The AirTAC Airtac ACPJ Adjustable Compact Cylinder ACPJ12X175-75S is a double acting, adjustable stroke DIN-standard tight/compact air cylinder with a Ø12mm bore and 175mm stroke, M5×0.8 air ports and a hard-anodized aluminium body. This model is discontinued — the current-production replacement is the ACEJ12X175-75S (ISO 21287 ACE), in the same bore, stroke and force class.
Double acting and adjustable in stroke, this discontinued ACPJ12X175-75S runs a 12 mm bore over a 175 mm stroke that a stop screw can trim by up to 75 mm, giving a usable extend range of 100-175 mm. At 0.5 MPa it pushes 56.5 N and pulls 42.4 N, rising to 79.2 N push at 0.7 MPa, with a theoretical ceiling of 11.5 kgf at 1.0 MPa. The S code means the magnet is fitted, so CMSE or DMSE reed and solid-state switches can be clipped on for end-of-stroke signalling.
The short ISO 21287-class body saves about 50% of the mounting length of an ISO 15552 profile cylinder, so it slots into slim fixtures where a full-length body will not reach. A hard-anodized aluminium body carries an S45C hard-chrome rod, fixed TPU bumpers sit at both ends, and the rod ends in a female M3x0.5 thread with M5x0.8 ports. As a planning figure, expect roughly 34 N (about 3.5 kg) of real work at 0.5 MPa, and a vertical lift of about 2.9 kg with a 2:1 margin. Note the 175 mm stroke exceeds the 50 mm standard for this bore, so it is made to order, and the series is discontinued: the current drop-in is ACEJ12X175, with ISO 21287 mounting dimensions to confirm before swapping.

Replacement mapping (swap P for E): ACP→ACE, ASP→ASE, ATP→ATE, ACPD→ACED, ACPJ→ACEJ. ACP-family: ACP (double acting), ASP / ATP (single acting push / pull), ACPD (double rod), ACPJ (adjustable stroke).
The fitted magnet lets a CMSE switch confirm the trimmed extend position, so a 100-175 mm adjustable stroke can kick small plastic housings off a nest only when the PLC sees the sensor made.
With about 34 N of usable push at 0.5 MPa, the 12 mm bore nudges light aluminium caps into a locating fixture inside a guard where a full-length body would not fit.
A vertical lift of roughly 2.9 kg with a 2:1 margin suits raising small sample trays or vial racks, with the female M3x0.5 rod thread taking a custom tooling adapter.
At 12 mm bore this is the lightest force class: 56.5 N push at 0.5 MPa. If the load stalls or needs more margin, step up to the 16 mm bore (100.5 N push at 0.5 MPa) or the 20 mm bore (157.1 N). Going smaller is not possible in this family. The 75 mm window trims the extend stroke only; it is a mechanical end stop, not a mid-stroke lock, so on air loss the piston still drifts and no load should be held by the stop alone. FA/FB flange and LB foot mountings plus I/Y rod knuckles suit standard fixture plates, and the fitted -S magnet pairs with CMSE / DMSE switches. For new projects, order the current ACEJ12X175 instead and confirm ISO 21287 mounting dimensions.
