The AirTAC Airtac ACPJ Adjustable Compact Cylinder ACPJ12X125-20B is a double acting, adjustable stroke DIN-standard tight/compact air cylinder with a Ø12mm bore and 125mm stroke, M5×0.8 air ports and a hard-anodized aluminium body. This model is discontinued — the current-production replacement is the ACEJ12X125-20B (ISO 21287 ACE), in the same bore, stroke and force class.
The ACPJ12X125-20B is a double acting compact cylinder with an adjustable extend stroke: a stop screw trims the 125 mm stroke by up to 20 mm, giving a usable range of 105-125 mm. It is a DIN-standard short-body unit, discontinued by AirTAC, and the current-production drop-in is the ISO 21287 ACEJ12X125 in the same bore, stroke and force class. At 0.5 MPa it pushes 56.5 N and pulls 42.4 N, so in practice plan on roughly 34 N of real work, which lifts about 2.9 kg vertically with a 2:1 margin.
The 12 mm bore body is hard-anodized aluminium with an S45C hard-chrome 6 mm rod and a male rod thread (the B code), with a fixed TPU bumper at each end. The short ISO 21287-class body saves about 50% of the mounting length of an ISO 15552 profile cylinder, so it slots into tight jigs and guarding. Note that the 125 mm stroke exceeds the 50 mm maximum standard stroke for this bore, so it is a made-to-order build. No magnet is fitted (no S code), so no switch can be mounted; order the -S version if CMSE / DMSE sensing is needed.

Replacement mapping (swap P for E): ACP→ACE, ASP→ASE, ATP→ATE, ACPD→ACED, ACPJ→ACEJ. ACP-family: ACP (double acting), ASP / ATP (single acting push / pull), ACPD (double rod), ACPJ (adjustable stroke).
The 56.5 N push at 0.5 MPa is enough to strip light aluminium or plastic parts off a locating pin on an assembly bench, with the 20 mm window letting you trim the 125 mm stroke to the exact release point.
About 34 N of usable force at 0.5 MPa holds a PCB carrier or sensor housing during a screwdriving step without deforming it; the short body fits inside the guard envelope.
With a 2:1 margin the bore lifts roughly 2.9 kg vertically, so it can lower probe heads or small gauges onto a workpiece within the 105-125 mm adjusted range at 30-500 mm/s.
At 12 mm bore this is the smallest force class in the range: 56.5 N push at 0.5 MPa. If your part or fixture needs more, step up to the 16 mm bore (100.5 N push at 0.5 MPa) or the 20 mm bore (157.1 N). The stop screw only shortens the extend stroke and is not a mid-stroke lock - on air loss the piston still drifts, so do not rely on it to hold a load. Mounting options are FA/FB flange and LB foot, and the male rod thread (B) suits I/Y knuckles. Because this model is discontinued, spec the ACEJ12X125 instead and confirm the ISO 21287 mounting dimensions before swapping, since the ACP was built to a DIN standard.

Order the ACEJ12X125, the current-production ISO 21287 successor: swap the P for an E and you get the same bore, stroke and force class in a matching short body. Before swapping, confirm the ISO 21287 mounting dimensions against your fixture, because the ACPJ was built to a DIN standard. If you need position sensing, remember the magnet is only supplied with the -S ordering code, which enables CMSE / DMSE switches.
