This model is discontinued
AirTAC has phased out the MAL series. The drop-in replacement is ACEJ12X125-75 — same bore, stroke, output force, port and mounting, so it fits the same application. Simply order the ACEJ12X125-75 in place of this model. The ACE replacement is a current-production ISO 21287 compact cylinder in the same bore, stroke and force class, with a matching short body and the same mounting-accessory family, so it fits the same envelope. Confirm mounting-interface dimensions against the ACE datasheet before ordering.

The AirTAC Airtac ACPJ Adjustable Compact Cylinder ACPJ12X125-75 is a double acting, adjustable stroke DIN-standard tight/compact air cylinder with a Ø12mm bore and 125mm stroke, M5×0.8 air ports and a hard-anodized aluminium body. This model is discontinued — the current-production replacement is the ACEJ12X125-75 (ISO 21287 ACE), in the same bore, stroke and force class.
The ACPJ12X125-75 is a double acting, adjustable-stroke compact cylinder in the discontinued AirTAC ACPJ DIN-standard series. Its 12 mm bore delivers 56.5 N of push and 42.4 N of pull at 0.5 MPa, rising to 79.2 N at 0.7 MPa, with a theoretical peak of 11.5 kgf at 1.0 MPa. The -75 code gives a 75 mm adjustment window: an external stop screw trims the extend stroke anywhere in a 50-125 mm range, so one cylinder covers several fixture positions. The 125 mm stroke exceeds the 50 mm standard maximum for bore 12, so it is a made-to-order build.
The short ISO 21287-class body saves about 50% of the mounting length of an ISO 15552 profile cylinder, which is why it suits slim jigs, guarding gates and compact gantries. A hard-anodized aluminium body carries an S45C hard-chrome rod, with a fixed TPU bumper at each end and speeds of 30-500 mm/s. In practice, plan for roughly 34 N of usable push at 0.5 MPa, which lifts about 2.9 kg vertically with a 2:1 margin. Note this model is discontinued: the current-production drop-in is the ACEJ12X125, and buyers should confirm ISO 21287 mounting dimensions before swapping.

Specifications follow the official AirTAC ACP datasheet (now discontinued). The ACEJ12X125-75 (ISO 21287) carries the same bore/stroke/force class; confirm mounting-interface dimensions against the ACE datasheet before installation. Rod type: female thread (blank) or male thread (B). Thread options: PT (blank) / G.
| Pressure | Push force | Pull force |
|---|---|---|
| 0.5 MPa | 57 N | 42 N |
| 0.7 MPa | 79 N | 59 N |
| Max (@1.0 MPa) | 12 kgf | |
The ACEJ12X125-75 produces the same force from the same bore. Actual usable force is lower than theoretical; size with a margin.

|---|---|
| 12 | Bore size in mm. |
| ×125 | Stroke length in mm. |
| -75 | Adjustable stroke window (mm the extend stroke can be shortened on site). |
| S | Optional built-in magnet for sensor position sensing (omit for no magnet). |
| B | Rod type: B = male thread; blank = female thread. |
Replacement mapping (swap P for E): ACP→ACE, ASP→ASE, ATP→ATE, ACPD→ACED, ACPJ→ACEJ. ACP-family: ACP (double acting), ASP / ATP (single acting push / pull), ACPD (double rod), ACPJ (adjustable stroke).
The 50-125 mm adjustable range lets one cylinder eject parts from shallow or deep mold pockets by simply re-setting the stop screw, with 56.5 N of push at 0.5 MPa for lightweight sprues.
The short body, about 50% shorter than an ISO 15552 profile cylinder, fits tight Z-axis slots on electronics assembly lines handling parts up to roughly 2.9 kg with a 2:1 margin.
A 34 N usable clamping force at 0.5 MPa holds small housings or PCBs during leak and functional tests, and the stop screw sets the clamp position per fixture.
Size the load both ways: at 0.5 MPa this bore pushes 56.5 N and pulls 42.4 N; if you need more, the 16 mm bore gives 100.5 N push at the same pressure, and a smaller 12 mm fixed-stroke ACP could suit simpler jobs. The stop screw is a mechanical end stop for the extend stroke only - it does not hold a load if air is lost. Rod end is female M3x0.5, port is M5x0.8, and mounting uses the FA/FB flange or LB foot family. This unit has no magnet fitted; order the -S version if you need CMSE / DMSE switch positions. For new designs, specify the ACEJ12X125 replacement and verify ISO 21287 mounting dimensions.
Replacement checklist
At 0.5 MPa it pushes 56.5 N and pulls 42.4 N; at 0.7 MPa it pushes 79.2 N and pulls 59.4 N; theoretical maximum is 11.5 kgf at 1.0 MPa. Operating pressure is 0.15-1.0 MPa (22-145 psi), proof pressure 1.5 MPa (215 psi), speed 30-500 mm/s, temperature -20 to +70 C, fluid air filtered to 40 um. Port is M5x0.8, rod thread female M3x0.5, and the -75 code allows the extend stroke to be trimmed within a 75 mm window (50-125 mm usable).
No - the ACPJ family is discontinued and this 125 mm stroke is a made-to-order build above the 50 mm standard maximum for bore 12. The current-production replacement is the ACEJ12X125, which matches the same bore, stroke and force class in the ISO 21287 short-body format. Confirm the ISO 21287 mounting dimensions against your fixture before swapping, since the ACPJ was built to a DIN-standard footprint. If you need position sensing, order the -S magnet code so CMSE / DMSE switches can be used.
