The AirTAC Airtac ACPJ Adjustable Compact Cylinder ACPJ12X120-100SB is a double acting, adjustable stroke DIN-standard tight/compact air cylinder with a Ø12mm bore and 120mm stroke, M5×0.8 air ports and a hard-anodized aluminium body. This model is discontinued — the current-production replacement is the ACEJ12X120-100SB (ISO 21287 ACE), in the same bore, stroke and force class.
Double acting and adjustable, the ACPJ12X120-100SB is a discontinued DIN-standard compact cylinder with a 12 mm bore and a 120 mm stroke trimmed by a 100 mm adjustment window. A stop screw shortens the extend stroke on site, giving a usable range of 20-120 mm; it cannot lengthen the stroke past the ordered 120 mm. At 0.5 MPa it pushes 56.5 N and pulls 42.4 N, rising to 79.2 N push at 0.7 MPa, with a theoretical maximum of 11.5 kgf at 1.0 MPa. The 120 mm stroke exceeds the 50 mm standard maximum for this bore, so it is a made-to-order build.
The short ISO 21287-class body saves roughly 50% of the mounting length of an ISO 15552 profile cylinder, so it slots into tight fixtures where a full-length body will not fit. This -S version carries the optional magnet, so CMSE or DMSE reed and solid-state switches can be mounted for end-of-stroke sensing, and the B code gives a male rod thread. A fixed TPU bumper at each end absorbs end-of-travel impact but never locks or holds a load - on air loss the piston drifts. Note the family is discontinued: the current-production drop-in is ACEJ12X120, and buyers should confirm ISO 21287 mounting dimensions before swapping. As a rule of thumb, plan on about 34 N of real work at 0.5 MPa, which lifts roughly 1.7 kg vertically with a 2:1 margin.

Replacement mapping (swap P for E): ACP→ACE, ASP→ASE, ATP→ATE, ACPD→ACED, ACPJ→ACEJ. ACP-family: ACP (double acting), ASP / ATP (single acting push / pull), ACPD (double rod), ACPJ (adjustable stroke).
The 56.5 N push at 0.5 MPa is enough to kick light molded caps or bushings off a mold face, and the 20-120 mm adjustable range lets the setter dial the eject distance without changing cylinders.
With the fitted -S magnet driving CMSE or DMSE switches, a bench-top electronics test jig can confirm the 6 mm rod has reached the trimmed extend position before the probe cycle starts.
About 34 N of usable work at 0.5 MPa suits holding small PCB brackets or connector housings during a screwdriving step, where the short body fits inside a tight gantry frame.
Size both ways: if 56.5 N push at 0.5 MPa is more than the job needs, the smaller ACPJ10 class is lighter still; if the load approaches the 34 N working band, step up to the 16 mm bore, which delivers 100.5 N push at 0.5 MPa. The stop screw is a mechanical end stop for the extend stroke only - it is not a mid-stroke lock, so do not rely on it to hold a vertical load when air is lost. FA/FB flange and LB foot mountings bolt to the standard face, and the fitted -S magnet accepts CMSE / DMSE switches. Order ACEJ12X120 as the current replacement and verify ISO 21287 mounting dimensions before the swap.
