This model is discontinued
AirTAC has phased out the MAL series. The drop-in replacement is ACEJ12X150-10S — same bore, stroke, output force, port and mounting, so it fits the same application. Simply order the ACEJ12X150-10S in place of this model. The ACE replacement is a current-production ISO 21287 compact cylinder in the same bore, stroke and force class, with a matching short body and the same mounting-accessory family, so it fits the same envelope. Confirm mounting-interface dimensions against the ACE datasheet before ordering.

The AirTAC Airtac ACPJ Adjustable Compact Cylinder ACPJ12X150-10S is a double acting, adjustable stroke DIN-standard tight/compact air cylinder with a Ø12mm bore and 150mm stroke, M5×0.8 air ports and a hard-anodized aluminium body. This model is discontinued — the current-production replacement is the ACEJ12X150-10S (ISO 21287 ACE), in the same bore, stroke and force class.
A double acting compact cylinder with an adjustable extend stroke, the ACPJ12X150-10S carries a 12 mm bore and a 150 mm stroke trimmed by a 10 mm stop-screw window, so the working range is 140-150 mm. Push force is 56.5 N and pull force is 42.4 N at 0.5 MPa, rising to 79.2 N push at 0.7 MPa, with a theoretical peak of 11.5 kgf at 1.0 MPa. The 150 mm stroke is beyond the 50 mm standard limit for this bore, so it is a made-to-order build. Note this model is discontinued: the current-production replacement is the ACEJ12X150, and buyers should confirm ISO 21287 mounting dimensions before swapping because the ACP is DIN-standard.
The hard-anodized aluminium body with an S45C hard-chrome rod saves about 50% of the mounting length of an ISO 15552 profile cylinder, which is why it suits slim gantries and guarded pick stations. A fixed TPU bumper sits at both ends, and the -S magnet this model carries lets CMSE or DMSE reed or solid-state switches report position. Plan on roughly 34 N (about 3.5 kg of force equivalent) of usable work at 0.5 MPa rather than the full 56.5 N rating, and expect it to lift about 2.9 kg vertically with a 2:1 margin. Speed range is 30-500 mm/s across 0.15-1.0 MPa (22-145 psi) of clean, 40 um filtered air.

Specifications follow the official AirTAC ACP datasheet (now discontinued). The ACEJ12X150-10S (ISO 21287) carries the same bore/stroke/force class; confirm mounting-interface dimensions against the ACE datasheet before installation. Rod type: female thread (blank) or male thread (B). Thread options: PT (blank) / G.

|---|---|---|
| 0.5 MPa | 57 N | 42 N |
| 0.7 MPa | 79 N | 59 N |
| Max (@1.0 MPa) | 12 kgf | |
The ACEJ12X150-10S produces the same force from the same bore. Actual usable force is lower than theoretical; size with a margin.

| B | Rod type: B = male thread; blank = female thread. |
Replacement mapping (swap P for E): ACP→ACE, ASP→ASE, ATP→ATE, ACPD→ACED, ACPJ→ACEJ. ACP-family: ACP (double acting), ASP / ATP (single acting push / pull), ACPD (double rod), ACPJ (adjustable stroke).
The 56.5 N push at 0.5 MPa seats small circuit boards in a test nest, while the fitted -S magnet and a CMSE switch confirm the 140-150 mm trimmed stroke is reached before the probe cycle starts.
Mounted beside a narrow conveyor guard, the short body fits where a full-length profile cylinder cannot, nudging misaligned blister packs off the belt at 30-500 mm/s.
With about 2.9 kg of vertical lift capacity at a 2:1 margin, the rod raises small vial trays inside a tight instrument enclosure, the TPU bumpers softening each end of travel.
At 56.5 N push at 0.5 MPa this bore 12 unit covers light clamping and part-presenting duty; step up to the 16 mm bore (100.5 N push) if loads creep higher, or drop to the smallest frame size only for positioning tasks with almost no load. The stop screw trims the extend stroke only within the 10 mm window - it is a mechanical end stop, not a mid-stroke lock, so the rod still drifts if air is lost. FA/FB flange and LB foot mountings bolt to the ISO 21287 face, and the fitted -S magnet pairs with CMSE / DMSE switches. Order the ACEJ12X150 as the current drop-in successor.
Replacement checklist
At 0.5 MPa it pushes 56.5 N and pulls 42.4 N; at 0.7 MPa it pushes 79.2 N and pulls 59.4 N, with a theoretical maximum of 11.5 kgf at 1.0 MPa. The -10 code gives a 10 mm adjustment window, so the 150 mm extend stroke can be trimmed anywhere in a 140-150 mm range with the external stop screw. The stroke is made to order because the bore 12 standard maximum is 50 mm.
This version carries the optional -S magnet, so CMSE reed or DMSE solid-state switches can be clamped to the body for end-of-stroke signals. The ACPJ family is discontinued; the current-production replacement is the ACEJ12X150, which matches the same bore, stroke and force class - confirm the ISO 21287 mounting dimensions before swapping, since the ACP was built to a DIN standard.
