight/compact air cylinder with a Ø12mm bore and 110mm stroke, M5×0.8 air ports and a hard-anodized aluminium body. This model is discontinued — the current-production replacement is the ACEJ12X110-50B (ISO 21287 ACE), in the same bore, stroke and force class.
This double acting compact cylinder from AirTAC's ACPJ line pairs a 12 mm bore with a 110 mm stroke and a 50 mm adjustment window, so a stop screw trims the extend stroke anywhere in a 60-110 mm range on site. At 0.5 MPa it delivers 56.5 N of push and 42.4 N of pull, rising to 79.2 N at 0.7 MPa. The 110 mm stroke is longer than the 50 mm standard limit for this bore, so it is a made-to-order build. Note: this model is discontinued - the current drop-in is ACEJ12X110, and you should confirm the ISO 21287 mounting dimensions before swapping.
The short ISO 21287-class body saves roughly 50% of the mounting length of an ISO 15552 profile cylinder, which is why it slots into slim fixtures and guarded assemblies. A hard-anodized aluminium body carries an S45C hard-chrome rod with a fixed TPU bumper at each end, and the B code gives a male rod thread. In practice, plan on about 34 N (roughly 3 kg of vertical lift with a 2:1 margin) of real work at 0.5 MPa rather than the full 56.5 N rating. Running spec: 0.15-1.0 MPa (22-145 psi), 30-500 mm/s, -20 to +70 C, air filtered to 40 um.

Specifications follow the official AirTAC ACP datasheet (now discontinued). The ACEJ12X110-50B (ISO 21287) carries the same bore/stroke/force class; confirm mounting-interface dimensions against the ACE datasheet before installation. Rod type: female thread (blank) or male thread (B). Thread options: PT (blank) / G.

|---|---|---|
| 0.5 MPa | 57 N | 42 N |
| 0.7 MPa | 79 N | 59 N |
| Max (@1.0 MPa) | 12 kgf | |
The ACEJ12X110-50B produces the same force from the same bore. Actual usable force is lower than theoretical; size with a margin.

|---|---|
| 12 | Bore size in mm. |
| ×110 | Stroke length in mm. |
| -50 | Adjustable stroke window (mm the extend stroke can be shortened on site). |

| B | Rod type: B = male thread; blank = female thread. |
Replacement mapping (swap P for E): ACP→ACE, ASP→ASE, ATP→ATE, ACPD→ACED, ACPJ→ACEJ. ACP-family: ACP (double acting), ASP / ATP (single acting push / pull), ACPD (double rod), ACPJ (adjustable stroke).
The 56.5 N push at 0.5 MPa is enough to slide microscope slides or small sample trays off a deck, and the 60-110 mm adjustable range lets technicians tune the ejection distance without changing cylinders.
On small packaging lines, the trimmed extend stroke kicks lightweight cartons off a conveyor lane at up to 500 mm/s, and the compact body fits beside narrow guide rails where a full-length cylinder would not.
Machinists use the 50 mm stop screw as a repeatable end position on drilling jigs for small brackets, setting the exact extend depth per part number during setup.
At 12 mm bore this is the lightest ACPJ size: 56.5 N push at 0.5 MPa versus 100.5 N for the 16 mm bore and 157.1 N for the 20 mm, so step up a size if your mechanism needs more than about 3 kg of vertical lift capacity. The 50 mm window suits jobs where the final extend position is tuned during commissioning; remember the stop only shortens the stroke and does not hold a load if air is lost. This unit has a male rod thread (B) and no magnet - order the -S version if you later need CMSE / DMSE switch positions. For new projects, specify ACEJ12X110 instead, since ACPJ is discontinued.
Replacement checklist
At 0.5 MPa it pushes 56.5 N and pulls 42.4 N; at 0.7 MPa that rises to 79.2 N push and 59.4 N pull, with a theoretical maximum of 11.5 kgf at 1.0 MPa. The -50 code gives a 50 mm adjustment window, so the 110 mm extend stroke can be trimmed anywhere between 60 and 110 mm with the external stop screw. The stop is a mechanical end position only - it never locks the piston if air pressure is lost.
The short ISO 21287-class body saves about 50% of the mounting length of an ISO 15552 profile cylinder, with FA/FB flange and LB foot mounting options. Position sensing requires the optional -S magnet code; this model (no S) has no magnet, so no CMSE / DMSE switch can be mounted on it. Since ACPJ is discontinued, order ACEJ12X110 as the current replacement and verify the ISO 21287 mounting dimensions first.
