This model is discontinued
AirTAC has phased out the MAL series. The drop-in replacement is ACEJ12X125-75SB — same bore, stroke, output force, port and mounting, so it fits the same application. Simply order the ACEJ12X125-75SB in place of this model. The ACE replacement is a current-production ISO 21287 compact cylinder in the same bore, stroke and force class, with a matching short body and the same mounting-accessory family, so it fits the same envelope. Confirm mounting-interface dimensions against the ACE datasheet before ordering.

The AirTAC Airtac ACPJ Adjustable Compact Cylinder ACPJ12X125-75SB is a double acting, adjustable stroke DIN-standard tight/compact air cylinder with a Ø12mm bore and 125mm stroke, M5×0.8 air ports and a hard-anodized aluminium body. This model is discontinued — the current-production replacement is the ACEJ12X125-75SB (ISO 21287 ACE), in the same bore, stroke and force class.
The ACPJ12X125-75SB is a double acting compact cylinder with an adjustable extend stroke: a stop screw trims the 125 mm stroke by up to 75 mm, giving a usable range of 50-125 mm on site. The 12 mm bore delivers 56.5 N push and 42.4 N pull at 0.5 MPa (79.2 / 59.4 N at 0.7 MPa, 11.5 kgf theoretical maximum), so in practice plan on roughly 34 N of usable work - enough to lift about 2.9 kg vertically with a 2:1 margin. The 125 mm stroke exceeds the 50 mm standard maximum for this bore, so it is a made-to-order build. This model is discontinued; the current-production drop-in is the ACEJ12X125.
The short ISO 21287-class body saves about 50% of the mounting length of an ISO 15552 profile cylinder, which is why it suits tight jigs, guards and gantries. A hard-anodized aluminium body carries an S45C hard-chrome rod with a fixed TPU bumper at each end, running at 30-500 mm/s on 0.15-1.0 MPa (22-145 psi) filtered air. The -S magnet is fitted on this unit, so CMSE / DMSE reed or solid-state switches can be mounted, and the B code gives a male rod thread with PT ports.

Specifications follow the official AirTAC ACP datasheet (now discontinued). The ACEJ12X125-75SB (ISO 21287) carries the same bore/stroke/force class; confirm mounting-interface dimensions against the ACE datasheet before installation. Rod type: female thread (blank) or male thread (B). Thread options: PT (blank) / G.

|---|---|---|
| 0.5 MPa | 57 N | 42 N |
| 0.7 MPa | 79 N | 59 N |
| Max (@1.0 MPa) | 12 kgf | |
The ACEJ12X125-75SB produces the same force from the same bore. Actual usable force is lower than theoretical; size with a margin.

| 12 | Bore size in mm. |
| ×125 | Stroke length in mm. |
| -75 | Adjustable stroke window (mm the extend stroke can be shortened on site). |

| B | Rod type: B = male thread; blank = female thread. |
Replacement mapping (swap P for E): ACP→ACE, ASP→ASE, ATP→ATE, ACPD→ACED, ACPJ→ACEJ. ACP-family: ACP (double acting), ASP / ATP (single acting push / pull), ACPD (double rod), ACPJ (adjustable stroke).
The 34 N usable push at 0.5 MPa is enough to eject machined bushings or plastic caps from a drilling jig, and the 50-125 mm trim range adapts one cylinder to different fixture depths.
With the -S magnet fitted, CMSE or DMSE switches confirm extend and retract on a 125 mm verification stroke for electronics assembly fixtures running 0.15-1.0 MPa (22-145 psi) air.
The short body, about 50% shorter in mounting length than an ISO 15552 profile cylinder, clamps small brackets inside machine guards where a full-length cylinder cannot fit.
At 12 mm bore this is the smallest force class: 56.5 N push at 0.5 MPa. Step up to the 16 mm bore (100.5 N push) if the load is near the 2:1 limit, or drop the stroke if 125 mm is more than the mechanism needs. The 75 mm adjust window lets one cylinder serve several fixture depths without re-plumbing. FA/FB flange and LB foot mountings bolt to the standard face. Note the stop screw is an end stop, not a mid-stroke lock - the rod still drifts if air is lost. Before ordering, confirm ISO 21287 mounting dimensions for the ACEJ12X125 replacement, since the ACP series is DIN-standard.
Replacement checklist
At 0.5 MPa it pushes 56.5 N and pulls 42.4 N; at 0.7 MPa those rise to 79.2 N and 59.4 N, with a theoretical maximum of 11.5 kgf at 1.0 MPa. The -75 code is a 75 mm adjustment window: the stop screw shortens the 125 mm extend stroke to any length down to 50 mm. The 125 mm stroke is a made-to-order size, since the bore 12 standard maximum is 50 mm.
No - the ACPJ family is discontinued. Order the ACEJ12X125, the current ISO 21287 drop-in in the same bore, stroke and force class, and confirm the mounting dimensions first because the ACP is DIN-standard. The short body saves roughly 50% of the mounting length of an ISO 15552 profile cylinder, the fixed TPU bumper decelerates at both ends, and this unit carries the optional -S magnet so CMSE / DMSE switches can be fitted.
