This model is discontinued
AirTAC has phased out the MAL series. The drop-in replacement is ACEJ12X150-50B — same bore, stroke, output force, port and mounting, so it fits the same application. Simply order the ACEJ12X150-50B in place of this model. The ACE replacement is a current-production ISO 21287 compact cylinder in the same bore, stroke and force class, with a matching short body and the same mounting-accessory family, so it fits the same envelope. Confirm mounting-interface dimensions against the ACE datasheet before ordering.

The AirTAC Airtac ACPJ Adjustable Compact Cylinder ACPJ12X150-50B is a double acting, adjustable stroke DIN-standard tight/compact air cylinder with a Ø12mm bore and 150mm stroke, M5×0.8 air ports and a hard-anodized aluminium body. This model is discontinued — the current-production replacement is the ACEJ12X150-50B (ISO 21287 ACE), in the same bore, stroke and force class.
The ACPJ12X150-50B is a discontinued double acting compact cylinder with an adjustable extend stroke: a stop screw trims the 150 mm stroke by up to 50 mm, giving a usable range of 100-150 mm. Air drives the rod in both directions, and a fixed TPU bumper sits at each end. This 12 mm bore unit pushes 56.5 N and pulls 42.4 N at 0.5 MPa, rising to 79.2 N on the extend stroke at 0.7 MPa. The 150 mm stroke is longer than the 50 mm standard maximum for this bore, so it is a made-to-order build. Note that the stop screw is a mechanical end stop only - it shortens the extend stroke and never locks or holds a load if air is lost.
The short ISO 21287-class body saves about 50% of the mounting length of an ISO 15552 profile cylinder, so it slots into slim fixtures and gantries where a full-length body will not fit. The B code gives a male 6 mm rod with a male rod thread, and the port is M5x0.8. For sizing, plan on roughly 34 N of real work at 0.5 MPa (about 0.6 of the push rating), which lifts about 2.9 kg vertically with a 2:1 margin. No magnet is fitted on this version, so position switches cannot be mounted - order the -S code for that. This model is discontinued; the current-production replacement is the ACEJ12X150, and buyers should confirm ISO 21287 mounting dimensions before swapping, since the ACP is DIN-standard.

Specifications follow the official AirTAC ACP datasheet (now discontinued). The ACEJ12X150-50B (ISO 21287) carries the same bore/stroke/force class; confirm mounting-interface dimensions against the ACE datasheet before installation. Rod type: female thread (blank) or male thread (B). Thread options: PT (blank) / G.
| Pressure | Push force | Pull force |
|---|---|---|
| 0.5 MPa | 57 N | 42 N |
| 0.7 MPa | 79 N | 59 N |
| Max (@1.0 MPa) | 12 kgf | |
The ACEJ12X150-50B produces the same force from the same bore. Actual usable force is lower than theoretical; size with a margin.
| ACPJ | DIN compact cylinder (adjustable-stroke, discontinued). |
|---|---|
| 12 | Bore size in mm. |
| ×150 | Stroke length in mm. |
| -50 | Adjustable stroke window (mm the extend stroke can be shortened on site). |
| S | Optional built-in magnet for sensor position sensing (omit for no magnet). |
| B | Rod type: B = male thread; blank = female thread. |
Replacement mapping (swap P for E): ACP→ACE, ASP→ASE, ATP→ATE, ACPD→ACED, ACPJ→ACEJ. ACP-family: ACP (double acting), ASP / ATP (single acting push / pull), ACPD (double rod), ACPJ (adjustable stroke).
The 56.5 N push at 0.5 MPa seats bushings or dowel pins in electronics and watch-component assemblies, with the 100-150 mm adjustable range tuned to each die.
On compact gantry heads, the trimmed extend stroke kicks small housings off a vacuum nest into a tray, running 30-500 mm/s without overtravel.
The male rod thread drives a syringe or valve plunger in benchtop fluid-handling rigs where the short body must fit inside a 100-150 mm envelope.
Size both ways: if 56.5 N of push at 0.5 MPa is marginal, step up to the 16 mm bore for 100.5 N; if the load is light, the same 12 mm bore in a shorter standard stroke (up to 50 mm) costs less than this made-to-order 150 mm unit. Match FA/FB flange or LB foot mounts to the fixture, and remember the male rod thread (B code) needs a matching knuckle. If end-position sensing matters, order the -S magnet version instead, or move to the ACEJ12X150 replacement and confirm its ISO 21287 mounting dimensions.
Replacement checklist
At 0.5 MPa it pushes 56.5 N and pulls 42.4 N; at 0.7 MPa it pushes 79.2 N and pulls 59.4 N; theoretical maximum is 11.5 kgf at 1.0 MPa. The -50 code gives a 50 mm adjustment window, so the stop screw trims the 150 mm extend stroke anywhere in a 100-150 mm range. Operating pressure is 0.15-1.0 MPa (22-145 psi) and speed is 30-500 mm/s.
No - the ACPJ12X150-50B is discontinued. The current-production drop-in is the ACEJ12X150 (same 12 mm bore, 150 mm stroke and force class); confirm the ISO 21287 mounting dimensions before swapping because the ACP is DIN-standard. The short body saves about 50% of the mounting length of an ISO 15552 profile cylinder, uses a hard-anodized aluminium body with an S45C hard-chrome rod, and has a fixed TPU bumper at both ends. This version has no magnet, so CMSE / DMSE switches need the -S code.
