This model is discontinued
AirTAC has phased out the MAL series. The drop-in replacement is ACEJ12X150-75S — same bore, stroke, output force, port and mounting, so it fits the same application. Simply order the ACEJ12X150-75S in place of this model. The ACE replacement is a current-production ISO 21287 compact cylinder in the same bore, stroke and force class, with a matching short body and the same mounting-accessory family, so it fits the same envelope. Confirm mounting-interface dimensions against the ACE datasheet before ordering.

The AirTAC Airtac ACPJ Adjustable Compact Cylinder ACPJ12X150-75S is a double acting, adjustable stroke DIN-standard tight/compact air cylinder with a Ø12mm bore and 150mm stroke, M5×0.8 air ports and a hard-anodized aluminium body. This model is discontinued — the current-production replacement is the ACEJ12X150-75S (ISO 21287 ACE), in the same bore, stroke and force class.
This discontinued AirTAC model is a double acting compact cylinder with an adjustable extend stroke: the -75 stop screw trims the 150 mm stroke by up to 75 mm on site, giving a usable range of 75-150 mm. The 12 mm bore delivers 56.5 N push and 42.4 N pull at 0.5 MPa, rising to 79.2 N at 0.7 MPa, with a theoretical peak of 11.5 kgf at 1.0 MPa. The 150 mm stroke exceeds the 50 mm standard maximum for this bore, so it is a made-to-order build.
The short ISO 21287-class body saves about 50% of the mounting length of an ISO 15552 profile cylinder, which is why it slots into slim fixtures and guarded assemblies. Because roughly 60% of the push force is a realistic working figure, plan for about 34 N of real work at 0.5 MPa - enough to lift around 3 kg vertically with a 2:1 margin. The -S magnet is fitted, so CMSE / DMSE switches can be added, and the current-production replacement is the ACEJ12X150; confirm ISO 21287 mounting dimensions before swapping.

Specifications follow the official AirTAC ACP datasheet (now discontinued). The ACEJ12X150-75S (ISO 21287) carries the same bore/stroke/force class; confirm mounting-interface dimensions against the ACE datasheet before installation. Rod type: female thread (blank) or male thread (B). Thread options: PT (blank) / G.
| Pressure | Push force | Pull force |
|---|---|---|
| 0.5 MPa | 57 N | 42 N |
| 0.7 MPa | 79 N | 59 N |
| Max (@1.0 MPa) | 12 kgf | |
The ACEJ12X150-75S produces the same force from the same bore. Actual usable force is lower than theoretical; size with a margin.
| ACPJ | DIN compact cylinder (adjustable-stroke, discontinued). |
|---|---|
| 12 | Bore size in mm. |
| ×150 | Stroke length in mm. |
| -75 | Adjustable stroke window (mm the extend stroke can be shortened on site). |
| S | Optional built-in magnet for sensor position sensing (omit for no magnet). |
| B | Rod type: B = male thread; blank = female thread. |
Replacement mapping (swap P for E): ACP→ACE, ASP→ASE, ATP→ATE, ACPD→ACED, ACPJ→ACEJ. ACP-family: ACP (double acting), ASP / ATP (single acting push / pull), ACPD (double rod), ACPJ (adjustable stroke).
The fitted -S magnet lets a CMSE switch confirm the trimmed extend position, while the 75 mm window lets one cylinder serve several part sizes on a 150 mm max throw.
About 34 N of usable push at 0.5 MPa is enough to nudge small aluminium or brass components off a fixture into a collection chute.
The short body fits where a full-length profile cylinder cannot, and 79.2 N push at 0.7 MPa holds light lids or boards during a leak or electrical test.
At 12 mm bore this is the smallest force class in the family: 56.5 N push at 0.5 MPa. Step up to the 16 mm bore for 100.5 N push or the 20 mm bore for 157.1 N if the load needs more margin. If you only need a fixed stroke, the plain ACP (replaced by ACE) is simpler; for a rod on both ends, ACPD was the option. Note that the stop screw is a mechanical end stop only - on air loss the piston still drifts, so it is not a load-holding brake. FA/FB flange and LB foot mountings bolt to the standard face, and the -S magnet on this unit accepts CMSE / DMSE switches. Order the ACEJ12X150 as the current drop-in and verify ISO 21287 mounting dimensions.
Replacement checklist
At 0.5 MPa it pushes 56.5 N and pulls 42.4 N; at 0.7 MPa it pushes 79.2 N and pulls 59.4 N; theoretical maximum is 11.5 kgf at 1.0 MPa. The -75 code means the 150 mm extend stroke can be shortened by up to 75 mm with the stop screw, so the working range is 75-150 mm. Speed is 30-500 mm/s, pressure 0.15-1.0 MPa (22-145 psi), and the 150 mm stroke is a made-to-order length above the 50 mm standard maximum for this bore.
It is a short-body compact cylinder with a hard-anodized aluminium body, S45C hard-chrome rod, M5x0.8 ports and a fixed TPU bumper at both ends that only decelerates at stroke ends. Because the -S magnet is fitted on this model, CMSE / DMSE reed or solid-state switches mount directly on the body. This unit is discontinued - the ACEJ12X150 is the current-production replacement, so confirm ISO 21287 mounting dimensions before ordering.
