This model is discontinued
AirTAC has phased out the MAL series. The drop-in replacement is ACEJ12X150-75B — same bore, stroke, output force, port and mounting, so it fits the same application. Simply order the ACEJ12X150-75B in place of this model. The ACE replacement is a current-production ISO 21287 compact cylinder in the same bore, stroke and force class, with a matching short body and the same mounting-accessory family, so it fits the same envelope. Confirm mounting-interface dimensions against the ACE datasheet before ordering.

The AirTAC Airtac ACPJ Adjustable Compact Cylinder ACPJ12X150-75B is a double acting, adjustable stroke DIN-standard tight/compact air cylinder with a Ø12mm bore and 150mm stroke, M5×0.8 air ports and a hard-anodized aluminium body. This model is discontinued — the current-production replacement is the ACEJ12X150-75B (ISO 21287 ACE), in the same bore, stroke and force class.
The ACPJ12X150-75B is a double acting compact cylinder with an adjustable extend stroke, now discontinued. Its 12 mm bore delivers 56.5 N push and 42.4 N pull at 0.5 MPa (rising to 79.2 N push at 0.7 MPa), with a theoretical peak of 11.5 kgf at 1.0 MPa. The -75 code sets a 75 mm adjustment window: a stop screw trims the 150 mm stroke down on site, so the working range is 75-150 mm. The 150 mm stroke exceeds the 50 mm standard limit for this bore, so it is a made-to-order build. Note the adjuster is a mechanical end stop only - on air loss the piston still drifts, so plan external stops for any holding duty.
Built on a hard-anodized aluminium body with an S45C hard-chrome rod, the short ISO 21287-class footprint saves roughly 50% of the mounting length of an ISO 15552 profile cylinder, ideal for slim fixtures and guard-mounted tooling. The B code gives a male M3x0.5 rod thread, and a fixed TPU bumper sits at each end. In practice, size around 34 N (about 3.4 kg of push work) at 0.5 MPa, or expect roughly 2.8 kg of vertical lift with a 2:1 margin. For current production, order the drop-in successor ACEJ12X150 and confirm ISO 21287 mounting dimensions before swapping.

Specifications follow the official AirTAC ACP datasheet (now discontinued). The ACEJ12X150-75B (ISO 21287) carries the same bore/stroke/force class; confirm mounting-interface dimensions against the ACE datasheet before installation. Rod type: female thread (blank) or male thread (B). Thread options: PT (blank) / G.

|---|---|---|
| 0.5 MPa | 57 N | 42 N |
| 0.7 MPa | 79 N | 59 N |
| Max (@1.0 MPa) | 12 kgf | |
The ACEJ12X150-75B produces the same force from the same bore. Actual usable force is lower than theoretical; size with a margin.

|---|---|
| 12 | Bore size in mm. |
| ×150 | Stroke length in mm. |
| -75 | Adjustable stroke window (mm the extend stroke can be shortened on site). |
| S | Optional built-in magnet for sensor position sensing (omit for no magnet). |
| B | Rod type: B = male thread; blank = female thread. |
Replacement mapping (swap P for E): ACP→ACE, ASP→ASE, ATP→ATE, ACPD→ACED, ACPJ→ACEJ. ACP-family: ACP (double acting), ASP / ATP (single acting push / pull), ACPD (double rod), ACPJ (adjustable stroke).
The 56.5 N push at 0.5 MPa is enough to strip small stamped clips or terminals off a die, and the 75-150 mm adjustable range lets the operator tune the eject travel without re-plumbing.
With a body about 50% shorter than an ISO 15552 profile cylinder, the 12 mm bore slides into tight analyzer chassis where sample trays of a few hundred grams need a 75-150 mm travel.
Running at 30-500 mm/s, the male M3x0.5 rod thread takes a simple tuck blade to fold light carton flaps at roughly 3.4 kg of usable push force at 0.5 MPa.
At 12 mm bore this is the lightest force step: 56.5 N push at 0.5 MPa. Step up to the 16 mm bore for 100.5 N push, or downsize from a 16 if your load needs under about 34 N of real work. The male M3x0.5 rod thread (B code) suits knuckle-style tooling; FA/FB flange and LB foot mounts bolt to the same face. This unit ships without a magnet - the optional -S code is what enables CMSE / DMSE switch mounting. The 150 mm stroke is non-standard for this bore (50 mm max standard), so it is made to order. Since ACPJ is discontinued, spec the ACEJ12X150 as the current replacement and verify ISO 21287 dimensions.
Replacement checklist
At 0.5 MPa it pushes 56.5 N and pulls 42.4 N; at 0.7 MPa it pushes 79.2 N and pulls 59.4 N; theoretical maximum is 11.5 kgf at 1.0 MPa. The -75 code gives a 75 mm adjustment window, so the extend stroke can be trimmed anywhere from 150 mm down to 75 mm with the stop screw. The 150 mm stroke is a made-to-order length since this bore's standard maximum is 50 mm. Operating range is 0.15-1.0 MPa (22-145 psi) with a 1.5 MPa (215 psi) proof pressure, speed 30-500 mm/s, and a fixed TPU bumper at both ends.
Only if the optional -S magnet was ordered - this model (no S code) has no magnet, so CMSE or DMSE reed and solid-state switches cannot be used. For sensing on a new build, order the ACEJ12X150 with the -S code. The ACPJ family is discontinued, and the ACEJ is the current-production drop-in in the same bore, stroke and force class; because the ACP is DIN-standard, confirm the ISO 21287 mounting dimensions before swapping.
