This model is discontinued
AirTAC has phased out the MAL series. The drop-in replacement is ACEJ12X125-75B — same bore, stroke, output force, port and mounting, so it fits the same application. Simply order the ACEJ12X125-75B in place of this model. The ACE replacement is a current-production ISO 21287 compact cylinder in the same bore, stroke and force class, with a matching short body and the same mounting-accessory family, so it fits the same envelope. Confirm mounting-interface dimensions against the ACE datasheet before ordering.

The AirTAC Airtac ACPJ Adjustable Compact Cylinder ACPJ12X125-75B is a double acting, adjustable stroke DIN-standard tight/compact air cylinder with a Ø12mm bore and 125mm stroke, M5×0.8 air ports and a hard-anodized aluminium body. This model is discontinued — the current-production replacement is the ACEJ12X125-75B (ISO 21287 ACE), in the same bore, stroke and force class.
The ACPJ12X125-75B is a double acting compact cylinder with an adjustable extend stroke: a stop screw trims the 125 mm stroke by up to 75 mm, giving a usable range of 50-125 mm on site. At 0.5 MPa the 12 mm bore delivers 56.5 N push and 42.4 N pull, rising to 79.2 N push at 0.7 MPa. As a rule of thumb, plan on roughly 34 N of real work at 0.5 MPa, which lifts about 2.9 kg vertically with a 2:1 margin. Note the 125 mm stroke exceeds the 50 mm standard stroke for this bore, so it is a made-to-order build.
The short ISO 21287-class body saves about 50% of the mounting length of an ISO 15552 profile cylinder, so it slots into slim jigs and guarding where a full-length body cannot. A hard-anodized aluminium body carries an S45C hard-chrome rod, with a fixed TPU bumper at both ends and a male rod thread (B code) on the 6 mm rod. This model is discontinued; the current-production drop-in is the ACEJ12X125, so confirm ISO 21287 mounting dimensions before swapping from the DIN-standard ACP footprint.

Specifications follow the official AirTAC ACP datasheet (now discontinued). The ACEJ12X125-75B (ISO 21287) carries the same bore/stroke/force class; confirm mounting-interface dimensions against the ACE datasheet before installation. Rod type: female thread (blank) or male thread (B). Thread options: PT (blank) / G.

|---|---|---|
| 0.5 MPa | 57 N | 42 N |
| 0.7 MPa | 79 N | 59 N |
| Max (@1.0 MPa) | 12 kgf | |
The ACEJ12X125-75B produces the same force from the same bore. Actual usable force is lower than theoretical; size with a margin.

|---|---|
| 12 | Bore size in mm. |
| ×125 | Stroke length in mm. |
| -75 | Adjustable stroke window (mm the extend stroke can be shortened on site). |

| B | Rod type: B = male thread; blank = female thread. |
Replacement mapping (swap P for E): ACP→ACE, ASP→ASE, ATP→ATE, ACPD→ACED, ACPJ→ACEJ. ACP-family: ACP (double acting), ASP / ATP (single acting push / pull), ACPD (double rod), ACPJ (adjustable stroke).
The 34 N usable push at 0.5 MPa nudges small machined or moulded parts off a locating pin, and the 50-125 mm adjustable range lets you tune the eject travel without re-machining the jig.
About 2.9 kg of vertical lift capacity with a 2:1 margin suits light capping or pressing of vials and test coupons in compact benchtop automation.
A body roughly 50% shorter than an ISO 15552 profile cylinder drives a light slide inside tight guarding; add the -S magnet option on the ACEJ12X125 for CMSE / DMSE end-position sensing.
At 12 mm bore this is the smallest force class in the range: 56.5 N push at 0.5 MPa. Step up to the 16 mm bore for 100.5 N push or the 20 mm bore for 157.1 N at the same pressure if the load is heavier. The stop screw only shortens the extend stroke and is not a mid-stroke lock - on air loss the piston still drifts, so do not rely on it to hold a load. FA/FB flange and LB foot mountings bolt to the standard face, and the optional -S magnet enables CMSE / DMSE switches; this model has no S code, so no magnet is fitted. Order the ACEJ12X125 as the current replacement.
Replacement checklist
At 0.5 MPa it pushes 56.5 N and pulls 42.4 N; at 0.7 MPa push is 79.2 N and pull 59.4 N, with a theoretical maximum of 11.5 kgf at 1.0 MPa. The -75 code is a 75 mm adjustment window: the stop screw shortens the 125 mm stroke to any length down to 50 mm. The 125 mm stroke is a made-to-order build because the bore 12 standard maximum is 50 mm. Operating pressure is 0.15-1.0 MPa (22-145 psi) and speed is 30-500 mm/s.
AirTAC no longer produces the ACPJ family; the current drop-in is the ACEJ12X125, which matches the same 12 mm bore, 125 mm stroke and force class on the ISO 21287 short body. Confirm the ISO 21287 mounting dimensions before swapping, since the ACP was DIN-standard. The cylinder uses a hard-anodized aluminium body, an S45C hard-chrome rod with male thread, a fixed TPU bumper at each end, and an M5x0.8 port. Position sensing needs the optional -S magnet code with CMSE / DMSE switches; without it no magnet is fitted.
