AirTAC has phased out the MAL series. The drop-in replacement is ACEJ12X125-50 — same bore, stroke, output force, port and mounting, so it fits the same application. The AirTAC Airtac ACPJ Adjustable Compact Cylinder ACPJ12X125-50 is a double acting, adjustable stroke DIN-standard tight/compact air cylinder with a Ø12mm bore and 125mm stroke, M5×0.8 air ports and a hard-anodized aluminium body. This model is discontinued — the current-production replacement is the ACEJ12X125-50 (ISO 21287 ACE), in the same bore, stroke and force class.
This is a double acting compact cylinder with an adjustable extend stroke: bore 12 mm, stroke 125 mm, and a 50 mm adjustment window set by the -50 code. A stop screw trims the extend stroke anywhere in the 75-125 mm range on site, so one cylinder covers several jig positions. Push force is 56.5 N and pull 42.4 N at 0.5 MPa, rising to 79.2 N at 0.7 MPa, with a theoretical maximum of 11.5 kgf at 1.0 MPa. Note the 125 mm stroke is longer than the 50 mm standard maximum for this bore, so it is a made-to-order build.
The short ISO 21287-class body saves roughly 50% of the mounting length of an ISO 15552 profile cylinder, which is why it slots into tight fixtures and guarding where a full-length body will not fit. In practice, plan for about 34 N of usable push at 0.5 MPa, which lifts roughly 2.9 kg vertically with a 2:1 margin. A fixed TPU bumper sits at both ends, the hard-anodized aluminium body carries an S45C hard-chrome rod, and the rod end is female M3x0.5. No magnet is fitted on this version; the optional -S code adds one for CMSE / DMSE switches. This model is discontinued - the current drop-in is ACEJ12X125, so confirm ISO 21287 mounting dimensions before swapping.

Size both ways: if 56.5 N of push at 0.5 MPa is more than your load needs, the same family in a smaller format will not go lower than this 12 mm bore, so check whether a shorter stroke or lower pressure suits instead; if you need more force, step up to the 16 mm bore for 100.5 N push or the 20 mm bore for 157.1 N at 0.5 MPa. The stop screw is a mechanical end stop only - on air loss the piston still drifts, so it is not a load-holding lock. FA/FB flange and LB foot mountings bolt to the standard face, and ordering the -S code enables CMSE / DMSE switch positions. For new projects, specify the current-production ACEJ12X125 instead and verify the ISO 21287 mounting dimensions.

The stop is a mechanical end stop, not a mid-stroke lock, so the rod can still drift if air is lost. The ACPJ family is discontinued; the current-production replacement is ACEJ12X125, a drop-in in the same bore, stroke and force class - confirm the ISO 21287 mounting dimensions before swapping.
