About the Airtac ACPJ Adjustable Compact Cylinder ACPJ12X15-10
The ACPJ12X15-10 is a double acting compact cylinder with an adjustable stroke: a stop screw trims the extend stroke anywhere in a 10 mm window, so the usable range is 5-15 mm. The 12 mm bore delivers 56.5 N push and 42.4 N pull at 0.5 MPa, rising to 79.2 N push at 0.7 MPa. Because the short ISO 21287-class body saves about 50% of the mounting length of an ISO 15552 profile cylinder, it slots into slim fixtures, small guarding and tight gantries. Note this model is discontinued; the current-production replacement is the ACEJ12X15.
Practically, plan for roughly 34 N (about 3.5 kgf) of real work at 0.5 MPa instead of the full rating, and expect it to lift about 2.9 kg vertically with a 2:1 margin. The hard-anodized aluminium body carries an S45C hard-chrome rod with a female M3x0.5 thread, M5x0.8 ports, fixed TPU bumpers at both ends and speeds of 30-500 mm/s. No magnet is fitted on this version; the optional -S code adds one for CMSE / DMSE switches. Confirm ISO 21287 mounting dimensions before swapping to the ACEJ12X15.

Replacing the Airtac ACPJ Adjustable Compact Cylinder ACPJ12X15-10 with the ACEJ12X15-10
At 12 mm bore this is the smallest force class in the family: 56.5 N push at 0.5 MPa versus 100.5 N for a 16 mm bore and 157.1 N for a 20 mm bore, so step up if your part weight or clamp force is near the limit. The 15 mm stroke sits well inside the 50 mm maximum standard stroke for this bore. The stop screw only shortens the extend stroke and does not hold a load on air loss. If you need position sensing, order the -S variant; this code has no magnet. FA/FB flange and LB foot mountings bolt to the standard face. For new projects, specify the ACEJ12X15 instead.

An external stop screw shortens the extend stroke within the ordered 10 mm window, so you can set anywhere from 5 mm to the full 15 mm; it cannot lengthen the stroke past 15 mm. The stop is a mechanical end stop only - on air loss the piston still drifts, so it is not a load-holding brake. The fixed TPU bumpers at each end just decelerate the piston. For sensing, the optional -S magnet enables CMSE / DMSE switches; this standard code has no magnet.
