This model is discontinued
AirTAC has phased out the MAL series. The drop-in replacement is ACEJ12X110-50SB — same bore, stroke, output force, port and mounting, so it fits the same application. Simply order the ACEJ12X110-50SB in place of this model. The ACE replacement is a current-production ISO 21287 compact cylinder in the same bore, stroke and force class, with a matching short body and the same mounting-accessory family, so it fits the same envelope. Confirm mounting-interface dimensions against the ACE datasheet before ordering.

The AirTAC Airtac ACPJ Adjustable Compact Cylinder ACPJ12X110-50SB is a double acting, adjustable stroke DIN-standard tight/compact air cylinder with a Ø12mm bore and 110mm stroke, M5×0.8 air ports and a hard-anodized aluminium body. This model is discontinued — the current-production replacement is the ACEJ12X110-50SB (ISO 21287 ACE), in the same bore, stroke and force class.
This discontinued ACPJ12X110-50SB is a double acting compact cylinder with a 50 mm adjustment window: a stop screw trims the 110 mm extend stroke down to 60 mm on site, so one unit covers a 60-110 mm working range. The 12 mm bore delivers 56.5 N push and 42.4 N pull at 0.5 MPa (79.2 / 59.4 N at 0.7 MPa), and the -S code means the magnet is fitted, so CMSE / DMSE switches can be mounted for end-of-stroke signalling. Note the 110 mm stroke is non-standard for this bore (max standard is 50 mm), so it is made to order.
The short ISO 21287-class body saves about 50% of the mounting length of an ISO 15552 profile cylinder, which is why it suits slim fixtures and tight guards. In practice, plan on roughly 34 N of usable push at 0.5 MPa (about 0.6 of the rating), which lifts about 1.7 kg vertically with a 2:1 margin. The ACPJ family is no longer in production; the current drop-in is ACEJ12X110 in the same bore, stroke and force class - confirm ISO 21287 mounting dimensions before swapping, since the ACP is DIN-standard.

Specifications follow the official AirTAC ACP datasheet (now discontinued). The ACEJ12X110-50SB (ISO 21287) carries the same bore/stroke/force class; confirm mounting-interface dimensions against the ACE datasheet before installation. Rod type: female thread (blank) or male thread (B). Thread options: PT (blank) / G.
| Pressure | Push force | Pull force |
|---|---|---|
| 0.5 MPa | 57 N | 42 N |
| 0.7 MPa | 79 N | 59 N |
| Max (@1.0 MPa) | 12 kgf | |
The ACEJ12X110-50SB produces the same force from the same bore. Actual usable force is lower than theoretical; size with a margin.
| ACPJ | DIN compact cylinder (adjustable-stroke, discontinued). |
|---|---|
| 12 | Bore size in mm. |
| ×110 | Stroke length in mm. |
| -50 | Adjustable stroke window (mm the extend stroke can be shortened on site). |
| S | Optional built-in magnet for sensor position sensing (omit for no magnet). |
| B | Rod type: B = male thread; blank = female thread. |
Replacement mapping (swap P for E): ACP→ACE, ASP→ASE, ATP→ATE, ACPD→ACED, ACPJ→ACEJ. ACP-family: ACP (double acting), ASP / ATP (single acting push / pull), ACPD (double rod), ACPJ (adjustable stroke).
The fitted magnet lets a CMSE switch confirm each 60-110 mm eject stroke on a compact fixture, while the 56.5 N push at 0.5 MPa clears light plastic parts.
A stop screw set anywhere in the 50 mm window gives a repeatable 60-110 mm clamp stroke inside a body about 50% shorter than an ISO 15552 profile cylinder.
About 1.7 kg of vertical lift capacity at a 2:1 margin suits lifting small vials or probes, with the male rod thread taking an I or Y knuckle directly.
Size both ways: if 56.5 N push at 0.5 MPa is marginal, step up to the 16 mm bore (100.5 N); if the load is under about 34 N, the same 12 mm bore in a shorter standard stroke may cost less. The 50 mm window only shortens the extend stroke - it is a mechanical end stop, not a mid-stroke lock, so the rod still drifts on air loss. Male rod thread (B code), PT ports, FA/LB mounting, and the fitted -S magnet for CMSE / DMSE switches. Replacement: ACEJ12X110.
Replacement checklist
At 0.5 MPa: 56.5 N push and 42.4 N pull. At 0.7 MPa: 79.2 N push and 59.4 N pull. Theoretical maximum is 11.5 kgf at 1.0 MPa. The -50 code gives a 50 mm adjustment window, so the 110 mm extend stroke can be trimmed to anywhere in a 60-110 mm range with the stop screw. Operating pressure is 0.15-1.0 MPa (22-145 psi), speed 30-500 mm/s, port M5x0.8, rod 6 mm with male thread. This stroke is non-standard (max standard for bore 12 is 50 mm), so it is made to order.
No - the ACPJ family is discontinued. The current-production drop-in is ACEJ12X110 (swap the P for an E), an ISO 21287 compact cylinder in the same bore, stroke and force class with the same FA/LB mounting family and optional -S magnet for CMSE / DMSE switches. Because the ACP is DIN-standard, confirm the ISO 21287 mounting dimensions before swapping.
