This model is discontinued
AirTAC has phased out the MAL series. The drop-in replacement is ACEJ12X150-10 — same bore, stroke, output force, port and mounting, so it fits the same application. Simply order the ACEJ12X150-10 in place of this model. The ACE replacement is a current-production ISO 21287 compact cylinder in the same bore, stroke and force class, with a matching short body and the same mounting-accessory family, so it fits the same envelope. Confirm mounting-interface dimensions against the ACE datasheet before ordering.

The AirTAC Airtac ACPJ Adjustable Compact Cylinder ACPJ12X150-10 is a double acting, adjustable stroke DIN-standard tight/compact air cylinder with a Ø12mm bore and 150mm stroke, M5×0.8 air ports and a hard-anodized aluminium body. This model is discontinued — the current-production replacement is the ACEJ12X150-10 (ISO 21287 ACE), in the same bore, stroke and force class.
The ACPJ12X150-10 is a double acting compact cylinder with an adjustable extend stroke: a stop screw trims the 150 mm stroke by up to 10 mm, giving a usable range of 140-150 mm. Air pushes the rod out and pulls it back, and a fixed TPU bumper at each end absorbs end-of-travel impact. At 0.5 MPa this 12 mm bore delivers 56.5 N of push and 42.4 N of pull, rising to 79.2 N and 59.4 N at 0.7 MPa. Note that the 150 mm stroke is longer than the 50 mm standard maximum for bore 12, so it is a made-to-order build.
The short ISO 21287-class body saves roughly 50% of the mounting length of an ISO 15552 profile cylinder, which is why it slots into slim pick-and-place gantries and fixture plates where a full-length body cannot. As a rule of thumb, plan on about 34 N (roughly 3 kg of vertical lift) of real work at 0.5 MPa rather than the full 56.5 N rating. This model has no magnet fitted, so no CMSE or DMSE switch can be used unless the optional -S magnet version is ordered instead. The ACPJ family is discontinued; the current-production drop-in is the ACEJ12X150, and buyers should confirm ISO 21287 mounting dimensions before swapping since the ACP is DIN-standard.

Specifications follow the official AirTAC ACP datasheet (now discontinued). The ACEJ12X150-10 (ISO 21287) carries the same bore/stroke/force class; confirm mounting-interface dimensions against the ACE datasheet before installation. Rod type: female thread (blank) or male thread (B). Thread options: PT (blank) / G.
| Pressure | Push force | Pull force |
|---|---|---|
| 0.5 MPa | 57 N | 42 N |
| 0.7 MPa | 79 N | 59 N |
| Max (@1.0 MPa) | 12 kgf | |
The ACEJ12X150-10 produces the same force from the same bore. Actual usable force is lower than theoretical; size with a margin.
| ACPJ | DIN compact cylinder (adjustable-stroke, discontinued). |
|---|---|
| 12 | Bore size in mm. |
| ×150 | Stroke length in mm. |
| -10 | Adjustable stroke window (mm the extend stroke can be shortened on site). |
| S | Optional built-in magnet for sensor position sensing (omit for no magnet). |
| B | Rod type: B = male thread; blank = female thread. |
Replacement mapping (swap P for E): ACP→ACE, ASP→ASE, ATP→ATE, ACPD→ACED, ACPJ→ACEJ. ACP-family: ACP (double acting), ASP / ATP (single acting push / pull), ACPD (double rod), ACPJ (adjustable stroke).
The 56.5 N push at 0.5 MPa is enough to kick a molded connector or gasket off a nest, and the 10 mm adjustment window lets the operator dial the ejection length between 140 and 150 mm without changing hardware.
The short body, about 50% shorter than an ISO 15552 profile cylinder, fits inside a slim vision-check station frame; order the -S magnet version if CMSE or DMSE end-position sensing is needed later.
With about 34 N of practical working force at 0.5 MPa (roughly 3 kg vertical), this bore suits pressing small dowels or terminals into plastic housings on an electronics assembly bench.
At 12 mm bore this is the lightest ACPJ size: 56.5 N push at 0.5 MPa. If your part weight or clamping need exceeds about 34 N of usable force, step up to the 16 mm bore (100.5 N push at 0.5 MPa) or the 20 mm bore (157.1 N). The stop screw only shortens the extend stroke and is not a mid-stroke lock, so the rod will still drift if air is lost. Mounting is via FA/FB flange or LB foot on the ISO 21287 face, and the female M3x0.5 rod thread takes standard I/Y knuckles. Order the ACEJ12X150 as the current replacement and verify mounting dimensions first.
Replacement checklist
Push is 56.5 N and pull 42.4 N at 0.5 MPa; at 0.7 MPa push rises to 79.2 N and pull to 59.4 N, with a theoretical maximum of 11.5 kgf at 1.0 MPa. It is a double acting 12 mm bore with a 150 mm made-to-order stroke (standard max for bore 12 is 50 mm), a 10 mm adjustable window (usable 140-150 mm), M5x0.8 ports, a 6 mm rod with female M3x0.5 thread, TPU bumpers both ends, speed 30-500 mm/s, and operating pressure 0.15-1.0 MPa (22-145 psi) with 1.5 MPa (215 psi) proof pressure.
Only if the optional -S magnet code was ordered; this version has no magnet, so CMSE or DMSE switches cannot be mounted on it. The ACPJ family is discontinued, and the current-production replacement is the ACEJ12X150 in the same bore, stroke and force class. Because the ACP is DIN-standard rather than ISO 21287, confirm the mounting dimensions against the ACEJ drawing before you swap.
