This model is discontinued
AirTAC has phased out the MAL series. The drop-in replacement is ACEJ12X125-30B — same bore, stroke, output force, port and mounting, so it fits the same application. Simply order the ACEJ12X125-30B in place of this model. The ACE replacement is a current-production ISO 21287 compact cylinder in the same bore, stroke and force class, with a matching short body and the same mounting-accessory family, so it fits the same envelope. Confirm mounting-interface dimensions against the ACE datasheet before ordering.

The AirTAC Airtac ACPJ Adjustable Compact Cylinder ACPJ12X125-30B is a double acting, adjustable stroke DIN-standard tight/compact air cylinder with a Ø12mm bore and 125mm stroke, M5×0.8 air ports and a hard-anodized aluminium body. This model is discontinued — the current-production replacement is the ACEJ12X125-30B (ISO 21287 ACE), in the same bore, stroke and force class.
This double acting compact cylinder pushes with 56.5 N and pulls with 42.4 N at 0.5 MPa (79.2 / 59.4 N at 0.7 MPa), with a theoretical peak of 11.5 kgf at 1.0 MPa. The -30 code gives a 30 mm adjustment window: a stop screw trims the 125 mm extend stroke down to 95 mm on site, so one cylinder covers a 95-125 mm range. The 125 mm stroke is longer than the 50 mm standard maximum for a 12 mm bore, so it is a made-to-order build. Note this model is discontinued; the current-production replacement is ACEJ12X125.
The hard-anodized aluminium body with an S45C hard-chrome rod keeps the short ISO 21287-class footprint, saving roughly 50% of the mounting length of an ISO 15552 profile cylinder in tight jigs and gantries. Practical sizing: plan on about 34 N of usable push at 0.5 MPa, which lifts roughly 2.8 kg vertically with a 2:1 margin. A fixed TPU bumper sits at both ends, speed runs 30-500 mm/s, and the rod end carries a male thread (B code). No magnet is fitted, so position switches cannot be used unless the optional -S magnet version is ordered.

Specifications follow the official AirTAC ACP datasheet (now discontinued). The ACEJ12X125-30B (ISO 21287) carries the same bore/stroke/force class; confirm mounting-interface dimensions against the ACE datasheet before installation. Rod type: female thread (blank) or male thread (B). Thread options: PT (blank) / G.

|---|---|---|
| 0.5 MPa | 57 N | 42 N |
| 0.7 MPa | 79 N | 59 N |
| Max (@1.0 MPa) | 12 kgf | |
The ACEJ12X125-30B produces the same force from the same bore. Actual usable force is lower than theoretical; size with a margin.

|---|---|
| 12 | Bore size in mm. |
| ×125 | Stroke length in mm. |
| -30 | Adjustable stroke window (mm the extend stroke can be shortened on site). |

| B | Rod type: B = male thread; blank = female thread. |
Replacement mapping (swap P for E): ACP→ACE, ASP→ASE, ATP→ATE, ACPD→ACED, ACPJ→ACEJ. ACP-family: ACP (double acting), ASP / ATP (single acting push / pull), ACPD (double rod), ACPJ (adjustable stroke).
The 56.5 N push at 0.5 MPa clears lightweight molded caps and inserts from shallow cavities, while the 30 mm window lets technicians trim the 125 mm stroke to 95 mm for shallower molds.
With about 2.8 kg of vertical lift capacity at a 2:1 margin, the 12 mm bore positions racks of 5-10 mL vials between stations, and the male rod thread (B code) accepts custom probe carriers.
About 34 N of usable push at 0.5 MPa seats pin headers and small connectors into PCB housings, with the 95-125 mm adjustable range matching varied fixture heights.
At 12 mm bore this is the smallest force class: 56.5 N push at 0.5 MPa. Step up to the 16 mm bore for 100.5 N push or the 20 mm bore for 157.1 N at the same pressure if the load is heavier. The stop screw only shortens the extend stroke and drifts on air loss, so it is not a mid-stroke lock for holding a load. Mount with FA/FB flange or LB foot on the standard face, and if you need end-of-stroke sensing, order the -S magnet code to enable CMSE / DMSE switches. For new designs, specify ACEJ12X125, the current drop-in successor, and confirm ISO 21287 mounting dimensions before swapping.
Replacement checklist
Push is 56.5 N and pull is 42.4 N at 0.5 MPa; at 0.7 MPa push rises to 79.2 N and pull to 59.4 N; theoretical maximum is 11.5 kgf at 1.0 MPa. Operating pressure is 0.15-1.0 MPa (22-145 psi), proof pressure 1.5 MPa (215 psi), speed 30-500 mm/s, temperature -20 to +70 C, air filtered to 40 um, port M5x0.8, rod 6 mm with male thread. The 125 mm stroke is a made-to-order length above the 50 mm standard maximum for this bore, and the -30 stop screw trims the extend stroke within a 30 mm window (95-125 mm).
No. The ACPJ family is discontinued and no longer in production. The current-production drop-in is ACEJ12X125, which swaps the P for an E and matches the same 12 mm bore, 125 mm stroke and force class in the ISO 21287 short-body format. Because the ACPJ was built to a DIN-standard compact footprint, confirm the ISO 21287 mounting dimensions against your fixture before ordering the replacement. Also note no magnet is fitted on this version, so CMSE / DMSE switches require the optional -S magnet code.
