This model is discontinued
AirTAC has phased out the MAL series. The drop-in replacement is ACEJ12X150-100S — same bore, stroke, output force, port and mounting, so it fits the same application. Simply order the ACEJ12X150-100S in place of this model. The ACE replacement is a current-production ISO 21287 compact cylinder in the same bore, stroke and force class, with a matching short body and the same mounting-accessory family, so it fits the same envelope. Confirm mounting-interface dimensions against the ACE datasheet before ordering.

The AirTAC Airtac ACPJ Adjustable Compact Cylinder ACPJ12X150-100S is a double acting, adjustable stroke DIN-standard tight/compact air cylinder with a Ø12mm bore and 150mm stroke, M5×0.8 air ports and a hard-anodized aluminium body. This model is discontinued — the current-production replacement is the ACEJ12X150-100S (ISO 21287 ACE), in the same bore, stroke and force class.
A double acting compact cylinder with an adjustable extend stroke, the ACPJ12X150-100S carries a 12 mm bore and a 150 mm stroke trimmed by a 100 mm stop-screw window, so the effective range is 50-150 mm. At 0.5 MPa it pushes 56.5 N and pulls 42.4 N, rising to 79.2 N push at 0.7 MPa. The 150 mm stroke exceeds the 50 mm standard limit for bore 12, so it is a made-to-order build. Note this model is discontinued: the current-production drop-in is ACEJ12X150, same bore, stroke and force class.
The short ISO 21287-class body saves about 50% of the mounting length of an ISO 15552 profile cylinder, which is why it slots into slim pick-and-place heads and guarded test rigs. The -S magnet is fitted on this unit, so CMSE / DMSE reed or solid-state switches can be clamped on for end-of-stroke signals. As a buyer rule of thumb, plan on roughly 34 N of usable push at 0.5 MPa (about 60% of rating), which lifts about 2.9 kg vertically with a 2:1 margin. A fixed TPU bumper sits at each end; the stop screw sets stroke length but never holds a load if air is lost.

Specifications follow the official AirTAC ACP datasheet (now discontinued). The ACEJ12X150-100S (ISO 21287) carries the same bore/stroke/force class; confirm mounting-interface dimensions against the ACE datasheet before installation. Rod type: female thread (blank) or male thread (B). Thread options: PT (blank) / G.
| Pressure | Push force | Pull force |
|---|---|---|
| 0.5 MPa | 57 N | 42 N |
| 0.7 MPa | 79 N | 59 N |
| Max (@1.0 MPa) | 12 kgf | |
The ACEJ12X150-100S produces the same force from the same bore. Actual usable force is lower than theoretical; size with a margin.
| ACPJ | DIN compact cylinder (adjustable-stroke, discontinued). |
|---|---|
| 12 | Bore size in mm. |
| ×150 | Stroke length in mm. |
| -100 | Adjustable stroke window (mm the extend stroke can be shortened on site). |
| S | Optional built-in magnet for sensor position sensing (omit for no magnet). |
| B | Rod type: B = male thread; blank = female thread. |
Replacement mapping (swap P for E): ACP→ACE, ASP→ASE, ATP→ATE, ACPD→ACED, ACPJ→ACEJ. ACP-family: ACP (double acting), ASP / ATP (single acting push / pull), ACPD (double rod), ACPJ (adjustable stroke).
The 56.5 N push at 0.5 MPa clears finished micro-components from nests, and the 50-150 mm adjustable range lets one station handle multiple part heights without swapping cylinders.
With the fitted -S magnet driving CMSE switches, the 150 mm stroke positions sample trays inside tight analyser housings where a full-length profile cylinder cannot fit.
DMSE solid-state switches on the magnet flag gate-open position on packaging chutes, while the stop screw trims the gate swing to match each carton size.
Size against neighbours: bore 10-class small cylinders fall well under the 56.5 N push of this 12 mm bore at 0.5 MPa, while bore 16 gives 100.5 N push at the same pressure if your fixture needs more margin. The 100 mm window suits machines where one cylinder must serve several product lengths. FA/FB flange or LB foot mounts bolt to the ISO 21287 face. Because the adjuster is a mechanical end stop, not a mid-stroke lock, add a separate valve or brake if the load must stay put on air loss. Order ACEJ12X150 as the current replacement and confirm ISO 21287 mounting dimensions before the swap.
Replacement checklist
At 0.5 MPa it pushes 56.5 N and pulls 42.4 N; at 0.7 MPa push is 79.2 N and pull 59.4 N; theoretical maximum is 11.5 kgf at 1.0 MPa. It is double acting, 12 mm bore, 150 mm stroke with a 100 mm adjustment window (usable 50-150 mm), M5x0.8 ports, female M3x0.5 rod thread, 0.15-1.0 MPa (22-145 psi) operating range, 30-500 mm/s speed and a fixed TPU bumper at both ends. The 150 mm stroke is made to order since bore 12 standard tops out at 50 mm.
No - the ACPJ family is discontinued. Order ACEJ12X150 instead: swap the P for an E and you get the current-production ISO 21287 compact cylinder in the same bore, stroke and force class. Because the ACP is DIN-standard, confirm the ISO 21287 mounting dimensions before redesigning your fixture.
