The AirTAC Airtac ACPJ Adjustable Compact Cylinder ACPJ12X160-100 is a double acting, adjustable stroke DIN-standard tight/compact air cylinder with a Ø12mm bore and 160mm stroke, M5×0.8 air ports and a hard-anodized aluminium body. This model is discontinued — the current-production replacement is the ACEJ12X160-100 (ISO 21287 ACE), in the same bore, stroke and force class.
The ACPJ12X160-100 is a double acting compact cylinder with an adjustable stroke, now discontinued and replaced by the ACEJ12X160. Its 12 mm bore delivers 56.5 N push and 42.4 N pull at 0.5 MPa (79.2 N / 59.4 N at 0.7 MPa), with a theoretical peak of 11.5 kgf at 1.0 MPa. The -100 code sets a 100 mm adjustment window, so a stop screw trims the extend stroke anywhere in a 60-160 mm range on site. Note the 160 mm stroke exceeds the 50 mm standard maximum for bore 12, so it is a made-to-order build.
The short ISO 21287-class body saves roughly 50% of the mounting length of an ISO 15552 profile cylinder, which is why it slots into slim fixtures and guarded assemblies. A fixed TPU bumper sits at both ends, the hard-anodized aluminium body carries an S45C hard-chrome rod, and the female M3x0.5 rod thread with M5x0.8 PT ports keeps plumbing simple. In practice, plan on about 34 N of usable push at 0.5 MPa, which lifts roughly 2.9 kg vertically with a 2:1 margin. Speed runs 30-500 mm/s across 0.15-1.0 MPa (22-145 psi).

A 12 mm bore nudging single cartons off an infeed needs only a few newtons of working force; the short body tucks behind the frame where a full-length cylinder would overhang.
With about 2.9 kg of vertical lift capability at a 2:1 margin, the cylinder keeps light spool arms or guide rollers loaded, and the female M3x0.5 thread accepts a small knuckle directly.
At 12 mm bore this is the smallest force step in the family: 56.5 N push at 0.5 MPa versus 100.5 N for bore 16 and 157.1 N for bore 20, so step up if your mechanism needs more than about 34 N of working force. The 160 mm stroke is non-standard for this bore (standard tops out at 50 mm) and is made to order. The adjuster is a mechanical end stop for the extend stroke only - it does not lock the piston, so on air loss the rod still drifts and an external brake is needed for load holding. No magnet is fitted on this version; order the -S code if you need CMSE / DMSE switch positions. For new projects, specify the ACEJ12X160 and confirm ISO 21287 mounting dimensions before the swap.
