This model is discontinued
AirTAC has phased out the MAL series. The drop-in replacement is ACEJ12X200-100B — same bore, stroke, output force, port and mounting, so it fits the same application. Simply order the ACEJ12X200-100B in place of this model. The ACE replacement is a current-production ISO 21287 compact cylinder in the same bore, stroke and force class, with a matching short body and the same mounting-accessory family, so it fits the same envelope. Confirm mounting-interface dimensions against the ACE datasheet before ordering.

The AirTAC Airtac ACPJ Adjustable Compact Cylinder ACPJ12X200-100B is a double acting, adjustable stroke DIN-standard tight/compact air cylinder with a Ø12mm bore and 200mm stroke, M5×0.8 air ports and a hard-anodized aluminium body. This model is discontinued — the current-production replacement is the ACEJ12X200-100B (ISO 21287 ACE), in the same bore, stroke and force class.
This double acting compact cylinder from AirTAC pairs a 12 mm bore with a 200 mm stroke and a 100 mm adjustment window, so a stop screw on the head lets you trim the extend stroke anywhere between 100 and 200 mm on site. At 0.5 MPa it pushes 56.5 N and pulls 42.4 N, rising to 79.2 N and 59.4 N at 0.7 MPa, with a theoretical peak of 11.5 kgf at 1.0 MPa. The 200 mm stroke is beyond the 50 mm standard maximum for this bore, so it is a made-to-order build. Note that this ACPJ model is discontinued; the current-production replacement is ACEJ12X200.
The short ISO 21287-class body saves roughly 50% of the mounting length of an ISO 15552 profile cylinder, which is why it suits slim gantries and guarded assemblies. A hard-anodized aluminium body carries an S45C hard-chrome rod, with fixed TPU bumpers at both ends and a male rod thread from the B code. As a rule of thumb, plan on about 34 N of usable push at 0.5 MPa, which lifts roughly 2.9 kg vertically with a 2:1 margin. No magnet is fitted because the -S code was not ordered, so position switches cannot be mounted on this version.

Specifications follow the official AirTAC ACP datasheet (now discontinued). The ACEJ12X200-100B (ISO 21287) carries the same bore/stroke/force class; confirm mounting-interface dimensions against the ACE datasheet before installation. Rod type: female thread (blank) or male thread (B). Thread options: PT (blank) / G.

The ACEJ12X200-100B produces the same force from the same bore. Actual usable force is lower than theoretical; size with a margin.

Replacement mapping (swap P for E): ACP→ACE, ASP→ASE, ATP→ATE, ACPD→ACED, ACPJ→ACEJ. ACP-family: ACP (double acting), ASP / ATP (single acting push / pull), ACPD (double rod), ACPJ (adjustable stroke).
The 56.5 N push at 0.5 MPa is enough to eject slides or vials from a tray, and the 100-200 mm adjustable range lets technicians dial the exact discharge point without remachining the fixture.
With about 34 N of practical working force at 0.5 MPa, this bore suits light pin-pressing of connector housings where the 200 mm reach clears a deep fixture mouth.
Running at 30-500 mm/s, the rod can sweep lightweight cartons off a narrow conveyor, and the male B-thread rod accepts a custom paddle machined in-house.
At 12 mm bore you are at the bottom of the ACPJ range: 56.5 N push at 0.5 MPa. If your load needs more, the 16 mm bore delivers 100.5 N and the 20 mm bore 157.1 N at the same pressure. Remember the stop screw only shortens the extend stroke and drifts on air loss, so it is not a load-holding device. FA/FB flange and LB foot mountings bolt to the standard face, and if you need end-of-stroke sensing, order the -S variant so CMSE or DMSE switches work. For new projects, specify ACEJ12X200 instead and confirm ISO 21287 mounting dimensions before the swap.
Replacement checklist
At 0.5 MPa it pushes 56.5 N and pulls 42.4 N; at 0.7 MPa those rise to 79.2 N and 59.4 N, with a theoretical maximum of 11.5 kgf at 1.0 MPa. The -100 code is a 100 mm adjustment window: an external stop screw shortens the 200 mm extend stroke anywhere down to 100 mm. The stop is a mechanical end stop only, so on air loss the piston still drifts. Operating pressure is 0.15-1.0 MPa (22-145 psi) and speed is 30-500 mm/s.
No - the ACPJ family is discontinued. The current-production drop-in is ACEJ12X200, which matches the same 12 mm bore, 200 mm stroke and force class. Because the ACP is DIN-standard, confirm the ISO 21287 mounting dimensions of the ACEJ against your fixture before swapping. Also note this version has no magnet (the optional -S code was not ordered), so CMSE or DMSE switches cannot be fitted; order the -S replacement if you need sensing.
