This model is discontinued
AirTAC has phased out the MAL series. The drop-in replacement is ACEJ12X175-75B — same bore, stroke, output force, port and mounting, so it fits the same application. Simply order the ACEJ12X175-75B in place of this model. The ACE replacement is a current-production ISO 21287 compact cylinder in the same bore, stroke and force class, with a matching short body and the same mounting-accessory family, so it fits the same envelope. Confirm mounting-interface dimensions against the ACE datasheet before ordering.

The AirTAC Airtac ACPJ Adjustable Compact Cylinder ACPJ12X175-75B is a double acting, adjustable stroke DIN-standard tight/compact air cylinder with a Ø12mm bore and 175mm stroke, M5×0.8 air ports and a hard-anodized aluminium body. This model is discontinued — the current-production replacement is the ACEJ12X175-75B (ISO 21287 ACE), in the same bore, stroke and force class.
This AirTAC ACPJ12X175-75B is a double acting compact cylinder with an adjustable extend stroke: a stop screw trims the 175 mm stroke by up to 75 mm on site, giving a usable range of 100-175 mm. The 12 mm bore delivers 56.5 N push and 42.4 N pull at 0.5 MPa (79.2 N push at 0.7 MPa), with a theoretical maximum of 11.5 kgf at 1.0 MPa. Its short ISO 21287-class body saves roughly 50% of the mounting length of an ISO 15552 profile cylinder, so it slots into slim jigs and guarding where a full-length body will not fit.
Note that the 175 mm stroke is beyond the 50 mm maximum standard stroke for bore 12, so this unit is made to order. The B code gives a male rod thread, the port is M5x0.8, and fixed TPU bumpers decelerate the piston at both ends. In practice, plan for about 34 N of real work at 0.5 MPa (roughly 3 kg lifted vertically with a 2:1 margin), since the full 56.5 N rating leaves no reserve. This model is discontinued: the current-production replacement is ACEJ12X175, and you should confirm ISO 21287 mounting dimensions before swapping, as the ACP series was built to a DIN-standard footprint.

Specifications follow the official AirTAC ACP datasheet (now discontinued). The ACEJ12X175-75B (ISO 21287) carries the same bore/stroke/force class; confirm mounting-interface dimensions against the ACE datasheet before installation. Rod type: female thread (blank) or male thread (B). Thread options: PT (blank) / G.
| Pressure | Push force | Pull force |
|---|---|---|
| 0.5 MPa | 57 N | 42 N |
| 0.7 MPa | 79 N | 59 N |
| Max (@1.0 MPa) | 12 kgf | |
The ACEJ12X175-75B produces the same force from the same bore. Actual usable force is lower than theoretical; size with a margin.
| ACPJ | DIN compact cylinder (adjustable-stroke, discontinued). |
|---|---|
| 12 | Bore size in mm. |
| ×175 | Stroke length in mm. |
| -75 | Adjustable stroke window (mm the extend stroke can be shortened on site). |
| S | Optional built-in magnet for sensor position sensing (omit for no magnet). |
| B | Rod type: B = male thread; blank = female thread. |
Replacement mapping (swap P for E): ACP→ACE, ASP→ASE, ATP→ATE, ACPD→ACED, ACPJ→ACEJ. ACP-family: ACP (double acting), ASP / ATP (single acting push / pull), ACPD (double rod), ACPJ (adjustable stroke).
The 75 mm window lets a technician trim the 100-175 mm extend range of a 12 mm bore pusher after the fixture is built, with 56.5 N at 0.5 MPa enough to seat light connectors or labels.
The short body saves about 50% of the mounting length of an ISO 15552 profile cylinder, so the 175 mm stroke fits inside a slim guarding panel where a full-length body cannot.
With about 3 kg of vertical lift at a 2:1 margin (34 N usable at 0.5 MPa), the male-threaded 6 mm rod raises small sample trays or shutters inside tight instrument enclosures.
Size both ways before ordering: the 16 mm bore pushes 100.5 N at 0.5 MPa if 56.5 N is marginal, while staying at bore 12 keeps the M5x0.8 port and 6 mm rod on a tighter envelope. The 75 mm window suits fixtures where the final extend position is tuned after installation. Remember the stop screw only shortens the extend stroke - it is a mechanical end stop, not a mid-stroke lock, so the piston still drifts if air is lost. No magnet is fitted on this version (no S code), so no CMSE / DMSE switch can be mounted; order an -S variant if sensing is needed. FA/FB flange and LB foot mountings bolt to the standard face. For new designs, specify the ACEJ12X175 instead - same bore, stroke and force class, currently in production.
Replacement checklist
At 0.5 MPa it pushes 56.5 N and pulls 42.4 N; at 0.7 MPa it pushes 79.2 N and pulls 59.4 N; the theoretical maximum is 11.5 kgf at 1.0 MPa. The -75 code is a 75 mm adjustment window: the stop screw shortens the 175 mm extend stroke to any point from 100 mm up to the full 175 mm. Operating pressure is 0.15-1.0 MPa (22-145 psi), speed 30-500 mm/s, and the 175 mm stroke is a made-to-order length since bore 12 tops out at 50 mm standard.
Not on this version: without the optional -S code there is no magnet, so no CMSE or DMSE switch can be mounted - order an -S variant if sensing is required. The ACPJ family is discontinued; the current-production drop-in is the ACEJ12X175 (swap the P for an E), which matches the same bore, stroke and force class. Confirm the ISO 21287 mounting dimensions before swapping, because the ACP was built to a DIN-standard footprint.
