This model is discontinued
AirTAC has phased out the MAL series. The drop-in replacement is ACEJ12X110-75SB — same bore, stroke, output force, port and mounting, so it fits the same application. Simply order the ACEJ12X110-75SB in place of this model. The ACE replacement is a current-production ISO 21287 compact cylinder in the same bore, stroke and force class, with a matching short body and the same mounting-accessory family, so it fits the same envelope. Confirm mounting-interface dimensions against the ACE datasheet before ordering.

The AirTAC Airtac ACPJ Adjustable Compact Cylinder ACPJ12X110-75SB is a double acting, adjustable stroke DIN-standard tight/compact air cylinder with a Ø12mm bore and 110mm stroke, M5×0.8 air ports and a hard-anodized aluminium body. This model is discontinued — the current-production replacement is the ACEJ12X110-75SB (ISO 21287 ACE), in the same bore, stroke and force class.
This is a double acting compact cylinder with an adjustable extend stroke, built to the DIN-standard ACP short-body format. The 12 mm bore delivers 56.5 N push and 42.4 N pull at 0.5 MPa (rising to 79.2 N at 0.7 MPa), and the -75 code gives a 75 mm adjustment window: a stop screw trims the 110 mm extend stroke down to as short as 35 mm on site. The 110 mm stroke exceeds the 50 mm standard maximum for this bore, so it is a made-to-order build. Note: the ACPJ family is discontinued - the current drop-in is the ACEJ12X110, and buyers should confirm ISO 21287 mounting dimensions before swapping.
The hard-anodized aluminium body with an S45C hard-chrome 6 mm rod keeps the mounting length about 50% shorter than an ISO 15552 profile cylinder, so it slots into slim fixtures and guarding where a full-length body will not fit. A fixed TPU bumper sits at both ends, speed runs 30-500 mm/s, and the fitted -S magnet accepts CMSE or DMSE switches for end-of-stroke sensing. As a rule of thumb, plan on roughly 34 N (about 3.4 kgf) of usable work at 0.5 MPa, which lifts about 2.9 kg vertically with a 2:1 margin.

Specifications follow the official AirTAC ACP datasheet (now discontinued). The ACEJ12X110-75SB (ISO 21287) carries the same bore/stroke/force class; confirm mounting-interface dimensions against the ACE datasheet before installation. Rod type: female thread (blank) or male thread (B). Thread options: PT (blank) / G.
| Pressure | Push force | Pull force |
|---|---|---|
| 0.5 MPa | 57 N | 42 N |
| 0.7 MPa | 79 N | 59 N |
| Max (@1.0 MPa) | 12 kgf | |
The ACEJ12X110-75SB produces the same force from the same bore. Actual usable force is lower than theoretical; size with a margin.
| ACPJ | DIN compact cylinder (adjustable-stroke, discontinued). |
|---|---|
| 12 | Bore size in mm. |
| ×110 | Stroke length in mm. |
| -75 | Adjustable stroke window (mm the extend stroke can be shortened on site). |
| S | Optional built-in magnet for sensor position sensing (omit for no magnet). |
| B | Rod type: B = male thread; blank = female thread. |
Replacement mapping (swap P for E): ACP→ACE, ASP→ASE, ATP→ATE, ACPD→ACED, ACPJ→ACEJ. ACP-family: ACP (double acting), ASP / ATP (single acting push / pull), ACPD (double rod), ACPJ (adjustable stroke).
The fitted magnet lets a CMSE switch confirm the trimmed extend position, so a PCB pusher can be verified at 35-110 mm before the next board indexes.
Set the extend stroke anywhere in the 75 mm window to match a drilling depth on aluminium brackets, with 56.5 N of push at 0.5 MPa enough for light 6 mm tooling.
The short body, roughly half the length of an ISO 15552 profile cylinder, fits between conveyor frames to divert small cartons at 30-500 mm/s.
Size this bore when your load needs under about 34 N of real work at 0.5 MPa; if you need more, the 16 mm bore gives 100.5 N push at the same pressure. The 75 mm window means the extend stroke can be set anywhere from 35 to 110 mm with a screwdriver, but the stop is a mechanical end stop only - on air loss the piston still drifts, so do not rely on it to hold a load. The male rod thread (B code) suits I/Y knuckles, and FA flange or LB foot mounts bolt to the same face. Because this model is discontinued, order the ACEJ12X110 as the current-production equivalent and verify the ISO 21287 mounting dimensions first.
Replacement checklist
At 0.5 MPa it pushes 56.5 N and pulls 42.4 N; at 0.7 MPa it pushes 79.2 N and pulls 59.4 N, with a theoretical maximum of 11.5 kgf at 1.0 MPa. The bore is 12 mm with a 6 mm male-thread rod, M5x0.8 ports, operating pressure 0.15-1.0 MPa (22-145 psi), proof pressure 1.5 MPa (215 psi), speed 30-500 mm/s, and a 75 mm stroke adjustment window on a 110 mm made-to-order stroke.
This unit carries the optional -S magnet, so CMSE or DMSE reed and solid-state switches mount directly on the body for end-of-stroke detection. The ACPJ family is discontinued; the current-production replacement is the ACEJ12X110 in the same bore, stroke and force class - confirm the ISO 21287 mounting dimensions before converting your fixture.
