This model is discontinued
AirTAC has phased out the MAL series. The drop-in replacement is ACEJ12X150-75SB — same bore, stroke, output force, port and mounting, so it fits the same application. Simply order the ACEJ12X150-75SB in place of this model. The ACE replacement is a current-production ISO 21287 compact cylinder in the same bore, stroke and force class, with a matching short body and the same mounting-accessory family, so it fits the same envelope. Confirm mounting-interface dimensions against the ACE datasheet before ordering.

The AirTAC Airtac ACPJ Adjustable Compact Cylinder ACPJ12X150-75SB is a double acting, adjustable stroke DIN-standard tight/compact air cylinder with a Ø12mm bore and 150mm stroke, M5×0.8 air ports and a hard-anodized aluminium body. This model is discontinued — the current-production replacement is the ACEJ12X150-75SB (ISO 21287 ACE), in the same bore, stroke and force class.
A double acting compact cylinder with an adjustable extend stroke, the ACPJ12X150-75SB carries a 12 mm bore and a 150 mm stroke trimmed by a 75 mm stop-screw window, so the usable range is 75-150 mm. At 0.5 MPa it pushes 56.5 N and pulls 42.4 N; at 0.7 MPa that rises to 79.2 N push. The 150 mm stroke exceeds the 50 mm standard limit for bore 12, so it is a made-to-order build. This model is discontinued; the current drop-in is ACEJ12X150, same bore, stroke and force class.
The short ISO 21287-class body saves roughly 50% of the mounting length of an ISO 15552 profile cylinder, which helps in slim fixtures and guard-mounted tooling. The -S code means the magnet is fitted, so CMSE or DMSE reed and solid-state switches can be clipped on for end-of-stroke signals. The B code gives a male 6 mm rod thread, and the fixed TPU bumper at each end only decelerates at the ends. For sizing, plan on about 34 N of real work at 0.5 MPa, and expect roughly 2.9 kg of vertical lift with a 2:1 margin.

Specifications follow the official AirTAC ACP datasheet (now discontinued). The ACEJ12X150-75SB (ISO 21287) carries the same bore/stroke/force class; confirm mounting-interface dimensions against the ACE datasheet before installation. Rod type: female thread (blank) or male thread (B). Thread options: PT (blank) / G.
| Pressure | Push force | Pull force |
|---|---|---|
| 0.5 MPa | 57 N | 42 N |
| 0.7 MPa | 79 N | 59 N |
| Max (@1.0 MPa) | 12 kgf | |
The ACEJ12X150-75SB produces the same force from the same bore. Actual usable force is lower than theoretical; size with a margin.
| ACPJ | DIN compact cylinder (adjustable-stroke, discontinued). |
|---|---|
| 12 | Bore size in mm. |
| ×150 | Stroke length in mm. |
| -75 | Adjustable stroke window (mm the extend stroke can be shortened on site). |
| S | Optional built-in magnet for sensor position sensing (omit for no magnet). |
| B | Rod type: B = male thread; blank = female thread. |
Replacement mapping (swap P for E): ACP→ACE, ASP→ASE, ATP→ATE, ACPD→ACED, ACPJ→ACEJ. ACP-family: ACP (double acting), ASP / ATP (single acting push / pull), ACPD (double rod), ACPJ (adjustable stroke).
The fitted magnet lets a CMSE switch confirm full extension before the next station indexes, with the 75 mm window letting you trim the 150 mm throw to the part height.
About 34 N of usable force at 0.5 MPa is enough to seat PCB headers and small terminals where a full-length cylinder would not fit in the fixture.
Lifts roughly 2.9 kg vertically with a 2:1 margin, ideal for raising sensor heads or probe plates in benchtop inspection equipment.
If 56.5 N of push at 0.5 MPa is marginal for your jig, step up to bore 16 (100.5 N) or bore 20 (157.1 N) at the same pressure; nothing smaller exists in this family. Note the adjuster is a mechanical end stop for the extend stroke only - it does not hold a load if air is lost. The male rod thread suits I or Y knuckles; FA flange and LB foot mountings bolt to the same face. Order ACEJ12X150 as the current-production replacement and confirm the ISO 21287 mounting dimensions before swapping, since the ACP is DIN-standard.
Replacement checklist
At 0.5 MPa it pushes 56.5 N and pulls 42.4 N; at 0.7 MPa it pushes 79.2 N and pulls 59.4 N. The theoretical maximum is 11.5 kgf at 1.0 MPa. Operating pressure is 0.15-1.0 MPa (22-145 psi) with a 1.5 MPa (215 psi) proof pressure, and speed runs 30-500 mm/s.
A stop screw shortens the extend stroke by up to 75 mm inside the ordered 150 mm stroke, giving a 75-150 mm usable range; it cannot lengthen the stroke. The ACPJ family is discontinued - order ACEJ12X150, the current ISO 21287 drop-in in the same bore, stroke and force class, and confirm mounting dimensions before the swap.
