This model is discontinued
AirTAC has phased out the MAL series. The drop-in replacement is ACEJ12X150-100B — same bore, stroke, output force, port and mounting, so it fits the same application. Simply order the ACEJ12X150-100B in place of this model. The ACE replacement is a current-production ISO 21287 compact cylinder in the same bore, stroke and force class, with a matching short body and the same mounting-accessory family, so it fits the same envelope. Confirm mounting-interface dimensions against the ACE datasheet before ordering.

The AirTAC Airtac ACPJ Adjustable Compact Cylinder ACPJ12X150-100B is a double acting, adjustable stroke DIN-standard tight/compact air cylinder with a Ø12mm bore and 150mm stroke, M5×0.8 air ports and a hard-anodized aluminium body. This model is discontinued — the current-production replacement is the ACEJ12X150-100B (ISO 21287 ACE), in the same bore, stroke and force class.
The ACPJ12X150-100B is a double acting compact cylinder with an adjustable extend stroke: the -100 code adds a stop screw that trims the 150 mm stroke by up to 100 mm, giving a usable range of 50-150 mm on site. The 12 mm bore delivers 56.5 N push and 42.4 N pull at 0.5 MPa (79.2 N / 59.4 N at 0.7 MPa), with a theoretical peak of 11.5 kgf at 1.0 MPa. The 150 mm stroke is longer than the 50 mm standard maximum for this bore, so it is a made-to-order build. This model is discontinued; the current-production replacement is ACEJ12X150.
The short ISO 21287-class body saves about 50% of the mounting length of an ISO 15552 profile cylinder, so it slots into slim fixtures and guarded cells. A practical sizing rule: plan on roughly 34 N of real work at 0.5 MPa, which lifts about 2.9 kg vertically with a 2:1 margin. The hard-anodized aluminium body carries an S45C hard-chrome rod, fixed TPU bumpers sit at both ends, and the B code gives a male rod thread. Note there is no magnet fitted (no S code), so position switches cannot be used on this version. Operating window is 0.15-1.0 MPa (22-145 psi) at 30-500 mm/s.

Specifications follow the official AirTAC ACP datasheet (now discontinued). The ACEJ12X150-100B (ISO 21287) carries the same bore/stroke/force class; confirm mounting-interface dimensions against the ACE datasheet before installation. Rod type: female thread (blank) or male thread (B). Thread options: PT (blank) / G.

|---|---|---|
| 0.5 MPa | 57 N | 42 N |
| 0.7 MPa | 79 N | 59 N |
| Max (@1.0 MPa) | 12 kgf | |
The ACEJ12X150-100B produces the same force from the same bore. Actual usable force is lower than theoretical; size with a margin.

|---|---|
| 12 | Bore size in mm. |
| ×150 | Stroke length in mm. |
| -100 | Adjustable stroke window (mm the extend stroke can be shortened on site). |

| B | Rod type: B = male thread; blank = female thread. |
Replacement mapping (swap P for E): ACP→ACE, ASP→ASE, ATP→ATE, ACPD→ACED, ACPJ→ACEJ. ACP-family: ACP (double acting), ASP / ATP (single acting push / pull), ACPD (double rod), ACPJ (adjustable stroke).
The 56.5 N push at 0.5 MPa clears light plastic or stamped parts from nests, and the 50-150 mm adjustable range lets one station handle multiple part heights.
Male rod thread (B code) accepts custom probes or stops; without the -S magnet this build suits purely mechanical stops, while -S versions take CMSE / DMSE switches.
About 34 N of usable force at 0.5 MPa holds small PCBs or brackets, and the short body fits where an ISO 15552 profile cylinder is too long.
At 12 mm bore you get 56.5 N push at 0.5 MPa; step up to the 16 mm bore for 100.5 N or drop to the smallest frame only if under 56 N is enough. The 100 mm adjustment window suits stations where one cylinder must serve several product lengths. Because the stop screw is a mechanical end stop, not a mid-stroke lock, the rod can still drift if air is lost - do not use it to hold a load. FA/FB flange and LB foot mountings bolt to the ISO 21287 face. For sensing, order an -S variant with CMSE / DMSE switches. This unit is discontinued: confirm ISO 21287 mounting dimensions, then swap to ACEJ12X150.
Replacement checklist
At 0.5 MPa it pushes 56.5 N and pulls 42.4 N; at 0.7 MPa that rises to 79.2 N push and 59.4 N pull, with a theoretical maximum of 11.5 kgf at 1.0 MPa. The -100 code gives a 100 mm adjustment window, so the 150 mm extend stroke can be shortened to anywhere between 50 mm and 150 mm with the stop screw. It runs on air filtered to 40 um at 0.15-1.0 MPa (22-145 psi), proof pressure 1.5 MPa (215 psi), speed 30-500 mm/s, temperature -20 to +70 C. The 150 mm stroke is a non-standard, made-to-order length for the 12 mm bore.
It is a short-body compact cylinder with a hard-anodized aluminium body, S45C hard-chrome rod, M5x0.8 ports and fixed TPU bumpers at both ends - about 50% shorter in mounting length than an ISO 15552 profile cylinder. FA/FB flange and LB foot mountings fit the ISO 21287 face. The rod end is male thread (B code) and no magnet is fitted unless you order the optional -S code. The ACPJ family is discontinued; the drop-in successor is ACEJ12X150 in the same bore, stroke and force class - confirm ISO 21287 mounting dimensions before swapping.
