About the Airtac ACPJ Adjustable Compact Cylinder ACPJ12X120-50SB
This is a double acting adjustable-stroke compact cylinder with a 12 mm bore and a 120 mm stroke, built on the short DIN-standard ACP body: hard-anodized aluminium with aluminium covers threaded on, an S45C hard-chrome rod and fixed TPU bumpers at both ends. The -50 code gives a 50 mm adjustment window, so a stop screw trims the extend stroke anywhere in a 70-120 mm range without changing hardware. At 0.5 MPa it pushes 56.5 N and pulls 42.4 N, rising to 79.2 N at 0.7 MPa, with a theoretical ceiling of 11.5 kgf at 1.0 MPa. The short body saves roughly 50% of the mounting length of an ISO 15552 profile cylinder, so it slots into tight jigs and gantries.
Note the 120 mm stroke exceeds the 50 mm maximum standard stroke for a 12 mm bore, so this unit is made to order. The S code means the optional -S magnet is fitted, so CMSE or DMSE reed and solid-state switches can be mounted directly on the body. The B code gives a male 6 mm rod with M3x0.5 male thread, and the port is M5x0.8. As a rule of thumb, plan on about 34 N of usable push (roughly 0.6 of the rating) at 0.5 MPa, which lifts about 2.9 kg vertically with a 2:1 margin. This model is discontinued; the current-production drop-in is the ACEJ12X120, so confirm ISO 21287 mounting dimensions before swapping.
