This model is discontinued
AirTAC has phased out the MAL series. The drop-in replacement is ACEJ12X125-75S — same bore, stroke, output force, port and mounting, so it fits the same application. Simply order the ACEJ12X125-75S in place of this model. The ACE replacement is a current-production ISO 21287 compact cylinder in the same bore, stroke and force class, with a matching short body and the same mounting-accessory family, so it fits the same envelope. Confirm mounting-interface dimensions against the ACE datasheet before ordering.

The AirTAC Airtac ACPJ Adjustable Compact Cylinder ACPJ12X125-75S is a double acting, adjustable stroke DIN-standard tight/compact air cylinder with a Ø12mm bore and 125mm stroke, M5×0.8 air ports and a hard-anodized aluminium body. This model is discontinued — the current-production replacement is the ACEJ12X125-75S (ISO 21287 ACE), in the same bore, stroke and force class.
A double acting compact cylinder with an adjustable extend stroke, the ACPJ12X125-75S carries a 12 mm bore and a made-to-order 125 mm stroke that a stop screw trims by up to 75 mm, giving a usable range of 50-125 mm. At 0.5 MPa it pushes 56.5 N and pulls 42.4 N; at 0.7 MPa those figures rise to 79.2 N and 59.4 N, with a theoretical ceiling of 11.5 kgf at 1.0 MPa. The hard-anodized aluminium body keeps the mounting length roughly 50% shorter than an ISO 15552 profile cylinder, so it slots into tight jigs and guarding where a full-length body will not fit.
The -S code on this model means the magnet is fitted, so CMSE or DMSE reed and solid-state switches can be clipped on for end-of-stroke signalling. A fixed TPU bumper sits at both ends to soften arrival, and the female M3x0.5 rod thread accepts standard I/Y knuckles. Note this ACPJ is discontinued: the current-production drop-in is the ACEJ12X125, so confirm ISO 21287 mounting dimensions before swapping. As a rule of thumb, plan on about 34 N of real work at 0.5 MPa, which lifts roughly 1.7 kg vertically with a 2:1 margin.

Specifications follow the official AirTAC ACP datasheet (now discontinued). The ACEJ12X125-75S (ISO 21287) carries the same bore/stroke/force class; confirm mounting-interface dimensions against the ACE datasheet before installation. Rod type: female thread (blank) or male thread (B). Thread options: PT (blank) / G.

|---|---|---|
| 0.5 MPa | 57 N | 42 N |
| 0.7 MPa | 79 N | 59 N |
| Max (@1.0 MPa) | 12 kgf | |
The ACEJ12X125-75S produces the same force from the same bore. Actual usable force is lower than theoretical; size with a margin.

| 12 | Bore size in mm. |
| ×125 | Stroke length in mm. |
| -75 | Adjustable stroke window (mm the extend stroke can be shortened on site). |

| B | Rod type: B = male thread; blank = female thread. |
Replacement mapping (swap P for E): ACP→ACE, ASP→ASE, ATP→ATE, ACPD→ACED, ACPJ→ACEJ. ACP-family: ACP (double acting), ASP / ATP (single acting push / pull), ACPD (double rod), ACPJ (adjustable stroke).
The 56.5 N push at 0.5 MPa is enough to nudge light plastic caps or springs off a nest, and the 75 mm window lets one cylinder serve several nest depths between 50 and 125 mm.
With the fitted -S magnet, CMSE or DMSE switches confirm extend and retract on a 125 mm slide, ideal for poka-yoke checks on electronics assembly lines.
Around 34 N of practical working force at 0.5 MPa suits stamping date codes or seating small bearings in aluminium housings where heavier bores would mar the part.
Size both ways before committing: the bore 16 ACPJ delivers 100.5 N push at 0.5 MPa if 56.5 N feels marginal, while dropping to a smaller bore is not available in this family since 12 mm is the smallest. The 125 mm stroke exceeds the 50 mm maximum standard stroke for bore 12, so it is a non-standard, made-to-order build. The stop screw is a mechanical end stop for the extend stroke only - on air loss the piston still drifts, so it is not a load-holding brake. FA/FB flange and LB foot mountings bolt to the ISO 21287 face. Order the ACEJ12X125 as the current replacement.
Replacement checklist
Push is 56.5 N and pull 42.4 N at 0.5 MPa; at 0.7 MPa push is 79.2 N and pull 59.4 N; theoretical maximum is 11.5 kgf at 1.0 MPa. It is a 12 mm bore, 125 mm stroke double acting unit with an M5x0.8 port, a 6 mm rod with female M3x0.5 thread, operating pressure 0.15-1.0 MPa (22-145 psi), proof pressure 1.5 MPa (215 psi), speed 30-500 mm/s and a temperature range of -20 to +70 C. The 125 mm stroke is a made-to-order build above the 50 mm standard maximum for this bore.
The -75 code sets a 75 mm adjustment window: an external stop screw shortens the 125 mm extend stroke on site, so the effective range is 50-125 mm. It cannot lengthen the stroke past the ordered value, and it is an end stop only - it does not hold a load if air is lost. The ACPJ family is discontinued; the current-production drop-in is the ACEJ12X125 in the same bore, stroke and force class. Confirm the ISO 21287 mounting dimensions before swapping, since the ACP was built to a DIN-standard footprint.
