This model is discontinued
AirTAC has phased out the MAL series. The drop-in replacement is ACEJ12X110-75S — same bore, stroke, output force, port and mounting, so it fits the same application. Simply order the ACEJ12X110-75S in place of this model. The ACE replacement is a current-production ISO 21287 compact cylinder in the same bore, stroke and force class, with a matching short body and the same mounting-accessory family, so it fits the same envelope. Confirm mounting-interface dimensions against the ACE datasheet before ordering.

The AirTAC Airtac ACPJ Adjustable Compact Cylinder ACPJ12X110-75S is a double acting, adjustable stroke DIN-standard tight/compact air cylinder with a Ø12mm bore and 110mm stroke, M5×0.8 air ports and a hard-anodized aluminium body. This model is discontinued — the current-production replacement is the ACEJ12X110-75S (ISO 21287 ACE), in the same bore, stroke and force class.
Double acting and adjustable in stroke, the ACPJ12X110-75S is a discontinued DIN-standard compact cylinder with a 12 mm bore and a 110 mm stroke that a stop screw can trim by up to 75 mm, giving a usable extend range of 35-110 mm. At 0.5 MPa it pushes 56.5 N and pulls 42.4 N; at 0.7 MPa that rises to 79.2 N push and 59.4 N pull, with a theoretical ceiling of 11.5 kgf at 1.0 MPa. The 110 mm stroke exceeds the 50 mm maximum standard stroke for bore 12, so it is a made-to-order build.
The hard-anodized aluminium body with an S45C hard-chrome rod saves roughly 50% of the mounting length of an ISO 15552 profile cylinder, which is why it suits tight jigs and guard-mounted tooling. Since about 60% of the push force is a realistic working figure, plan on roughly 34 N of real work at 0.5 MPa - enough to lift about 3 kg vertically, or nearer 2 kg with a 2:1 margin. The fitted -S magnet accepts CMSE / DMSE switches, and the current-production drop-in is the ACEJ12X110; confirm ISO 21287 mounting dimensions before swapping, as the ACP is DIN-standard.

Specifications follow the official AirTAC ACP datasheet (now discontinued). The ACEJ12X110-75S (ISO 21287) carries the same bore/stroke/force class; confirm mounting-interface dimensions against the ACE datasheet before installation. Rod type: female thread (blank) or male thread (B). Thread options: PT (blank) / G.
| Pressure | Push force | Pull force |
|---|---|---|
| 0.5 MPa | 57 N | 42 N |
| 0.7 MPa | 79 N | 59 N |
| Max (@1.0 MPa) | 12 kgf | |
The ACEJ12X110-75S produces the same force from the same bore. Actual usable force is lower than theoretical; size with a margin.
| ACPJ | DIN compact cylinder (adjustable-stroke, discontinued). |
|---|---|
| 12 | Bore size in mm. |
| ×110 | Stroke length in mm. |
| -75 | Adjustable stroke window (mm the extend stroke can be shortened on site). |
| S | Optional built-in magnet for sensor position sensing (omit for no magnet). |
| B | Rod type: B = male thread; blank = female thread. |
Replacement mapping (swap P for E): ACP→ACE, ASP→ASE, ATP→ATE, ACPD→ACED, ACPJ→ACEJ. ACP-family: ACP (double acting), ASP / ATP (single acting push / pull), ACPD (double rod), ACPJ (adjustable stroke).
The 35-110 mm adjustable extend range lets the stop screw be tuned to a 40 mm bottle push, and the fitted magnet with a CMSE switch confirms gate position back to the PLC.
With 56.5 N of push at 0.5 MPa and a short body about 50% shorter than an ISO 15552 profile cylinder, it clears finished caps or clips from narrow mould cavities.
The M5x0.8 ports, 30-500 mm/s speed band and 12 mm bore give gentle, repeatable tray indexing for vials weighing up to about 2 kg with a 2:1 lift margin.
Size both ways: if 56.5 N of push at 0.5 MPa is marginal, step up to bore 16 for 100.5 N; if the load is lighter and you want the smallest envelope, bore 12 is already the smallest in the family. The 75 mm window trims the extend stroke only - it is a mechanical end stop, not a mid-stroke lock, so the rod still drifts if air is lost. FA/FB flange and LB foot mountings bolt to the ISO 21287 face, and the female M3x0.5 rod thread takes standard I/Y knuckles. Because this model is discontinued, order the ACEJ12X110 as the current replacement in the same bore, stroke and force class.
Replacement checklist
At 0.5 MPa it pushes 56.5 N and pulls 42.4 N; at 0.7 MPa, 79.2 N push and 59.4 N pull; theoretical maximum is 11.5 kgf at 1.0 MPa. Applying a 60% working rule gives about 34 N of usable force, which lifts roughly 3 kg vertically - halve that for a 2:1 margin. Operating pressure is 0.15-1.0 MPa (22-145 psi), proof 1.5 MPa (215 psi), speed 30-500 mm/s, air filtered to 40 um.
The -75 code is a 75 mm adjustment window: an external stop screw shortens the 110 mm extend stroke on site to any setting from 35 mm upward, and fixed TPU bumpers decelerate at both ends. The stop is not a load-holding device. This model is discontinued; the current-production drop-in is the ACEJ12X110 (swap the P for an E) in the same bore, stroke and force class - confirm ISO 21287 mounting dimensions before converting, since the ACP is DIN-standard.
