This model is discontinued
AirTAC has phased out the MAL series. The drop-in replacement is ACEJ12X125-100B — same bore, stroke, output force, port and mounting, so it fits the same application. Simply order the ACEJ12X125-100B in place of this model. The ACE replacement is a current-production ISO 21287 compact cylinder in the same bore, stroke and force class, with a matching short body and the same mounting-accessory family, so it fits the same envelope. Confirm mounting-interface dimensions against the ACE datasheet before ordering.

The AirTAC Airtac ACPJ Adjustable Compact Cylinder ACPJ12X125-100B is a double acting, adjustable stroke DIN-standard tight/compact air cylinder with a Ø12mm bore and 125mm stroke, M5×0.8 air ports and a hard-anodized aluminium body. This model is discontinued — the current-production replacement is the ACEJ12X125-100B (ISO 21287 ACE), in the same bore, stroke and force class.
The ACPJ12X125-100B is a discontinued double acting compact cylinder with an adjustable extend stroke: a stop screw trims the 125 mm stroke down by up to 100 mm, giving a usable range of 25-125 mm. Air drives the rod in both directions, and a fixed TPU bumper sits at each end. At 0.5 MPa this 12 mm bore delivers 56.5 N push and 42.4 N pull, rising to 79.2 N push at 0.7 MPa, with a theoretical maximum of 11.5 kgf at 1.0 MPa.
The short ISO 21287-class body saves roughly 50% of the mounting length of an ISO 15552 profile cylinder, so it slots into narrow jigs and sliding guards. Because 125 mm exceeds the 50 mm maximum standard stroke for bore 12, this unit is made to order. A practical sizing rule: plan on about 34 N of real work at 0.5 MPa (roughly 60% of the push rating), which lifts about 2.9 kg vertically with a 2:1 margin. The B code gives a male rod thread; note this build has no magnet, so no CMSE or DMSE switch can be fitted. Production has ended - the current drop-in is the ACEJ12X125, and buyers should confirm ISO 21287 mounting dimensions before swapping.

Specifications follow the official AirTAC ACP datasheet (now discontinued). The ACEJ12X125-100B (ISO 21287) carries the same bore/stroke/force class; confirm mounting-interface dimensions against the ACE datasheet before installation. Rod type: female thread (blank) or male thread (B). Thread options: PT (blank) / G.

|---|---|---|
| 0.5 MPa | 57 N | 42 N |
| 0.7 MPa | 79 N | 59 N |
| Max (@1.0 MPa) | 12 kgf | |
The ACEJ12X125-100B produces the same force from the same bore. Actual usable force is lower than theoretical; size with a margin.

|---|---|
| 12 | Bore size in mm. |
| ×125 | Stroke length in mm. |
| -100 | Adjustable stroke window (mm the extend stroke can be shortened on site). |
| S | Optional built-in magnet for sensor position sensing (omit for no magnet). |
| B | Rod type: B = male thread; blank = female thread. |
Replacement mapping (swap P for E): ACP→ACE, ASP→ASE, ATP→ATE, ACPD→ACED, ACPJ→ACEJ. ACP-family: ACP (double acting), ASP / ATP (single acting push / pull), ACPD (double rod), ACPJ (adjustable stroke).
On a packaging machine's print-and-apply head, the 100 mm window lets one cylinder serve label carriers of different thickness by trimming the extend stroke between 25 and 125 mm instead of swapping parts.
The short body fits behind a machine guard bracket where a full-length ISO 15552 profile cylinder cannot, pushing a 2 kg interlock door home at 30-500 mm/s.
Ejects finished bushings from a CNC jig fixture; the 56.5 N push at 0.5 MPa clears light aluminium parts, and the male rod thread (B code) takes a custom ejector tip directly.
At 12 mm bore this is the smallest force class: 56.5 N push at 0.5 MPa. If the load needs more, step up to bore 16 (100.5 N push) or bore 20 (157.1 N push) in the same adjustable family. The stop screw only limits the extend stroke - it is a mechanical end stop, not a mid-stroke lock, so the piston still drifts if air is lost. FA/FB flange and LB foot mounts bolt to the standard face. This model is discontinued; order the ACEJ12X125 as the current-production replacement and verify the ISO 21287 mounting dimensions first.
Replacement checklist
Push is 56.5 N and pull is 42.4 N at 0.5 MPa; at 0.7 MPa push rises to 79.2 N and pull to 59.4 N, with a theoretical maximum of 11.5 kgf at 1.0 MPa. The -100 code is a 100 mm adjustment window: the stop screw shortens the 125 mm extend stroke to any length down to 25 mm. The 125 mm stroke is non-standard for bore 12 (standard maximum is 50 mm), so it is made to order. Operating pressure is 0.15-1.0 MPa (22-145 psi) and speed is 30-500 mm/s.
No - this model has no S code, so no magnet is fitted and no switch can work. The optional -S magnet is what enables CMSE or DMSE reed and solid-state switches. The ACPJ family is discontinued; the current-production drop-in is the ACEJ12X125 (swap the P for an E), which matches the same bore, stroke and force class. Confirm the ISO 21287 mounting dimensions before swapping, since the ACP follows the DIN-standard compact format.
