This model is discontinued
AirTAC has phased out the MAL series. The drop-in replacement is ACEJ12X175-75 — same bore, stroke, output force, port and mounting, so it fits the same application. Simply order the ACEJ12X175-75 in place of this model. The ACE replacement is a current-production ISO 21287 compact cylinder in the same bore, stroke and force class, with a matching short body and the same mounting-accessory family, so it fits the same envelope. Confirm mounting-interface dimensions against the ACE datasheet before ordering.

The AirTAC Airtac ACPJ Adjustable Compact Cylinder ACPJ12X175-75 is a double acting, adjustable stroke DIN-standard tight/compact air cylinder with a Ø12mm bore and 175mm stroke, M5×0.8 air ports and a hard-anodized aluminium body. This model is discontinued — the current-production replacement is the ACEJ12X175-75 (ISO 21287 ACE), in the same bore, stroke and force class.
The ACPJ12X175-75 is a double acting compact cylinder with an adjustable extend stroke: the -75 stop screw trims the 175 mm stroke by up to 75 mm on site, giving a usable range of 100-175 mm. Its 12 mm bore delivers 56.5 N push and 42.4 N pull at 0.5 MPa (79.2 / 59.4 N at 0.7 MPa, 11.5 kgf theoretical maximum), so plan on roughly 34 N of real work at 0.5 MPa - about 3.4 kg of horizontal load - rather than the full rating. The 175 mm stroke exceeds the 50 mm standard maximum for this bore, so it is a made-to-order build. This model is discontinued; the current-production replacement is ACEJ12X175, the ISO 21287 successor in the same bore, stroke and force class.
Built on a hard-anodized aluminium body with an S45C hard-chrome rod, the short ISO 21287-class body saves about 50% of the mounting length of an ISO 15552 profile cylinder, which is why it suits slim jigs and guarded assemblies. Air ports are M5x0.8, the rod end carries a female M3x0.5 thread, and fixed TPU bumpers sit at both ends. No magnet is fitted on this version (the optional -S code adds one for CMSE / DMSE switches), operating pressure is 0.15-1.0 MPa (22-145 psi), and speed runs 30-500 mm/s. Before swapping to ACEJ12X175, confirm the ISO 21287 mounting dimensions, since the ACP series is DIN-standard.

Specifications follow the official AirTAC ACP datasheet (now discontinued). The ACEJ12X175-75 (ISO 21287) carries the same bore/stroke/force class; confirm mounting-interface dimensions against the ACE datasheet before installation. Rod type: female thread (blank) or male thread (B). Thread options: PT (blank) / G.

|---|---|---|
| 0.5 MPa | 57 N | 42 N |
| 0.7 MPa | 79 N | 59 N |
| Max (@1.0 MPa) | 12 kgf | |
The ACEJ12X175-75 produces the same force from the same bore. Actual usable force is lower than theoretical; size with a margin.
| ACPJ | DIN compact cylinder (adjustable-stroke, discontinued). |
|---|---|
| 12 | Bore size in mm. |
| ×175 | Stroke length in mm. |
| -75 | Adjustable stroke window (mm the extend stroke can be shortened on site). |

| B | Rod type: B = male thread; blank = female thread. |
Replacement mapping (swap P for E): ACP→ACE, ASP→ASE, ATP→ATE, ACPD→ACED, ACPJ→ACEJ. ACP-family: ACP (double acting), ASP / ATP (single acting push / pull), ACPD (double rod), ACPJ (adjustable stroke).
Ejects small connector housings off a micro mold in a compact press fixture, where the 34 N usable push at 0.5 MPa is enough and the trimmed 100-175 mm stroke clears the tool.
Swings a lightweight gate arm on an electronics test bench between two positions, with the stop screw set to 120 mm so the arm parks clear of the fixture.
Pushes a row of vials into a lab packaging tray one pitch at a time, using the 3.4 kg-class horizontal force and the short body that fits inside the guard panel.
At 12 mm this is the smallest bore in the family; if 56.5 N push at 0.5 MPa is marginal for your load, step up to the 16 mm bore with 100.5 N push at the same pressure. Remember the -75 adjuster is a mechanical end stop for the extend stroke, not a mid-stroke lock - on air loss the piston still drifts, so do not rely on it to hold a vertical load. FA/FB flange and LB foot mountings bolt to the standard face, and the female M3x0.5 rod thread takes I/Y knuckles directly. Order ACEJ12X175 as the current drop-in and verify ISO 21287 hole patterns first.
Replacement checklist
Push is 56.5 N and pull is 42.4 N at 0.5 MPa; at 0.7 MPa push rises to 79.2 N and pull to 59.4 N, with a theoretical maximum of 11.5 kgf at 1.0 MPa. The 12 mm bore uses M5x0.8 ports, a 6 mm rod with female M3x0.5 thread, 0.15-1.0 MPa (22-145 psi) operating pressure, 30-500 mm/s speed and fixed TPU bumpers at both ends. The 175 mm stroke is a made-to-order length above the 50 mm standard maximum for this bore.
An external stop screw shortens the extend stroke anywhere within the ordered 75 mm window, so the rod can be set to stop between 100 mm and the full 175 mm; it shortens the stroke only and never lengthens it. The ACPJ family is discontinued, and the current-production replacement is ACEJ12X175 - an ISO 21287 compact cylinder in the same bore, stroke and force class. Confirm the ISO 21287 mounting dimensions against your fixture before swapping, because the ACP series follows the DIN standard.
